- Bet you didn’t know these HELLDIVERS 2 TIPS about the SEAF ARTILLERY are DEAD WRONG
I've been hearing some downright ridiculous chatter amongst you sorry excuses for Helldivers.
First off, I don't want to hear another whisper about the SEAF Artillery firing multiple rounds just because a bunch of you chuckleheads decide to toss the stratagem at the same damn time!
Next, let's address this fairy tale about breaking boxes to get more shells.
The Artillery ain't no piñata, and those shells ain't candy! What did you think this was your Quinceañera?
Lastly, some of you dummies actually got one thing right.
Activating that terminal is like ringing the dinner bell for every enemy in the neighborhood, so why in the blazes would you want to dilly-dally and give 'em time to set the table?
Move your sorry behinds and gather up those shells by the loading area before you even think about poking that terminal with your Cheeto crusted fingers!

The group that figured out how spawning works and wwhat not LITERALLY checked this over and over again, and they NEVER got any proof that the terminal does anything. Same with me, ever since I started to activate the terminal instead of waiting, I have noticed nothing more. Same with my friends and several other people. no more increased spawn rates, or enemies getting attracted to you over longer distances.
Is it possible to reload the SEAF with the remaining rounds after it fires its initial 5?
@@onyxknight320 no it's a one-and-done side objective
@redvirus555 another client to load? or in other words: sony and xbox happyly working together? go away with that malisious thoughts!
@@crankylucifer agreee. its complete bs. no increase at all if i wait or not patrols will come. do it with 4 and fast.

So that's why people don't activate the terminal! Really glad you dropped this nugget of knowledge.
This has been disproven. It is simply being in the vicinity of the artillery that triggers it. I still gather them up first though just as a superstitious thing.
I gather them up first because I want to make sure I don't load five smoke shells and find there was a sixth shell that had an explosive of some kind (or at least napalm) :P
Bro throat is begging for a break😭😭😭

The "drill seargent" gets me every time. I love it
The community should thank you more for the info you give to us players
Thank you!
Here's a tip: load the shells in order from highest yield to lowest. There's no guarantee that you'll be able to use all the shells by the time you extract, so to get the most out of it, it's best to use the biggest ones first. The order I always use is: Mini Nuke, High Yield Explosive, regular Explosive, Napalm, Static Field, and Smoke. Smoke is a last resort and is to be used only if there are no other options.
If you haven't fired a smoke shell yet, consider yourself lucky, because they are trash as an artillery shell and even worse trash at what they're actually supposed to do.
Fr they need a rework to have it airburst then fall down into place like a curtain dropping
Smoke & Napalm REALLY need some radius buff... Especially smoke.
bro is the sergeant dornan of helldivers 💀
You can "throw" the shells by swapping weapon just as the shell hits your hands. The timing is very tight but with practice you'll get it pretty consistent, you can practice the input on explosive barrels if you want to practice on missions with downtime if you're waiting for objectives or extractions. Throwing shells is way faster than the pickup and drop method and can let you move multiple shells at once, definitely a tech you should learn, easier on keyboard than controller but not impossible, just gotta be faster.
If you see Smokes or EMPs try and look for other shells. Each SEAF spawns with 7 possible shells so you can discard 2 shells and it's better to make them all explosives if you can. You don't want to throw a smoke at a Factory Strider.
If you get a Mini Nuke try and remember it's position in the queue (first one loaded launches first). It's the only Stratagem in the entire game that can kill Automaton Gunship Facilities. Every other one doesn't really matter cause they're all variations of kill thing, the Mini Nuke is the only one with a unique interaction.
Underrated comment
Very good advice. Thank you sir.
I knew mini nuke explosion looks like hellbomb for a reason!
You can also juggle multiple shells with the pickup and drop method if you're fast enough at button mashing.
DONT TOUCH THAT SMOKE ISTFG
Bro fr any time I see someone with a smoke on a terminid mission I always make them drop it
I NEVER THOUGHT OF NOT TOUCHING THE TERMINAL AND IT MAKES SO MUCH MORE SENSE!!!
I guess a tip you can use is memorizing the order you put the shells in cuz imagine firing a mini nuke at like a patrol of enemies and then getting yourself injured or killed thinking it was a EMP field
(Keep up the great work Helldivers)
What me and my friends do is to write the shell order in chat so that we don't forget whether it will be a smoke or a nuke
@@braxbsjoan W
I always try to put them in the same order of type.
