People are genuinely just bitter nowadays. Its f-ing disgusting. Just enjoy a movie for what it is. They're not making something according to your likings. They're trying to tell their stories. If you dont like it, take a walk. Stop spreading hate. These "haters" are pathetic.
Exactly, none of the reviews that I’ve seen that are negative are about the actual movie. People are speaking from their biases and not really analyzing the story for what it is.
@@willl9046 true most negative reviews I'm seeing seek to always echo the recast Tchalla movement so they aren't really judging the film on its own. They come across like people didn't get what they wanted so they aren't able to judge it on its own merit.
@@peterparker9954 Sure. But that was bad. People are judging this movie and have made up their minds even before seeing the whole damn thing. My policy is that think what you wanna think about a movie. But when you enter the theatre to watch it, just keep it all aside and go in with an open mind. Judge it for what it is.
Cooglar wanted to make a film about loss and grief and moving on. He did not want to make the film that the recast T'Challa folks want: [I mean the sincere ones not the incel haters who also ranted against the 1st film and are just fronting off] They want a comic book fantasy about heroes who can't ever fail or lose or die. An artist makes the film they believe in and not a fan service. Black Panther was created by Stan Lee. Not one 'fan' told him: *I really want a African SuperHero.* He did it, because he could see something of value when others could not. Cooglar is a true artist, like Stan Lee.
I don't agree with the fans don't matter so do what you want take cause that's why WB was screwing up by pissing off the fans. Yes you didn't exactly say this, but this is what it sounds like when people make "fan service" sound like a dirty phrase. You can please the fans to a degree and have creative vision. That's what I think about when I create characters. Sure there are things that I won't compromise on, but I would never just completely ignore what the want of the fans. That's what titles like "What If" are for, to give the fans a taste of what they want to see, but still be able to follow continuity of the story you trying to tell in the main universe. Also you don't have to kill characters off ever movie cause it kills stories that could be told in the future. That's my big problem with Marvel movies is that they kill the main villains too much. At least get four or five movies and TV series appearances out of them before you kill them.
@@cooksad Black Panther made 380 worldwide in 2 days going against what everybody wanted the film to be, while Black Adam made 350m in 4 weeks making a film about fan-service. You got to give it to Ryan Coogler’s voice. This man has a vision, he make his movies with his heart and you just can feel it. I’m a BIG DC fan (I prefer DC over Marvel) and you can just take a film like Black Adam and see how fan servicing is bad. The only highlight of the film is Superman’s cameo at the end, the characters are forgettable, there is too much tell instead of show… It’s a mess. You gotta get Directors who have visions and who don’t care about fan opinion that much in order to CREATE stories, and not EMULATE the comics.
@@Fecabs1 You missed what I said. I said don't ignore the fans, but don't throw away your vision either. Everyone acts like you can't do both. Black Adam wasn't really fan service to me I thought it was okay, but needed more character developement and a little less action. Comic books, at least ones I read back in the day, weren't filled with more action than story all the time. It depened on if it was a one part or multi-part story. Origin stories don't need a lot of action in them that's why there should've been little less in Black Adam. As far as Black Panther either way Director's or fan direction would've been successful and did well at the box office if Ryan Coogler want to do the recast. I have confidence that he could have made it work and it would've be great. Problem with today's world is people don't know how to find balance. It's all or nothing. My way or the highway. No compromise. You'll get lucky a few times, but then it eventually comes back to bite you in the butt. I just know my preference in approach is balance, but people can do what they want with their projects. I'm going to do my own thing with mine so it's doesn't matter to me.

Namor should get a solo movie which he is getting I guess. It deserves the audience. So go watch it yourself and then judge. I am watching people spread hate without even watching it. They are judging by only watching the trailer. And i also noticed someone mentioned the song in the trailer was offensive, "No women, No cry". Idk why they are so uneducated about everything. In this song the singer (Bob Marley originally) is asking women to stop crying. Also about racism.. Do you really feel triggered if black people make fun of white people? We also get triggered when Hollywood makes everyone inferior in some kind of act except themselves. Bare with it because you guys are also like this only.

