BG9 is one of the coolest, most unique characters in the Bleach universe. I am obsessed with him and It's a big shame Kubo decided to kill him in such a weird and illogical way. And, by the way, notice how we never really saw him being executed by Jugram. This makes me think that he might have been spared, because his abilities would be very useful for "someone's" return in the next arc.

The execution of Cang and BG9 was a dumbass decision, especially considering the fact that they didn’t lose and were able to use their Vollständig.

BG9 definitely had lots of potential, it sucked to see him and Cang Du killed off in such a disappointing way. Since we never see BG9 himself killed, I kind of hope he escapes in the anime, but that's probably unlikely. Hopefully we at least get his shrift, and kind of want to see him use his minigun too.
I hope they change this, or do something completely different... it was unlogical as hell, since there were others that failed just as much, and they didn't get killed. It's like Kubo didn't have ideas what to do with them, the same goes for Robert.
If not then maybe extended fight at least, such a cool character get very little time.
BG9 vs Senjumaru and Soifon vs Nianzal would have been better match ups. Nianzal would be a good counter to Soifon's fighting style and BG9 would seem like a better counter to Senjumaru. Even if he lost easily to her I would have liked to see him go all out.
Nah they fucked us over again. The showrunners clearly just want to get it out there instead of expanding and enriching the story and refining the arc into what it should’ve been. What a waste
Honestly, I do hope to see something on his Schrift and especially his backstory. Maybe his creator was one of the original Quincy from the first Thousand Year Blood War?
Given his glowing eye is similar to Pernidas and Gerards, and his true self is cloaked in darkness similar to how Pernida was while under his cloak, I always suspected he was a part of the Soul King.

I always thought the name "BG9" stood for "Battle Generator 009", while its Schrift K was related to the word "Kriegh" which translates "War" in German relating to war-machine most likely.
perhaps we could see its return in a more upgraded version in the next Hell arc "aka" BG10.
Maybe BG9 is the Mayuri of the Sternritters and the BG in his name are the initials of his name while the 9 is the model number of his body. I could be possible that if the K is the Knowledge allows him to gather/steal data aka knowledge from others and even transfer it to others or new host bodies but the more he transfers his mind the less human it becomes.
That book that As Nodt mentions with all the information on the soul reapers maybe it was bg9 who got the information with his shrift in the shadows watching everybody
BG9 appears in both openings and also, he has an extended fight in S1.
Im guessing he going to have a little more relevance in S2 in order to have a new playable character in the mobile game as Cang Du
Also, they didnt reveal his letter in the meeting like in the manga, so, thats going to happen now in the fight

BG9, an android who is obsessed with knowledge. The one time Marechiyo Omaeda fought hard like a boss to protect his younger sister from this ruthless machine. I hope he get to see BG9's shrift in the anime along with his extended fight with Marechiyo and Soi Fon.
He should have fought Mayuri. Kurotsuchi would have taken him in to fully analyse in his lab.

He'd probably get bored with him very quickly any then annoyed.
That would be interesting as they both are knowledge seekers. Plus, BG-9 is a robot which could make Mayuri's poison, drugs and paralysis useless against him.
Ever since learning that BG9 shares his Japanese Dub voice actor with Shawlong Koufang (although we’ll have to wait and see if the same thing holds true for his English Dub voice actor), I started to wonder: Could BG9 technically be Shawlong brought back and cybernetically modified/enhanced. I’m wondering due to the Quincys capturing Arrancars for their army and because BG9’s helmet kinda resembles Shawlong’s appearance as a Hollow?

Maybe Bg9 did survive his "execution", because when the aushwahlen struck the remaining sternritter there was one more pillar of light than the amount we knew that were still alive (An extra aushwalen beam), regardless I hope he and Cang du dont get removed from the scene so easily as in the manga
Maybe he was converted more into a Soulless killing Machine. Revealed he was originally a normal Quincy who was forced into the Mechanical Experimentation. 😂

Didn't think there would be a robot character in this Anime series, but it looks like there is one.... being an enemy Quincy of all things.
Considering he looks like Shawlong Qufang (esp. the latter's Adjuchas form), and has the same Japanese VA, I always figured they were either related or the same person somehow

I do wonder if the Schrift of BG9 was already known. The K could stand for Knowledge, if he’s obsessed with collecting data and info it makes sense and to be honest if that was the case it would be hard to exactly make that a Schrift that exactly appears if you know what I’m saying. It’s like a subconscious thing he does.
I doubt we'll get much in terms of his backstory, but I'm certain we'll get an extended battle.

