As a Australian Air Force cadet, This my second year (Leading Cadet, equivalent to Lance Corporal) I am issued with the same as you but they are the newer overcoats with the rank slide on the front with a second pair like yours, a HFFK or your equivalent to a KFF, Chin strap, Blue Hat Puggaree and a hat badge, a belt, ceremonial blues, hand me down pack and webbing (you can buy your own) and Black boots. We might be treated better and we might be a bit easier but I was very curious how your ranks work and I am confused on how a cadet can be promoted to SARGEANT without anyone caring, We have to go through each and every single one.

This is a good video but you forgot to add that depending on what unit you are in will dictate what you get and when you get it. For example the garrison jacket “army jacket” are only given to NCOs of my unit and the black belt and slouch hat are only given to you once you have completed the cadet course “recruit induction course”. However like I said this dose change depending on unit.
I got given the old old old type of shirt, my unit is going to hopefully get us all in the new uniforms sometime next year, the pattern will be smaller and a bit darker

I'm the quater master for the tas battionlion we don't issue the green army jacket and the black belt and slouch hat give out on promotional courses, ceremonial events(Anzac and legacy) but if you reach cadet you get a KFF
The Army cadets get all the non issued uniforms now they not allowed the new multicam uniform technically they are not supposed to wear anything with The Australian Army written onit as they are not members of the defence force

Coming from a cadet sergeant, it took me 2 years. However it does depend on your unit, basically the size, number of NCOs (basically just cadets with rank), your merit, and age. Hope this helped

Yeah I completely agree. And a while ago we had our Lieutenant’s daughter join the unit and she got one of the newer uniforms compared to us. We have all learned to laugh about it though.

My CUO said buy a giggle hat after becoming a cadet he said it was more comfortable for afx and biv idk and also we were told on the bush hat to put it inside the hat to completely hide it once again idk anyway i become a cadet on the 30th of novenmber lol

@@umairi2064 i dont know if you want to know but i had 3 grandfathers serve in the vietnam war 1 died a few years ago from a tumor caused by agent orange 1 we lost contact with after the war and 1 stood on a landmine in Vietnam and was in a wheelchair for 11 years and is still alive and 1 served in ww2 KIA in singapore in the 2/4th machine gun battalion i believe d company 14 battalion previously serving in 16 battalion Hard to believe but its true i promise

I applied for an experience in arm like situations, my family is in the ADF, It makes it easier to join the army when I’m older and I want to become a sniper for the Australian Defend Force and this would make it a lot easier.

I’m starting next year and it looks really fun and good but one thing they need to do is have a huge big open land space and split the teens up and give em airsoft rifles to make them live in like a situation but that just what I think thanks for the content Edit: sorry trying to start next year bc at the moment I’m just a month or two young and my friend and I our joining together next year maybe if we pass btw is it hard to pass to get into the cadets and do you get issued with the stuff before you start or do you need to keep doing it for a couple of weeks till you get issued and when you get issued do they mail it to you or do you need to pick it up?

@@umairi2064 a lot of QLD units didn’t give recruits KFF’s but that got changed this year.

Thats mostly wrong, as of I think 2015 the Cadet Corps (Army, Navy, Airforce) have all been somewhat recognised as a branch of the ADF.

That’s not necessary mate whenever you need to be recognised by ranks you would be in full uniform, and anyway your unit would know your rank
