I love seeing black people in diverse jobs/industries. For far too long we have been taught there's only a few paths for us. More of this 👏
Watch the episode of Adam Ruins Everything about The Old West where 1 of the topics he brings up is that many cowboys were African American and Latino, but the film industry refused to show them in movies.
Many of the cowboys were Black and Latino? Where do you think cowboys actually come from? The Spanish, then the descendants, mestizo Mexicans, continued in the haciendas, including California, New Mexico and Texas that used to be part of Mexico. Other white Europeans simply adopted the tradition. As they do other cultures, such as music and dance, then pronounce it as their own. That episode is obviously not worth watching!
Gabriela Feliciano First Cowboys were Americas Natives. But the first cowboys in North America which is the U.S. now were black.
I just like seeing like minded people to myself. I’m not into horses but I’m totally about anyone doing what they’ve got a passion for. Just be who you are and be as happy as you can without negatively affecting others. That is the pursuit of happiness to find your love. So great.
Once at a parade the Black Horse Riders had the horses dancing with them. It was AWESOME. I took my kids but I think I was more hype than they were bcuz until that point I only knew the history, that they still existed, & had seen pictures or videos. I felt like a kid again lol.

How do you find information on upcoming trail rides?
I’m supportive of this riding club. But black people need to concentrate exclusively on black people. I don’t understand how after being discriminated against and shut out of everything that as soon as we create something we can’t wait to start letting other people into it. That’s a flaw that needs to stop.