Damn I never realized how much Omeyda had time to shine. He was one of the most useless lieutenants but seeing him in this helps develop that.
Still that’s going to be brutal to see in the anime
His character development is that he finally does a bare minimum of what a lieutenant supposed to do, instead of being a dead weight.

BG9 is so intriguing in concept because how was a Quincy automaton built? Who built him? Why did Ywach choose the automaton instead of his maker as a Sternritter? Most importantly, what is his Schrift?

BG9 represents the unfeeling, indifferent mechanical side to war that is present in modern warfare brought to the Shinigami. A drone if you will brought against Edo Era Samurai.

TBH I thought BG9 was a robotic metal sonic type character who just happens to be obsessed with collecting data for his research.But personality wise its just like how you summed it up.The dudes a stone cold bastard with the schrift called the Knowledge.Since I re-read a part of Bleach which further states that a Quincies Schrift is ability is reflected on the users personality similarily to the Soul Reapers.

Due to the amount of characters in this show its hard to get enough screentime for everyone, but atleast she is getting a proper fight which she hasn't had since way back with baraggan, and if BG9 is kept alive (the manga didn't explicit say he died) there are certain possibility he will return back later for revenge or something as he was gathering data. The good thing with the anime is that it can expand the stuff we didn't get to see in the manga, and my guess is that the anime in this cour is probably going to be slower in its pacing (3.5 - 4 chapters per episode) compared to first cour if it ends where I think it does. Also will we see Harribel at some point? The last thing that happened with her was being imprisoned by Yhwach in Silbern, so my guess she probably will appear much later (probably rescued).
Tell me about it. He couldn’t give her a even a half decent fight with the Quincy robot? She shows up surrounded by tornadoes after perfecting her Shunko and he couldn’t even give her a cool fight scene for the anime? Just instantly countered and blasted with laser eyes…
@@doginababyseat5127 Well its different when its manga panels. There are a lot of animes where fights are cut short in the manga, but once adapted to anime its given more screentime and showcase. The fact they had to adapt 5 chapters in to episode 2 made it hard to storyboard out a whole fight choreography due to time restriction. Its meant to be a less prioritied fight. However things could change in the manga forward so maybe she gets more screen time later in cour 3 and 4.
I feel like this guy should have fought Mayuri since they are both obsessed with knowledge and body modification...too bad he couldn't design himself a spine, someone so cruel and monstrous should be so until the end, not die begging like a coward when the tables turn.
I would point out that this also shows how much more powerful Barragan was than even many of the Sternritter, as he took Soi Fon's Bankai point blank in an enclosed space and still could come out swinging with enough power to overwhelm Hachi. The same Bankai that ended the fight with Sternritter K in one shot.
Honestly such an underrated character. A very mysterious one with a sad ending!

Is BG9 some how related to Grimmjows hollow friend? The Adjuchas that he killed? Cause the character is very simmilar.. And the Arrancar Shawlong Koufang has just the same character model as BG9 and this hollow.

BG-9 could have won against Soifon if he didn't stall around with his data gathering.
So funny how literal Terminator of Bleach, a type of enemy never seen before, gets treated like some cannon fodder, immediately defeated and forgotten. Seriously - I've barely seen anyone being interested in seeing more from him, almost nobody cares.
He's quite an empty character story-wise. But he's a perfect action character, armed to the teeth, with infinite potential for high-quality fast-paced action. Him with his miniguns, tendrils and rockets against agile fighter like Soifon? That could've been an eye candy to watch if handled using proper choreography.
Unfortunately, this fight most likely won't be prioritised - Hitsugaya hasn't stolen enough screen time yet.
Yeah he is mostly likely going to be a type of action character with not much background to him, also I wouldn't say he was cannon fodder as he almost won the fight and was still alive after he got defeated. The anime could change his faith where he makes a return again (only cang du was 100% confirmed to die in the manga).
So I am wondering if the data stuff he collected from soi fon is going to be forshadowed in the anime where he makes a return later in the cours with upgrades or something. It would fit so much considering soi fon barely has screentime later in the cours.
Hitsugaya + soi fon fight is probably going to take atleast 2-3 episode to conclude as the next episode seems to be ending with around 3 chapters, it really comes down to how the anime is rearranging the battles + anime canon stuff.

