@Bluethunder 86 My pro controllers have never drifted compared to joycons, and also this is sort of off topic but the switch dpad feels way better and a bit more, like, satisfying.
For me I hate the PS4 controller for a few reasons. (I did grow up with PlayStation) 1) It's a bit small 2) It feels a bit cheap (joysticks peel off) 3) Not a big fan of the layout but as you mentioned this is more personal preference. 4) The Xbox One controller definitely feels nicer, fits the hand better and just overall has a nicer build quality. 5) Xbox Design Lab & the Xbox Elite Controller give you more customization options. 6) The touchpad and light bar feel like cheap last minute additions to fill up the space and make it look nicer. I haven't tried the Switch Pro controller myself so I wouldn't know for sure, but the Xbox controller definitely seems to be nicer in general.
I grew up with PlayStation but agree with your points. I can use any controller just fine when needed, but Xbox one and switch pro controller are definitely preferred
I would have suggested for a 3-way comparison to rank them from 1-3 in each category and then add up all the points for each controller at the end and see which has the lowest score.

I really like the Pro' Controller's d-pad for games where it is a constant tool, like platformers and picross. The Dualshock 4 d-pad is too slow to switch from one direction to another, and it's not as comfortable for long periods because of a high actuation force and a "mushy" feel, much like the mushy feel of the pro controller's face buttons. Switch Pro's d-pad is smooth feeling yet punchy and it complimented the relaxed, airbrushed ambience of BotW well for me. The DS4 d-pad, though, is great for action games with a fast pace where you need to quickly move your thumb from the left analog stick for movement to the d-pad to activate a skill or toggle the minimap. I use DS4 for the ARPG game Grim Dawn on my PC, and it works great because each direction is its own distinct button. It's very close to the much shorter left analog stick so you don't have to stop moving for more than a moment. Good for Dark Souls. BotW flavor and Dark Souls flavor, both a delicious controller experience every time.
Being a lefty that tends to be ambidextrous due to learning lots of things right handed as a child...I prefer the symmetry of a ps4 controller. I do like the xbox one triggers the best though. The switch controller being $80 makes it not as good as an xbox controller because you can have a very nice xbox battery setup for that price. I do like the simple micro usb charger system better as the cables can be found very cheaply. Now when playing super smash brothers I still prefer the Gamecube controller style oddlt enough, and I really liked the layout of ABXY on those better than any controller’s 4 buttons, but of the 3 in your contest I can smash ps4 buttons the fastest with exception to the xbox pro controller those are very nice but pricy. Still prefer the D-pad on a ps4 controller to all of them. I hate built in batteries when they go bad though its a much bigger issue. I feel like for value which is another category, PS4 wins that as well, its $10-$20 cheaper than a pro nintendo controller and priced similar to xbox one controller and you get more features. So if I only had one controller to use Id pick ps4 as my choice.
Pro Controller is my new favourite current gen controller. Beats Dualshock 4 easily and just slightly beats XBONE. The Dualsense looks amazing though, so it might have some competition

I’ve used the PS4 and Xbox controller and I’ve always liked the offset thumbsticks because it feels more natural and the PS4 layout Is still good but doesn’t feel as natural. The grips on the Xbox thumb sticks are much grippier than the PlayStation ones. Personally, I think PS4 face buttons are much better as they are flat and bigger than Xbox buttons. Xbox buttons are rounded so my fingers tend to slip off the buttons most of the time while the PlayStation ones are flat so my fingers stay on there and it’s easier to press. Xbox buttons are definitely more clicky but feel cheaper and more hollow compared to the PS4 buttons which feel more premium and solid. I like the PS4 d-pad more because it’s separated so I know what I’m clicking and won’t make any mistakes while playing games and the d-pad is a lot quieter. The Xbox d-pad is joined so I could make mistakes and press the wrong button and it’s louder and clickier. For comfort I prefer the Xbox controller because of the ergonomic shape it just falls into my palms and my thumbs on the offset sticks feel more comfortable than the PS4 controller. The PS4 controller is more rounded so it doesn’t fall into my palms and I get some strain in the parallel sticks. I’ve always preferred PlayStation bumper buttons due to the more tactile feel and in my opinion the Xbox bumper buttons are so loud and are like clicky like a mouse and it feels terrible. Triggers on Xbox are better because they’re bigger and go down a lot smoother and is easier to press down. However, I prefer the grip on the triggers on the PS4. Also, the PS4 share button is a deal breaker for me as I can easily take screenshots, record and upload clips, broadcast live streams and more with the ease of pressing the share button. The touchpad is another great addition for easier typing and is used as a button in many games and is very good. It’s clicky and quiet and Is great for claw players like me. The light bar on the PS4 controller is nice as it gives life to the controller and is good for gaming at night or it can be used as a flashlight. It does drain battery but you can bring up the quick menu and set light bar brightness to dim. I’d rather have a rechargeable battery over double a batteries or buying rechargeable batteries or a battery pack. Sony is amazing for having a rechargeable battery built into the controller but the battery life is not that good and I wish it used a USB-C port instead of Micro USB because USB-C has faster charging and I wish it had a better battery. I like the sync button on the Xbox controller to pair the controller to the console because it’s much easier then plugging in a micro-usb cable into the controller then pressing the ps button and then unplugging the cable. That’s what I have to say about both controllers

