    The commercials are Swedish, But they are so old that they have to translate and voice over for other countries, instead of making a new one for every country. In Swedish commercials they speak Swedish and have Swedish Text. The one with "2p" is broadcasted in UK i think, that's why its in English. :D

      The Comviq brand has only ever been used in Sweden. Elsewhere it's all been Tele2, but they left the UK market a long time ago. But - because of the prevalence of English in Sweden, many adverts are actually in English..

    Best Swedish commercial in US is the Electrolux vacuum cleaner.
    "Nothing sucks like an Electrolux"

    I'm from Sweden and I recognized a few of these, but most I haven't even seen. A lot of these are quite old, like 20-30 years since they were on TV. Most of these would probably not be shown on TV these days.

    Some of these clips are from international festivals.
    They air them in Swedish, but makes an international version to compete.
    Some of them are just in English to start with. Vattenfalls current commercial is in English and features Cara Delevingne, the actress.
    Vattenfall have a very long history of both prized and expensive commercials.

      Ett monopolföretag som gör reklam istället för att sänka elpriset. Det är så man kan spy.
      Tur att de var lite roliga i alla fall.

    Another great advert, that's only ever been printed, is an advert for the Volkswagen Beetle. It shows a Beetle with a flat tyre, and the headline: "Nobodys' perfect".

    Comviq is a Swedish company, likely doing a commercial in the UK. Maybe made by a Swedish company making Comviq commercials? They can use it here in Sweden as well, just change the currency. It is fun to us.

      No it's not. It's an advertisement that shows how stupid you are as a Nazi and that they set up a demonstration against Nazism in Stockholm.

    • @Henrik_Holst
      @Henrik_Holst ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No it was an anti-racism ad (Nasism makes you stupid) but the translation was all wonky, they didn't say the N word there. It's basically two nazis that are tired of there being too many immigrants in Sweden so they come up with the great idea to move to a country that won't accept immigrants not realizing that such a country would not allow them to move there.

    • @Hiznogood
      @Hiznogood ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Henrik_HolstTo be fair, I’ve never seen that ad, it back then using the N-word wasn’t that loaded for most people in Sweden. It wasn’t used as a derogative here, it just meant black people, especially for the older generations. Nowadays thou that’s frowned upon, but at the same time far right extremists has become more accepted so much that a alt right party is the 3rd biggest political party, if not even 2nd biggest. So I would say Sweden has become more racist now then in the 90’s! 😤

    • @Henrik_Holst
      @Henrik_Holst ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Hiznogood I think (and sorry if I make the wrong assumption here) that you are too young to remember. Back in the 1990:ies we had Ny Demokrati (who among them had a parliamentarian making the famous "if we do nothing then our children will turn to mecka") who where as racists as the modern SD and we had people burning down migration centers right and left.
      We also had people VAM (Vitt Ariskt Motstånd) who roamed the streets at night beating up gays and migrants.
      So no I disagree that we are more racist today than back then, not to say that the current situation (which is a global phenomenon and not just here) isn't bad.

    As many have said these commersals are quite old and where allowed in the time that they aired like 20-30 years ago.

    Swedish production companies also make loads of international commercials, which may be only for airing in other countries. I’ve been an extra in commercials made for Dutch tv, and an international one in English, for Interflora.

    I would say you'd still allow such commercials including the N word, BUT it'd have to be in some good way, like making fun of racists or such.

  • @ericforsyth
    @ericforsyth 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The slur in the second to last commercial is much "softer" in Swedish than those subtitles made it out to be. It's still derogatory, but not like the n-word is in English (or its Swedish equivalent)

    They are all swedish adverts. Some of them was origilly in english, for no freaking reason. I know the beting was. They try to make it look international.
    The coviq one was for sure translated. It was oroginally in english. And that is like a 1998 comersial, its quite old.

    2P means 2 Points and when you got enough points you could refill your phone for free. Most of these commercials are Swedish language but the one made this video seem to have been translating it.

    Weird phone advert. 2p per minute but the card says "kontant" which is cash in Swedish. Must be reused.

    • @Stefan-
      @Stefan- ปีที่แล้ว

      Its for Comviq Kontant which was a prepaid sim card that you could load prepayment as you go with no monthly subscription fee and you could really pay in cash, this was when it was still very expensive to make calls, these days you usually pay a small monthly subscription fee and have unlimited calls and sms at least within the country. I had that kind of Comviq Kontant card 20 some years ago and i still have the same number but now transfered to another operator and with the unlimited calls etc.