Mini-Nuke
HE
Explosive
Napalm
Static
Smoke
If I get a Mini-Nuke or HE I tend to save it for big targets like the crater nests to maximize its killing potential
Lay them out before activating the terminal. Then activate it and place them in the order you would like. Call it out as you put them in too so everyone knows in the group. The chat idea is a good one.
He said that in the last video regarding the SEAF artillery
can you please upload a cover of louis armstrong what a wonderful world
I remember a time my buddies were playing and we somehow unintentionally coaxed a Bile Titan to stand over the SEAF artillery right as it fired, and it killed it on the spot. 1 shot. 1 kill. It was awesome.
Legally distinct Mr. Torque
This man is giving Sargent Dornan a run for his money
Actually no, enemies just kinda know you’re at the artillery whether you activate the terminal or not. To prove this i remember many times where i was getting overwhelmed by the sheer amount of patrols even if the terminal was off. However, if you don’t want a million patrols to spawn of you, don’t complete the main objective, it will increase the amount of patrol spawns dramatically! (Basically do the main objective last instead of first)
I think this is a new thing. This is what I see now as well but tip used to be correct. You could actually see them spawn when you activated the terminals if you happen to be looking the right way.
Activating the terminal makes new enemies spawn tho which is even worse
@@AlenB29 Incorrect, it does not, this was disproven.
@@AdmiralTailsumm no, no it hasn't!!! Tho they do have more patrols around it, leaving the terminal off do help to not get swarmed while finding the shells
@@jam2190 nope. Been the same since day one and it's never changed. There are more patrols now and you see them more frequently. The Seaf takes maybe 2-5 minutes to complete and it's enough time for 2-3 patrols to show up. In the past it was more like 1-2. They'll show up regardless if the terminal is on or not.
Terminals DO NOT activate enemies. It's been exhaustively tested.
If I do it 100 times it makes my dad come back with the milk
That’s it. It’s been about a month that I have ran into this guy. I’m subscribing. Too legendary to not 🤘👏
Thank you 🫡
I love your channel man, that gruff voice is EXACTLY what these pups in the field need to get their shit together!!!!!
I hate it when my buddy and I load up the arty and then some random joins and yeets the mini-nuke at a single low threat enemy
Not the Cheetos 💀💀🤣🤣
Slowest to fastest:
1. Dropping/picking up artillery as you walk.
2. Dropping then sprinting+picking up artillery for more distance.
3. Dropping artillery, sprinting a bit until you’re the max distance from it while still being interactable, interacting with it to pick it up and immediately switching weapons to “throw” it. Bonus points if you’re looking up to get more distance on the throw.
You can 'throw' the shells and explosive barrels by swapping your weapons while the shell is flinging into your hands. It stops the animation but it doesn't stop the shell's momentum.
Bro should feature on the tv you have the super destroyer, dude’s got the “Brash Tactics” air down pat 😂
The terminal only makes a patrol investigate. I used to lie prone to let them pass, back before I realized it's just safer to not activate the terminal until you have all the artillery shells ready to load.
If you spam the load button when you're holding a shell and there's one lying on the ground, you can bug out the artillery and make it only load 4 shells meaning you can't complete the objective
Bro got that Arch Dornan ahh voice🙏😭
Cheetoh crusted fingers, you know me so well! bwahaha
We need this drill sergeant type in the game, and all his tips xD
I've tried telling people to gather shells first, but very few listen
I wish you could still use your seaf after your destroyer has left orbit when you run out of mission timer
Is it possible to land ontop of the seaf barrel?
And if so would the fired shell detonate the instant it makes contact with me?
The mininuke destroys warship factories if you aim anywhere close to it, which is absolutely wonderful when you can't afford to raid the area and plant a hellbomb
That- never occurred to me that I should gather the shells I want beforehand… Thank you.
That explains why I always get attacked while doing the artillery.
*pops Cheeto in mouth*
I think I was the first Helldiver to start dropping the shells at the loading bay. I was doing this by the end of the first week. Once everyone else figured it out I started getting more patrols rolling across me while doing this. Before it never happened.