For the battery, I personally like the PS4 controller because you dont have to buy batteries for it everytime it slows down u just have to charge it thats it just saying dont know about other peoples opinion but I like the PS4 controller in many ways.
@@BubbaBrons Too bad the Batteries can leak on the controller so it can get destroyed Or too bad that I dont have to buy batteries for the xbox to even CHARGE with a cable
I think shapes are the best tbh because they're far more recognisable, allowing you to learn the button placements far quicker and if you do have to look down they are far more distinguishable than X and Y for example. However, the best button placement tutorial or whatever goes to Breath Of the Wild for me, because it showed all 4 buttons with the one you have to press highlighted meaning you never had to look down. A very good idea by nintendo or whoever did it first.
My current gripe about ps4 controller is the lack of aerodynamic belly. This means the middle finger digs into the underbelly of the controller. Meanwhile, the xbox controller has an tapered belly which helps hand comfort.
i’ve put like more than 500 hours on the switch pro controller and i can confirm that the dpad IS cheap lmao. the buttons on the dpad are unreliable and can often register incorrectly. which is a shame since it’s the best of the 3 since it feels the best in the hands.
I have ps4 pro and xbonex, have to say that I've come to like dualshock a bit more, since xbone controller feels kinda bulky and the thumbsticks somehow "loose" after using dualshock. If only dualshock had better grip on those thumbsticks it would dominate easily. Also share and option buttons are weirdly placed, never seem to find them easily without looking at the controller. But overall, playability 9,5/10.
Sorry for late reply, you can swap out the xbox1's sticks into a ps4 controller just swapping from the analog modules. the xbox sticks feel slightly taller with a skinnier feeling neck than the default sticks in the ds4 controller, and it's overall not a bad experience if you prefer the grip of xb sticks. allows for more fine control of sticks too because of the added height
Give the Gamecube controller the PS4'S touch pad; 6 buttons on the center for the Home, Start, Select, Screenshot-Video, Media-Share/play, ConsoleMatching; same GC triggers but PS4 trigger functionality still, 2 additional button diagonally like N64 controller on each side (optionally for mapping), make analog to be button press compatible. Wireless/Wired options, make it PC compatible and firmware re-mapping and firmware emulating compatible on PC and console matching (make the pc think its a PS1/PS2/XBOX/XBOX360/XboxOne/SwitchProController/Wii-WiiU-ClassicController/Dreamcast/N64, ArcadeCompatible, emulators or change its firmware on pc to pair on actual consoles just the same) Make a beast like this that and you got yourself a master key controller that can do about anything.
im a ps4 fan, but i do have to say that the switch controller is better than both xbox and ps4 because of how good the sticks are, the buttons, and the layout is just perfect.
If you use PS4 controller with an adapter on Switch, you can still use the motion controls. It's just that not many non Switch games take advantage of the motion controls.
i actually prefer digital shoulder buttons. GCN had analog shoulder buttons and i didn't like it, save for race games. Never been into playstation controllers since they introduced the analog sticks waaaay back when. I liked the original ps controller. Felt like a better snes controller. but the weird placement of the sticks never felt right to me.
Switch for me. Rechargeable, unsymmetrical layout, Bluetooth 5.0, advanced gyroscope, speaker, nice everything. But PS4 is for sure my second. Best part about Switch and PS4 is the lack of toxic-ness in their online servers.
Also in the "features" section, I'd like to add that the dualshok 4 is an awesome PC controller, that touchpad is a miracle, you can map it to almost everything, 3Ds/NDS touchscreen, A Mouse, or just to have more buttons the possibilities are truly infinite, but it has some issues, compatibility issues mostly, you can fix them with some work though
Thanks man, just what I needed! I'm deciding on getting 8bitdo for my dualshock to use on my switch or get a nintendo pro. I just was looking for a direct comparison to make a decision :)