New Marvel character building formula: Have a super hero protege (who barely come to grips with the recent loss of his or her father figure) loose his or her mother figure to a complex villain who sees the protege's potential for world domination. This pushes the fledgling hero to the brink of fury. But as he or she unleashes a barrage of grief and anger on the villain, the protege will be made to reflect on what his or her mentor would have done to resolve the conflict. This moment would then force the new hero to mature instantly readying them to take over their mentor's mantle. Tom Holland's Spiderman = Letitia Wright's Black panther
3:25, you have NOTHING to backtrack about. A movie sequel fundamentally ought to be better than the original. Unfortunately with Hollywood there have only been a few sequels in history who have been better than their predecessors. Terminator 2 as you said is also one of them I feel strongly about. Just because we are used to each sequel getting worse and worse, we should not be used to that because it should be the opposite. The sequel should be better than the first. And if a film manages that then that is a gem.
After watching your review it looks like it's gonna be the best superhero movie after "Avengers endgame". And every movie has some flaws. So it's not a big deal if this movie also has some flaws.
Sorry to say... beside its a memorial for Chadwick Boseman... the story is crap. I think coz of the political undertone in most movies nowadays, that is why they are failing OR not doing as it shud. When u integrate it naturally in the story & moves the story forward naturally then it may work, if its forced, like in SHE HULK, then i don’t think movies will be a sucess at box office. I think Black Panther integrated it naturally and goes with the tone of the story & movie, hope its a success. Can’t wait to watch it when its streaming.
Expecting a character created in the 70’s that was named after the “Black Panther party” to not be political is laughable. The character is meant to be political in nature. Also if you want to consume Black/African art you should expect colonization to be mentioned. It affects us to this very day and is still happening.
These gus think Black male actors are delicate flowers and are too weak to deal with comparisons?! RECASTS HAPPEN ALL THE TIME!! COMPARISONS ARE PART OF THE FUN!!
Great review guys, I think some of the flak the movie has gotten is because they changed the culture of Namor from being a Caucasian like character to a Hispanic one. It does sound though, that from what I've heard from #JaChara4ever and others that they wound up doing the character Namor justice in the end. Which works for me! 👍
I can understand the frustration that some people might feel when movie makers change the ethnicity of characters in a film ( as an Asian I’ve noticed it happen a lot to characters that were originally Asian in the source material and I have found that annoying) but they do a really great job of fleshing out the character and his world that it feels like it was meant to be that way from the start. Plus it’s never a bad thing to have more representation in movies - especially when done right 😊
no it's not that they changed him from Caucasian to Hispanic. The culture is Aztic. That is indigenious indian. The problem is they change everything about the character. Disney trying to virtue signal. When in reality they didn't want to pay ppl who created the character and another co. that still owns Namor. If they change it just 20%. They get free from paying anyone. cheats, liars and scallywags
@@Achara or maybe marvel still doesn’t have complete rights to Namor which is why they changed the pronunciation and his origin but painted it as a “respresentation or inclusive” thing lol
The first BLACK PANTHER was the first superhero movie to run for BEST PICTURE at the Oscar When you think about the other movies in the past, they all struggled to get recognition There is "The Dark Knight", "Spiderman 2" and "Logan" So it makes clear that Disney scammed the whole thing Just like Harvey Weinstein did with "Shakespeare in Love"
With talk of resources and what not, kind of had this thought during the whole Flag Smashers arc....how has the world been operating with no real difference after NY? Learning there are other worlds with life, some with higher forms of life and tech with the ability to come to earth, who at any moment can and will attack, changes nothing in the day to day? Governments and criminals still operating as usual? The possibility for entire populations to be wiped out, experiencing a version of that and it changes little? Man, humanity might as well throw in the towel if the events occurring in the MCU thus far hasn't sparked massive changes in how everyone runs their life. I know it's fiction, but if these things happened real world...things would no doubt change. Look at 9/11, look at smartphones...hell, look at the pandemic. These things altered how we go about things. I would think that at least human preservation and a better coming together would be at the top of the list, especially after the snap. Eh.
“With your little summary “ comes off so belittling. You throw “little” around a lot and it diminishes your guest or source . “His little” this, your “little” that. It’s one of the things that makes it hard to watch your reactions. It also makes me favor your guests/co-hosts more than you, Jaby. I know what I think doesn’t matter to you but if I think it there’s likely hundreds of others who don’t speak up on it. Food for thought. I found the movie to be good overall. There were fight scenes/ choreography t or perhaps camera angles of those that could have been better. Namor was handled well, though pulling a Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends Chameleon episode solution to his powers was…hokey. Did not like the look of Iron heart. Artistically the design felt too busy. The movie didn’t move me emotionally. I was more affected by the first trailer. I enjoyed the film though. Thanks for the reaction and your thoughts on the film.
recasting t'challa so early would just make it feel like chad wick boseman was just an object,he's dead, now replace him......its like a disgrace to him,it feels like he's not worth it,just another actor

