Making a Hammered Silver Ring

Since my original wedding band is made of cobalt steel and is difficult to resize, I decided to make a sterling silver wedding ring with a hammered pattern. This was a fun diy project that really only needs simple tools.

Could I take a machine made silver ring and hammer it to make it look like this? Keeping it the same size

You could hammer it a little. Any hammering will spread some silver, making it a bit larger size. So if you could get a half size smaller than you need, you should be good.
