Wow, lovely comparison and reaction. As you've noticed Tori's voice is a constant creator of 'Wows'.
Yeah, it's a shame about the sound on the Perry Como clip, not the greatest mix meaning his voice wasn't distinct. The reason I mouthed a Wow at the end of the video is because I truly believe this is one of the most beautiful vocals I've heard on any song, cover or otherwise. It's just such a shame that Perry is no longer around to hear it. I'm sure if he had he would've insisted Tori appeared with him on his show.

Beautiful reaction Rob! I totally agree both were home runs, each in their own way. What inspired Dan to reach out to Tori, this was their first song together, was his seeing Carpenters on a Perry Como TV show. Karen sang only one verse of this. When they performed a duet with Perry singing each other’s hits. Dan wondered what it would’ve been like if Karen had sung the entire song. So he reached out to Tori. And there we have it.
Also spot on of Dan mouthing Wow! He’s in the UK so he received her video to add his piano to. She was listening to his piano track to sing it. Can you imagine hearing that voice to your piano! OMG.
We all want more from these two! In the mean time we did just get another from her USA collaborator, Jim Wilkas. They very recently released their newest collaboration, a cover of Close To You. Can I say I already know how you will feel. LOL I’ve linked it below! Have fun!

That was a great reaction Rob, especially when you showed your vulnerability. You know you have great artists when they can make you feel emotional. That is the purpose of song Yes?
On another note, personally, I have an issue with the term cover. You have those that do songs from other artists in a mediocre way and I would call those a cover. But when you have extraordinary artistry like this, I would call it a reimagination, recreation, or reincarnation. It is special and goes way beyond the connotation of a cover. Just IMO. Thanks for all.