Same here. I think I'll probably get the adapter since I already have a PS4 controller. Though I agree the Switch controller would be better, it's not worth all that extra money I'll have to spend.
Honestly, even though this comment was 2 years ago so there's no point in responding now, in my opinion you have to hold the switch pro controller to know if it's for you. A lot of people call it the greatest controller but it's honestly not for me, I held it and it wasn't as comfortable as a ps4 controller or even just both joy cons. But the person who's controller it was loves it so it's really just personal preference
Tbh the Switch Pro Controller takes the best things from the DualShock 4 and the XBone Controller and combines them Has the great layout of the XBone, the good D-Pad, and even the buttons feel amazing! Imo the Switch Controller is the best, with the DualShock in 2nd, and XBone in 3rd The XBone always felt MUCH too clicky and cheap and weighed very light imo The DualShock has the worst layout out of the bunch easily, and the sticks don’t feel too great
I prefer the PS4 controller because I grew up with it and I had the original PlayStation 1 and I love Sony and I never had the original Xbox and never had Nintendo switch but my mom has the wii and I never brought Nintendo before and I mostly like the way the PS4 feels to me and I like how it has a color light bar that changes colors when you play certain games and not like the Xbox one or the Nintendo switch don’t have that feature so overall I prefer PlayStation 4 than Xbox one and Nintendo switch period
things ps4 controller has that xbox doesn't: 1. touchpad 2. share button 3. light bar that can change colors according to the game (like flashing red and blue in gta when the you're wanted) 4. speaker 5. rechargable 7. motion control things xbox controller has: 1. offset analog sticks
i actually like the ps4 stick placements cause in certain games i can move while using the dpad for other functions at the same time and thats somthing i can never do with an xbox pad
For me it would have been: D-Pad: PS4 Analog Sticks: Switch Buttons: Switch Triggers: PS4 Look: Switch Feel: Switch Features: PS4 Battery: Switch (Some people might be like “WHAAA” for the triggers but I dislike the lack of click) So that makes it: Switch: 5 PS4: 3 Xbox One: 0 (sorry Xbox fans)
Features of dualshock: lights, touchpad and analog triggers Switch features: gyro, hd rumble and player lights (the four dots) Xbox one features: it has buttons? Oh and triggers
I love both the Wii U Pro Controller and Switch Pro Controller cause the battery life is longer than Xbox One or PS4. And I could play Splatoon better with those controllers.
I like the Wii U Pro Controller was like the 360 or One Controller but it feels better with both of the analog sticks on the top instead one is at the top and the other at the bottom and more battery life was a great thing than the shitty battery life from the GamePad
Capture is not really used that much and PS4 and Xbox have it, most people don’t use gyro either, nfc is just for them toys that are a waste of money anyway and xbox and PS4 both have rumble
Dont get the black one get the wired one..its around 30-40 dollars..but the uhh wireless one, the one in the video is 70 dollars which is more expensive, so i prefer the wired controller.....dang i sound smart😂
My pro controller what I do is every night before I go to sleep I plug it in and that's not a big problem because I'm playing my monitor so that means it never dies
Sorry man but the dpad on the Nintendo is the best dpad on any controller ever it have been proof it’s not just my opinion Nintendo created and still hold the king of dpads
Him: "Switch controller headphone jack, therefore out of the running." Me: "Dude, it's literally on the console and works when docked you dense cabbage."
For the Xbox one controller you don’t have to spend money or by double a battery’s, you can just plug in the micro usb to the controller and it will turn on. You don’t need double A batteries or rechargeable battery
@@bread7171 People dont even understand what drift is. Everyone thinks that pro controllers drift because people who broke their controllers have said that they drift. P.S. Well the Nintendo switch can use headphones, you just gotta plug it into the console itself and sit right up to it unless you have an cable extension. 10:54
Xbox controller is the best. Period. You want explanation? Analog sticks at the bottom
The D-Pad is separated
Nintendo Switch Pro Controller
PROS:

