    This is the from the Main Point in early 75. It had the first version of Wings for Wheels. This show was broadcast on WMMR in Philly.

      Agreed....wish they'd release this show in his archival series....it has to be preserved somewhere since it was a radio broadcast.

      Oh yeah, I Want You is just the greatest of the show. I haven't heard Wings For Wheels in ages!
      Great Mountain Of Love too (for the original by Harold Dorman, best hear it undubbed or partially undubbed)

    What a great collection of pictures. My favorite singer period I’ve never seen most of them. I love the Bryn Mawr shows. I grew up in poverty in Pennsylvania who is our hero up there or one of them. But no one is like Bruce. I can’t believe I ever moved away. 💚

    • @ajo3085
      @ajo3085 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@williamjennings3265 I've seen discussion on the siren on a few forums now and it's been pretty much debunked as a myth and was apparently a deliberate sound effect. As others have pointed out, it doesn't make much sense that the vocal mics could pick up a siren from outside a building yet not other loud traffic noise... trucks, trains, planes let alone the voices of individual audience members yelling out in the room. That made sense to me when I thought it through because we often see musicians take a step or two from a mic and yell out, yet the mics barely register their voices if they're not in close range and you certainly don't get the drums and other instruments being fed back through the vocal mics, so an outside siren? No chance.

      @@ajo3085 I agree and let's face it, there would not have been an open window next to the main road. As much as I wanted that to be a live event, I do think that it was a sound effect.

      I have the boot. I once put together a compilation of 17 versions of Incident and distributed over a hundred copies on a Yahoo listserve called, "brucesplace." This was the first song.
      Interestingly, full band version on December 29th, 1980...
      th-cam.com/video/1OOcGDPCJEU/w-d-xo.html (Listen to the guitar ending)
      ... and didn't play it again for almost 19 years, when he opened with a full-band anthem-like version in Philadelphia on September 25, 1999.
