  • These pieces seem to form a tale and it consists of 11 pieces. After every piece there was a picture of a flower or butterfly. Since I didn't know if Hahn wrote these in his manuscript, I took them into the video. Some pieces are really difficult, like No.10.
    00:02 No.1
01:10 No.2 (Cadence with Rebikov figuration at one point)
    03:55 No.3
    06:08 No.4
    08:21 No.5
    09:41 No.6
    10:40 No.7
    11:12 No.8
13:30 No.9 (Reminded me of Schumann)
14:47 No.10 (Etude like difficulty: Reminded me of a mix of Chopins Revolutionary and Rachmaninov's Prelude in c minor.)
    16:20 No.11

I want to mention that I really enjoyed the last livestream. I feel motivated to do that again at some time, without any expectations in the sense of what to do (well , apart from the main point: To play and study piano). Personally, I feel like there is toooo much to be able to watch on YT, so it'll be like people just join for a couple of minutes or so, and that's nice. Just wanna play pieces I played years ago again, and why not in the context of a stream where we can talk a bit.
To the quiz, since there was quite some resonance, possibly I'll play pieces in snippets and do other videos as well. I think it's fun to try to guess a composition out of a little recording. The second piece is still unsolved. Since it's MOZART, I am honestly surprised that it's unsolved and won't tell it. ;&)The 14th piece was from a piece I already uploaded (believe), namely from Deodat de Severac, from the suite Cerdana, Les Fetes. A bit difficult to guess.

It really sounds like a theatrical tale with improvisation-like passages such as an actor who tells a story and from time to time likes to digress.... reminds me only one case in history Schumann's op 106 Schön Hedwig....completely different mood, very dramatic....but this one from Hahn is same, conceptually with piano improvisation in place of recitation voice

What do you intend with " Rebikov figuration" relatively to the second piece, if may i ask? And then...when this ensemble of pieces was composed?

Like in the "suite de ballet" at the 16 minute mark. I tried to find another piece by him, but forgot. I simply meant the rhythmically accelerating passages (of a not changing diminished harmony) when a phrase ends into a fortissimo. Nothing else resembled me of him. But Rebikov did that in quite some pieces.

1891. The text is by Louis Montégut.