I was seeing a patrol or two while I set up and I’d just toss a turret and it wouldn’t be a problem. But in the past week or two it has really ramped up and I have ended up leaving several times and letting things cool down and bring the squad back. I’m fairly certain they’ve changed it to just showing up brings all patrols in the vicinity your way.
Didn't know about the terminal activating aggro but it makes sense now lol
SIR YES SIR! Is the only acceptable answer to this PSA, we need more awareness about the activation of the terminal attracting enemies!
I actually started stacking the shells by the gun before touching the terminal because I felt it was faster. Didn’t know it was tactically correct lol
Anyone with two brain cells could tell that the terminal called patrols down on your location, it's why I always tell the squad never to turn it on until all the shells are right next to the loader.
That's because you're no dummy 🫡
After loading and arming the SEAF artillery it used to show you the loaded shell type in your strategem list. Did anyone else see this? I'm wondering if this was something that only existed briefly between two patches or if it's dependent on planet type or something.
Yup been so many times in hell diver missions where people are still completely oblivious to how the game works.
The only reason people think breaking the boxes makes new shells is because some are quite well hidden between the boxes sometimes. Thing is, there's only ever 7 shells. If something does spawn them, you'd have to prove it by showing more than 7 shells being found.
You're no dummy!
I’m pretty sure it was confirmed that the terminal did not affect spawn rate. Simply being at the seaf site is what increases it
We need the narrator to voice some of these facts on the in game TV screen.
The round you load first is the first one that fires in case anybody didn’t know that
"See Fart-illary"
Wait… turning on the terminal draws in bugs? Ive had it where I get overwhelmed as soon as I start working in seaf and thought it was just bullshit luck
Sometimes you sound a bit like the Ammunation guy on the radio commercials in GTA San Andreas and I like it.
Thanks I didn't know about that last one. No wonder they begin to swamp you.
You can throw shells by dropping, then picking up and while mid pickup, switching weapons. Works best and the very start of the pickup. People tend to be surprised when I can toss shells across the zone
God I love this guy 😂
What I will advise is loading the first three rounds with whichever type of round you want. Because my dumb ass can't remember which rounds I loaded, I'll load one smoke before loading the mini nuke as the last round. The smoke let's me know all I have left is the mini nuke. This is probably useless for most of you but it works for me.
I almost always activate at arrival but never noticed attracting nearby patrols unless they are really close.
Its more that, in a group of 4 when everyone is off doing their own thing, triggering the console alerts the AI director to spawn patrols around you where there might not be any prior. Your team effectively might be doing other important things like objectives that get all the focus from patrols and bug holes or bot drops, leaving less resources for the AI to send at you. Activating the console (in theory) increases the priority to spawn things at you and will trigger focus on you in the event your team finishes their stuff before you do.
I have a question depending on the mission and what is needed. What should the rounds be loaded in like mini nukes last or mini nukes first?
Drop and pick up to move the shells much faster. It's a fairly known trick, but might as well mention it for people who don't know
You can yeet the shells if you switch to your primary after picking it up
Sometimes the shells DO spawn under boxes. I noticed a shell poking out of the side of a box once and broke it to load it. Rare and not intended.
they should give you a commercial in the super destroyers sorta like brasch tactics
i want them to add the ability to reload it later on, also it should be available after the destroyer leaves low orbit, just makes sense to me.
The SEAF artillery needs to stay active after the timer expires. Our super destroyer left orbit, but the SEAF is still planetside.
It uses the cpu from the ship, being planet bound doesn't help when the target cpus are to far away
Um, I’ve actually had occasions when I’ve set up SEAF artillery completely peacefully.
I still dont know if the last one is true.
There have been more than one time before activating the terminal, when a random patrol would wander into the area.
And with the increased patrols in solo for some null reason, it just feels like just another patrol wandering in.
Its like the tip to do missions faster because the longer you take the more enemies spawn. That was what the loading tip implied and what everyone said and believed.
But then im testing it showed there was no actual increase in enemy numbers outside of doing the main objective or something.
This could just be like that.
I figured out to gather the shells first after using it just one time. Team died like 5 times trying to finish loading it (very early into playing the game for me so low level team)
I think they changed it to just showing up causes enemies to come now. Thought it was just a fluke but I swear it happens every time now.
