Looking at your guides have really improved my play style. I currently have a goal of making it to green ranks. I legit feel like I don't have to be spammy to get there. Keep up the good work. SN: I'ma Law main. Edit: I made it to green ranks.
I am a law player too I learned a lot from your videos I reached the rank mighty ruler only because of your videos. Thanks a lot bro 👍👍👍👍 And now I am even an emperor player I am Arash Thanks a lot
Well done and informative video. I know when I first started incorporating sidestepping into my game I would often try to step and punish too quickly. Its important that people understand that once you hit an attack while stepping it will cause your hurt box to expand and will cause you to get hit everytime. Be sure to step, confirm a whiff, and then punish.
Yeah more people would play the game if we knew HOW with instructions as good as this. GUYS, how many of you know ALL of LAWS secret moves? I don't mean a few I MEAN ALL OF THEM? HOW MANY? Huh? :) I just watched "Marshall Law secret moves TEKKEN 7" (jaber Al Marri YT) I wish we could do a vid on those, how to do the moves were not shown in the vid (spoiler alert). BUT it just goes t show that this channel has done more for Namco then having no dam instructions. GREAT VID man and , really I Will never get tired of saying thank you, AND meaning it brother :)
This video deserves waaay more views. Props for making the most in-depth lateral movement guide on TH-cam! I know you briefly touched upon -6 to -9 (heavy disadvantage) situations, but just mentioning that there are other defesive options like parries, reversals, sabakis, low/high crush, evasive moves, low parry, low jab interrupt, fuzzy guard and backdash in addition to just blocking low or high would have been great. But I understand that this video was aimed at beginner-intermediate players to mainly explore the lateral movement, so it was probably for the best to stick with basics and not confuse them by cramming way too many technical concepts in one video. Once again, amazing video with great situational awareness, examples and editing!
Thanks. yes I briefly went thru the -7 to -9 area because I plan to make another video about panic moves such as the evasive moves, parries and reversals. Anyways thanks for the feedback.
Also can do bout tutorial Which timing able to do bout D1 D4 move when you are -9f & timing of counter or parry move, example jin d1 4 -9f he can't do d1 (start up 10f but active crouch stand need 4 frame)to stop opponent turn, not even can do stand parry move 10f jab (Parry start up 2-8f)
Outstanding content - I always learn when I watch or rewatch your videos. I'm confused about the situation at 6:30 where Dragunov does WR+2 into d/f+1. He puts us at -6 and then does a 13-frame attack which we can't sidestep. But aren't these frames equivalent to sidestepping a 10-frame attack from a -3 disadvantage?
Thanks for tips, but I got know longtime ago bout side which way against which character, the next u can try do bout character escaping move attack example Jin UF2 or Zenshin 2, Hwa B1, Feng UF2, Eddy B1+2, Xiao B1 annoying move when its ur turn & how to beat them.
You can use homing moves for those moves that move to the side, i.e. Feng uf+2, Hwo b+1 etc. Moves with long reach for those moves that move backward a.k.a backswings, Eddy's b+1+2, Lars db1+2 etc. But the best thing you can do is to backdash to bait them out and punish them on block/whiff.
Im an old veteran casual player...i was thinking ehh f it! Watch this video and maybe il learn something...My mind was blown to hear that sidestepping can be done with a single tap....i always thought it was double tap...Cant wait to get home and test that :D
Good stuff, but what about the grey area? (around -7 to -9) I remember reading a guide that at that frame disadvantage it is still possible to backdash cancel.
lol i forgot to label the -7 to -9.area. But I explained it anyway so nvm. To answer your question, backdashing the faster moves is also harder at worse frame disadvantages. For example a jab becomes very hard to backdash away from say at -7.
@@LegendKicker I see. Would be nice if you could make an in-depth video covering backdash mechanics, cause I always thought that you could backdash any high and mid move and still be able to block it, but a low would clip you, though I guess that I am wrong cause I suppose backdash works kinda like a fuzzy guard because of the d/b, b input
At -9, it is best to not move since a jab can clip your backdash if your input is not on point. At lower disadvantage, you can still backdash or bdc depending on the distance and what you think your opponent is going to do next (read/yomi). Depending on your character and disadvantage, you might also have other options like interrupting with a jab/low jab, parry, reversal, sabaki, low/high crush, evasive moves, fuzzy guard or low parry among others. Sometimes just blocking and be ready to react to a throw/seeable low is the best option, it all depends on the situation, your reads and opponent's habits/patterns.
@@peterramos5128 I wouldn't recommend cancelling if you're at range 0-1 because you might get hit by mids during db part and any mid would easily reach. The closer you are, the more valuable a single long backdash becomes. This video from Speedkicks further expands the concept: th-cam.com/video/zv7VdvDksdQ/w-d-xo.html
In my opinion, lateral movement in this game is made too difficult and unreliable. You never know when is the good time to step since even linear moves tracks, it’s just really difficult to SS consistently. It’s was much better on previous Tekken games imo. It’s always a bet and not something that properly works, imo only homing moves should hit steppers, and they should make the moves that looks homing but r not, for example D2 with Dragunov, homing with the white sparks. Moves like Law df2 or df2 Paul should not track either side, forcing the player to utilise homing moves as a strategy for people that steps a lot. Just a scrub opinion in purple ranks with Bryan but I find much mor enjoyable the movement in prior games.
This is the best sidestepping guide I've ever seen. Very detailed explanation of the concept. Nice job man!

Love ur videos, but no new video from long time