The PS4 controller doesn't have 35 Minutes of battery life
@@itzadam9359 well it does have one from 30 minutes to 40 i guess

It was kinda because multiple question were rated literly to personal i dont know how to properly explain it i mean he literly gave a point because of nostalgia
For the battery, I personally like the PS4 controller because you dont have to buy batteries for it everytime it slows down u just have to charge it thats it just saying dont know about other peoples opinion but I like the PS4 controller in many ways.
the switch pro controller h
as the best battery. it lasts 40 hours
Too bad that the DS4's battery dies faster than my happiness.
Too bad that giant af light on the back drags the battery down
@@BubbaBrons Too bad the Batteries can leak on the controller so it can get destroyed
Or too bad that I dont have to buy batteries for the xbox to even CHARGE with a cable
When I make my console, the buttons are gonna have numbers instead of letters or shapes
Yay I love the Nintendo switch
My switch would start telling me that my battery is low like 7 hrs before it dies lol

Unreliable dpad for precision 2d games + lack of analogue shoulder buttons...
I charge my switch pro controller one a month
@@MPSTG_brb I prefer digital buttons cause it's less travel so it's much faster to shoot
@@thatwaver8309 I do as well for a lot of games, but some are undeniably better with them (grid autosport, trials rising, the upcoming WRC 8...)
My current gripe about ps4 controller is the lack of aerodynamic belly. This means the middle finger digs into the underbelly of the controller. Meanwhile, the xbox controller has an tapered belly which helps hand comfort.
This kid really just said that the switch dpad feels cheap
i’ve put like more than 500 hours on the switch pro controller and i can confirm that the dpad IS cheap lmao. the buttons on the dpad are unreliable and can often register incorrectly. which is a shame since it’s the best of the 3 since it feels the best in the hands.
@@2chalk how about the buttons (a, b, x, y)
Caleb Longden the ABXY buttons are great , they press down softly unlike the joy cons, and they’re easy to use.
@@2chalk oh ok thanks
Worst and probably the only part that isn't good. I wish they kept the solid feeling of the 3DS and DS dpads
The switch pro is the same battery as the Nintendo 3ds
Wireless/Wired options, make it PC compatible and firmware re-mapping and firmware emulating compatible on PC and console matching (make the pc think its a PS1/PS2/XBOX/XBOX360/XboxOne/SwitchProController/Wii-WiiU-ClassicController/Dreamcast/N64, ArcadeCompatible, emulators or change its firmware on pc to pair on actual consoles just the same)
Make a beast like this that and you got yourself a master key controller that can do about anything.
ACTUALLY THE JOYCONS ARE THE BEST! THEY HAVE DRIFT
TheRealEpic21 amazing for mariokart
YEAH!!!
IMO it's
#1 Switch
#2 Xbox
#3 PS4
Yeah
Yeah ps4 is soooo uncomftarble and has a worse dpad than both of them
im a ps4 fan, but i do have to say that the switch controller is better than both xbox and ps4 because of how good the sticks are, the buttons, and the layout is just perfect.
Switch pro controller motion control aim is a game changer. It makes aiming with controller amazingly comfortable and accurate.
If you use PS4 controller with an adapter on Switch, you can still use the motion controls. It's just that not many non Switch games take advantage of the motion controls.

Céfiro De Winter I’d say gyro is better for aiming tho
@@stanleybowman-hood6194 they didn't say to use the touch pad for aiming though
Pro Controller imo
I grew up with PlayStation controllers but been loving Xbox set up since Xbox 360 and now Xbox one
@@yeetyeetpotatoskeet7948 I ended up getting a pro controller :) Though I like sony controllers the best in the end
Tbh the Switch Pro Controller takes the best things from the DualShock 4 and the XBone Controller and combines them
Has the great layout of the XBone, the good D-Pad, and even the buttons feel amazing!
Imo the Switch Controller is the best, with the DualShock in 2nd, and XBone in 3rd
The XBone always felt MUCH too clicky and cheap and weighed very light imo
The DualShock has the worst layout out of the bunch easily, and the sticks don’t feel too great
Yeah but I like the xbone...
except the switch controller doesnt have trigger variation making it much worse for games that have driving for example

things ps4 controller has that xbox doesn't:
1. touchpad
2. share button
3. light bar that can change colors according to the game (like flashing red and blue in gta when the you're wanted)
4. speaker
5. rechargable
7. motion control
things xbox controller has:
1. offset analog sticks

Analog Sticks: Switch
Buttons: Switch
Triggers: PS4
Look: Switch
Feel: Switch
Features: PS4
Battery: Switch
(Some people might be like “WHAAA” for the triggers but I dislike the lack of click)

PS4: 3
Xbox One: 0 (sorry Xbox fans)

So thats why I like the nintendo switch
Jacob Long you do know without the Xbox controller the switch wouldn’t even have the layout...just sayin
Features of dualshock: lights, touchpad and analog triggers
Switch features: gyro, hd rumble and player lights (the four dots)
Xbox one features: it has buttons? Oh and triggers
Handsome_ Squidward12 look at the GameCube and SNES controllers, which both came out before the Xbox Original controller.

Cameron Howe yeah they’re so much easier to use
Of course
I love both the Wii U Pro Controller and Switch Pro Controller cause the battery life is longer than Xbox One or PS4. And I could play Splatoon better with those controllers.
Wii u pro controller is a shitty version of the xbox controller but with more battery life
I like the Wii U Pro Controller was like the 360 or One Controller but it feels better with both of the analog sticks on the top instead one is at the top and the other at the bottom and more battery life was a great thing than the shitty battery life from the GamePad
The dpad directions should be connected to each other because it is a pain to play 2d platformers with a separated dpad
So Switch basically won since it does have the best features: Capture, gyro, NFC, HD rumble.
