doing same swap except from a 240 6 cylinder to explorer 302. The engine perches are the game changer. Great work sir. Enjoyed the video. Thumbs up to you
Did you have to swap perches? I am going from a 360 to 302 roller from a foxbody and I am stuck there. Cant find any local shops that want to take it on and would really like to drive this thing
It's a shame that old bumpside has so much rust. It's a nice looking pickup until you get close enough to see how bad it really is. With that chassis in the shape it is there's no point in replacing sheetmetal. It's just a matter of time before more springs break and the body mounts give way. Not hating on it. I'm a bumpside fan. I own 4 and have been building and restoring them for 30 + years. What a shame. It either sat in tall grass for many years or its lived for some years where they salt roads. Looking underneath in the video , it's clear the bed and cab floors and mounts etc are too far gone to bother trying to replace considering the chassis corrosion is so extensive. Love and drive it. Just don't pressure wash it any further or your going to be wishing you didn't. But it doesn't matter because the damage is done. Hope it's not as bad as it looks in the video but unfortunately it's likely worse. But if you got it cheap enough , you got some nice parts if nothing else. And they are getting ridiculous price wise
Why do you sound like a young Rob Pitts, are you his kid? This is my first video, watching you, so, if you are, I wouldn't know. You look like him too!

Thank you for watching the video and your comment. Hopefully it helped you a bit!
Very good video and informative. I will be doing this exact same swap to my 79 this winter. Thank you and keep up the cool vids.
Cool vid! My 68 lost its 240 for a 427 stroker. Loads of fun 😊
The fact that 3/5 of these comments is haters is just trash. Quit hating on what this man does with his money time and vehicle
Can u reuse the old wiring?

Thanks buddy. I like that color also. I don't have this one anymore so I can't help you with that paint code sorry. Thanks for watching my video!!

Did you have any issues installing the clutch linkage that bolts on the motor
A lot of work for 2 extra work for two cubic inches The 4.9 300 6 is a great motor. good video
302 has no business being in a truck. but this is just gonna get put it around by some old man, so I guess it’ll be fine.
Nothing wrong with a 302 in a old 2 wheel drive pickup. It's plenty for that truck with 4 wheel drum brakes doing the stopping.
@@leadfoot8593 shoot your insane roller 302s with a few bolt ons will have 300hp.
How much for the 6 cylinder engine purches. Will they work on a 75

Why would you pull the front end off if you got the hood off a lot of extra work

Those wheels should be illegal. ;)