Yeah and the fact atsushi wakabayashi (legendary animator who worked on Naruto, etc) is working on this cour gives it more a reason to showcase some sakuga martial art animation (if he is not stuck with the main battles). Hakuda is criminally under utilized in the show because Bleach is mainly an sword fight anime, so hand combat rarely takes place.
I agree, in the proper hands this fight could be a masterpiece, maybe they give us a few extra scenes in that fight, but seeing how Unohana/Zaraki, White/Isshin, Ichigo and the gang/vs Quilge was handled i wouldn't count in that. Yama fight was slightly extended but after the beginning they go straight to flexing his abilities and inevitable death.
PS. Honestly im tired of Hitsugaya, and Bazz B is a copy character of Grimmjow, so im not really interested in that fight. Not to mwntion that unlike Soi fon he has much more screentime later, while she got offed by Lile like some trasg, which is very uncharacteristic for a speed/stealth character like her. Ugly treatment...
@@piotrj.451 Yeah it really comes down to where this cour ends which is going to affect the pacing. If I am not mistaken I have heard that episode 2 is going to end on chapter "stormbringer" which means 3 chapters compared to 4 we had in previous episode. So hope the anime stays around 3.5 - 4 chapters on average for this cour.
Unohana fight was expanded a good chunk compared to the manga back in cour 1, we barely knew what her ability was in that chapter at the time. Isshin/white didn't need to be that big of a fight since its supposed to be a flashback to showcase the incident, so the expectation was low.

She is still with ichigo group to Wahrwelt so there is very likely she is gonna get more scenes compare to the manga, maybe she going to contribute fighting Gerard/Askin or a new original side content (BG9 final battle). I wouldn't say Soi fon has the worst screentime out of them all, like Ukitake we rarely get to see in the show and he has 1 shining moment in Tybw. Not to mention some of the Visored barely has screentime or is handled badly (lisa, Hachigen, Love Aikawa).
The problem in bleach is that there wasn't a opportunity for her to be relevant due to the plot is following where ichigo is going, knowing she can just double tap with her shikai to kill someone is very broken unless the person has somekind of resistance to its poison (Askin) or hardening surface that nullifies it (BG9). I agree Hitsugaya has too much screentime, but he is also one of the most popular characters in Bleach.
We are also getting a new character towards the end (Yushiro), and we get to briefly see Nel, so I am wondering how that is going to be adapted, perhaps an opportunity to showcase Harribel getting freed.

It never made sense having him face Soifon, he would've been better facing someone like Mayuri or Urahara due to also being the analytic type. If its correct how many theorize that his Schrift is "Knowledge" then it would make more sense that way.
For a unique character like him he should've had a backstory but it probably wont be revealed until Klub Outside or sonething.

Wow Wow wait! Why BG9 now? Shouldn't have wait for the new episode this weekend? After all main focus be on Bazz-B, Cang Du, and BG9 after all. Hopefully we learn his power which is basically be K the Knowledge after all. Everyone guess that and it make logically sense why.

@@davewindburn CFYOW. I've made a mistake though, NaNaNa is not a zombie like the Arrancars but rather a "test subject" by Mayuri. He's not the only one, Meninas and Candice are as well.

Cang du is most likely going to die as the scene is supposed to showcase Haschwalth schrift "The Balance". BG9 is "assumed" to get the same faith unless the anime expands it where BG9 lives, but not sure what purpose he will serve other than to go back and fight again. I don't mind if they die as long as we get some good fight choreography and expanded scenes.

I don't know about you guys, but I think BG9's design is a bit lazy. Nothing big, but his (or should I say its) design looks too much like Shawlong Koufang's design before he was an Arrancar. Am I the only one who noticed that?
Yeah its design is reminiscent with Shawlong when he was a hollow, still a cool design.

@@WieldMyWord Well, the Thousand Year Blood War anime is entertaining its second phase, with two episodes already out as of now. Perhaps we'll get backgrounds for the Sternritters, but I won't hold my breath.
@@Henry-rt6jz I doubt we will get much background stuff other than the main characters, but I think we will get more characters shining through their personality, it really comes down to how they balance the story vs action in this cour. So far it seems to be more story and forshadowing building up which is great. However I want some extended action choreography for this cour, since cour 3 is pretty much just going to be about character flashback and exposition except for 1 event. Cour 4 is pretty much up in the air as its the part of the manga getting the most changes out of it all. I feel they would need to end the tybw with an special episode like AoT or something on top of the 4 cours we have as there is a lot to unwrap.