The way they killed Tchalla in this movie is actually anti-black . It’s basically black man too scared to go to the hospital cliche . I was really disgusted when it hit me , this is how you kill off a strong black man ? And it gets weird when you think of how it correlates to nobody knowing about his illness wtf are are trying to say ? this is disgusting . Lord have mercy
I have been burned twice by marvel films , and these reviews - MOM and Love and Thunder was disappointing , there they said its better than the last one and it was not. So just keeping the expectations low and not gonna be disappointed.
To say that no Black male actor can be Tchalla is disgraceful and disrespectful to us as Black men and actors. James Bond,Spidey,Supes,Batman Joker etc get recast. WHY NOT BLACK CHARACTERS?!
@@Iletyoulive Ha, because Joker wasn't emotional in your opinion? Somebody getting murdered by his own life is definitely a reason to jump up and down, right?!
I loved this movie as I saw the premiere last night. But yea it is a very powerful move and hard one to watch. I think since it’s so riddled with grief and moving forward. It’s very dark.
The emotional Achara talking about mostly happened beginning & at the very end of the movie but it doesn't help connect to what the story has shifted and new characters. There's nothing emotional about it besides Chadwick. The story was not engaging at all and lot of the time T'Challa felt missed too. I didn't like the young scientist character too, wasted character and FBI scenes was completely unnecessary. Overall okay movie. It's watchable, not terrible either.

Hi Jaby, the reason why Disney-Marvel didn't recast Black Panther wasn't to honor Chadwick Boseman or because someone else can't take his place (they already did it with Terence Howard for War Machine and General Ross in Hulk)... They wanted to remove him long before his passing from the role so that a female Black Panther can be established for the M-She-U
MCU lost their motivation after the endgame. Don't get me wrong here but despite being full of cringe dialogues, I liked brahmastra more than some of the movies of phase 4.
This movie was yet another ruined franchise by Disney/Marvel. They are making money over Chadwick Bozeman's untimely death. Typical all-female takeover, on top of over-bloated writing and directing. Disney got in yet another great writers/director's ear, getting him to SHOVE their upcoming TV shows down our voices. Ironheart is shit. Another ruined franchise for over-wokeism sake. Just threw the male characters to the side or backseat, sent the wrong messages about fathers and sons, and jammed a jumbled mess down the viewer's gullet. Couldn't just make a true Black Panther vs Namor the Sub-Mariner movie. Or sorry. Na'Morrrrrr. Give me a break!

I like your point of view on this
felt like avatar 2 and some things like brooo whyyy did they do it, and then lastly there was a discontinuation shot at the end when she throws the cloth on the fire pit, she throwsit and is not on too of the put but end the second shot, it is. WHY DID THEY NOT TELL HIM CIA IS AT FAULT?
New Marvel character building formula:
Have a super hero protege (who barely come to grips with the recent loss of his or her father figure) loose his or her mother figure to a complex villain who sees the protege's potential for world domination.
Chadwick Boseman would be proud 🥲

I think coz of the political undertone in most movies nowadays, that is why they are failing OR not doing as it shud.
When u integrate it naturally in the story & moves the story forward naturally then it may work, if its forced, like in SHE HULK, then i don’t think movies will be a sucess at box office.
I think Black Panther integrated it naturally and goes with the tone of the story & movie, hope its a success.

Just finished watching this movie and i love it so much than first BF movie, especially CGI in final battle between BP VS Namor
9/10 from me
Expecting a character created in the 70’s that was named after the “Black Panther party” to not be political is laughable.
Technically they did recast T’Challa.
I get to watch it Thursday!
John David Washington could be a great Black Panther
I didn’t know how to feel after the movie it was the best they could do due to the circumstances.

The first BLACK PANTHER was the first superhero movie to run for BEST PICTURE at the Oscar
When you think about the other movies in the past, they all struggled to get recognition
There is "The Dark Knight", "Spiderman 2" and "Logan"
So it makes clear that Disney scammed the whole thing
Just like Harvey Weinstein did with "Shakespeare in Love"

Eh.

What's up with that hair jaby?
Are they dating?
I think WF will outgross BP on opening weekend haha

The way they killed Tchalla in this movie is actually anti-black . It’s basically black man too scared to go to the hospital cliche . I was really disgusted when it hit me , this is how you kill off a strong black man ? And it gets weird when you think of how it correlates to nobody knowing about his illness wtf are are trying to say ? this is disgusting . Lord have mercy

First
Not a good movie. The first part was way better than this. Phase 4 is so fucking bad apart from no way home. Marvel has lost its charm.
Marvel lost its charm years ago. I haven't really enjoyed anything from them since Civil War.
