Look who it is! Chris V. has been my Logic Pro instructor since I switched over to Logic and the M1 architecture. Glad to see you hanging with the Izotope crew.

Woooooo!!!!!!! This Rx's Spectral De Noisier Is The Beast!!!!!!! It Removes All The Noise Without Compressing The Vocals Or Compromise In The Audio Quality. Which No Other Plugins Could Achieve So Far!!!!!!!! Salute!!!!!!!!!!!

Im new to RX and the module chain is exactly what i needed. Before watching this video i was doing this manually but now i see how valuable the module chain will be moving forward with cleaning dialogue especially when i have specific voices i clean on a regular basis. i can see creating presets for the same voice on different microphones. This is the long way of saying thank you!

Thanks, that was a great overview of RX's spoken word cleaning features. I am an amateur voice artist and my own audio engineer. Until now I have processed such noise by hand. Actually, I am of the opinion that editing with plugins should be kept at a minimun amount. But your presentation convinced me. I will get the RX 11 Standard, which, as far as I know, contains the functions presented. Many greetings from Germany. Alexander

As someone who uses RX 9 and does video tutorial voice overs, this is substantially good advice to adhere to! I love the software! Great guide Chris!

Thanks Chris for the video. I do voice overs on a regular basis and consider RX a game changer. I defined it as my external editor within Logic and use a similar method as yours with a customized module chain. The advanced version is a must if you work on dialogue editing. Such a powerful set of tools!

21:40 Not just in Logic Pro though!
In fact ARA was developed by Presonus and Celemony for Studio One in use with Melodyne.
I mean, it's thanks to Presonus and Celemony that they opened ARA to other developers that it works so (finally, years after Studio One) Logic Pro can do it.

    • @WhyLogicProRules
      @WhyLogicProRules 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Absolutely correct! My note regarding ARA must not have been clear. RX9's implementation of ARA for the Spectral Editor and Music Rebalance is currently only available in Logic Pro, according to Izotope's website. So I was just pointing out that at this point in time Logic users can enjoy the extra benefits of ARA.

Don't you ever find artifax from using the module chain? There are times I compare the unprocessed audio to the processed and find problems and then wind up going in and having to surgically fix the file.

I have a basic question that's not in the manual or any videos I've seen, including yours on TH-cam. If you run De-click on your track, how do you get the track to run with removed clicks when you render that track? I've run De-click on a track and it tells me 156 clicks were removed. Then I render that track, load it back in my DAW, put on another instance of De-click with the same settings and it finds 129 clicks. So what am I doing wrong? I have the plugin version of DeClick, not the standalone so there is no "render" button on the plugin and I'm rendering the track to WAV using my DAW.

How does Spectral De-Noise know what to learn when in a module chain? Isn't that something you would have to manually "learn"? For instance creating a module chain of 2 or 3 Spectral De-Noise modules just to get all the unwanted noise out with multiple passes....

Great video! I'm a bit stuck. I have a RODECaster Pro 2 unit with my mic attached to it. I can record audio using any app (Adobe Audition, Adobe Premiere, Apple Keynote, etc), but can't seem to get any audio when using RX 9 to record. I went into RX 9 prefs and selected the correct input device (RODE Connect System), but when I press record it's just blank. Any reason why? Is there something else in the prefs that I need to select besides what I did? Let me know what you can please, thank you.

What an amazingly helpful Video, thank you. I have just purchased RX 10 Standard after thinking about it probably too long, and this Video made it so simple to sort out my first Podcasts. I have a couple of questions if you don't mind. I use a Rodecaster Pro 2, which outputs the file for Buzzsprout in an MP3 and sets is to LUF-16 as part of the output. Will my LUF change when I edit in RX or will it stay the same? and secondly I notice some of the nice rich bass that the Rodecaster puts on my voice, disappears after following this editing. Would you recommend I bring this back in RX or output to Logic and do it there? I am very new to Podcasting .. so thanks for any help here ! I obviously want to get it right from the start :)

How to get rid of the white noise when actually speaking into the mic? There is nothing until sound enters the mic from my mouth, then i hear this background white noise - how do we eliminate this completely? I'm new to this - is it my mic?

great tutorial, but WOW that gate is way too tight on your mic. If you are new to fixing audio in voice overs, don't make the mistake of using too much to "clean" audio. You can hear his gate killing the beginning and end of words sometimes and the lack of any breath at all, can make a voice over sound like AI or just off to the listener, especially in longer format voice over like a podcast or narration.

Hello Chris, interesting last name. Seems to be a bastardised version (probably by French speaking Belgians) of the Dutch name "Van de Vijver": from the pond. I guess the closest English equivalent is simply "Pond": Chris Pond. On the other hand.... Fisher is also a logical equivalent :).
Just in case you didn't know this yet. Greetings from the Netherlands!

CHRIS: Great content and so well presented - UNTIL - the last portion where I think you really rushed through the Logic portion to meet some artificial time constraint you place on the length of the video. I’ll check out your other videos as I am a new Logic user. Thanks for all your hard work.

Just got to say, the history is incredibly useful for when you're a newbie like me and accidentally leave "output clicks only" checked, and then render your audio. Yuck. Would not recommend doing that. OOPS...all clicks.