Every random I play with B lines it towards the console every time
I due to recent events im wondering if the shells spawns are related to difficulty. I have never seen a mini nuke on helldive, and my last 2 seif on helldive it was almost only smoke and ems
Ahhhhh, now I know why there's so many enemies.
Anyway, some tips for those who don't know it: Explosive shells can destroy Science labs (the optional objective)! Now, given the explosive rounds have a bit of a small aoe, you might nee dto be careful where you throw it, but if you lack a 500kg bomb, or anything else capable of doing the job, and you don't want to clear the area? THere you go!
Also, mininukes one shot factory striders.
ALSO, a tip, about Main Objectives, and the fact enemies swarm out after all mains are done!!!! Got them out here speed running mains, only mains, and it is a struggling fire fight jus to get to extract!!!!!!
Drop and pickup is fast, but doing it while walking sideways, is faster. (More distance per drop)
Someone once made a video showing that you could kinda throw the shells
I wish we could reload the extra shells after it fires
THANK YOU SIR MAY I HAVE ANOTHER!!!!
Unless they've changed it, activating the terminal does not affect enemy spawn. enemy patrols that are already near will agro, but no more than are already there
I wanna play with this guy so bad so i can be the dumb private and have him curse me out. Id be the happiest new helldiver ever
Damn yesterday was indeed my sister quinciañera jajajja
Can you reload the artillery after it’s fired off the five shots?
"Helldrivers"
Yes, that's a typo in the video I spotted.
Can the seaf artillery be reloaded after the shells have been fired?
Did you guys know that with E.A.T.s you can 1-shot the Automaton tanks by hitting their gun barrel. This applies to both the Annihilator Tank and the Shredder Tank
oh TIL about the terminal... didnt know that
Why does this guy sound kind of like automotive TH-camr spotto Aus
What's a Cheeto? Does he mean ChEagles? The Eagle-1 shaped cheesy snack with 500kg of flavor explosion in each bite?
Kids these days don't wanna believe about turning on that terminal. Then complain about why so many enemies show up after they do. Ima turn rogue on my team next time I see someone turn it on before we got the shells.
Honestly I think they changed this in the past week or so. Now it seems just showing up causes them to come from what I’ve seen recently
@@jamesa6693 that's what I was thinking as well. But they also increased the patrols and they pass by there regardless. So idk I'll have to investigate more.
I have told so many people not to turn on the computer until the shells are by the breech. And they do anyway. I just leave them to deal with the fallout. It actually ruined a game. The last 5 replacements were used up and they didn’t make it the extraction.
Ooooooh, thaaaaaats why people don't activate the terminal right away. Godammit. I'm the asshole. Lol
Static and smoke shells breaks in bug nests as long as the shell hits the nest directly
the patrol spawn is random. You can be standing there looking for shells with the terminal off and a patrol can walk on by any time. A patrol can and will go through if it took you long enough to load the shells regardless if the terminal is off or on
I always gather before hitting starting it
I often notice more non smoke non static options so I can have damage in all the shots. But sometimes I have to use smoke or static. Am I just missing them or does it vary how many you can get if each type of shell?
It’s random. My squad once got an entire magazine of mini nukes.
Always hate having to say multiple times to level 6's: "Don't activate the terminal." And what do they do? Activate the fucking terminal. So generally their left to fend for themselves as 6 Hulks charge them.
Good tip
You can juggle the shells and move faster towards the drop off location
Attaching the SEAF Artillery stratagem orb to a moving target will not cause the shot’s trajectory to change. It will always land where the stratagem orb first impacted
SIR YES SIR
Still don't understand why people load smokes when there's any other shell, it's worse than a smoke grenade
You don't have to activate the terminal to spawn 50 fucking patrols back to back. Just being near the damn thing is enough sometimes. I've spent 15 minutes trying to get ammo to the loader while constantly fighting patrol after patrol, some times double patrols. Sometimes I had time to reload my AC between patrols, sometimes I didn't. I only ever found 3 of the 7 shells that are supposed to spawn after walking all over the site several times and after fighting for about 15 minutes I bailed on the arty, killed the last outpost and just extracted. What makes with even more stupid is that I had Localized Confusion and killed all but one outpost. There should be damn near no patrols in the area, not one every 30 seconds, sometimes two. Also I was on a L4 so not even a hard difficulty.
