May I suggest my favourite pairing for the Roots and Wings, the Vision Quest tarot. Its a calm reflective type of energy when these two are together and makes me feel like i am connecting to a really grounded spiritual side of me. It also makes me feel like i want to get outdoors into wide open space with a beautiful view and go camping 😂
That's what I assumed as well. It makes sense and I absolutely appreciate it for what it is. I think, though I knew it wouldn't be for me, I was drawn to the linen cardstock and the beautiful backs. I'll likely re-home it to someone who will give it the love it deserves ☺️💗 Thanks for stopping to comment!
I’ve wanted the Drifting Moon cuz I love the art work, but couldn’t see spending that much money for just the Majors. If they do creat a full deck, I will give it consideration. I’m only 2 years into tarot and my taste in decks has evolved. I have several indy decks that I bought for how they looked in videos, but once received, I wasn’t as in love with.
Ugh my least favorite thing about falling back in love with tarot is ALLLLL the choices. I think our tatses will always evolve but those first several months got me too. I have multiple decks I'm trying to rehome for the same reason as you. I've learned it takes time to find the right home for them and I have decided to treat them like a puppy (lol) until the right owner comes along I'll just wait patiently. I've definitely become far more selective in my deck buying! ☺️
@@sincerelyshannadee exactly! I have re-homed one playing-card deck and gifted it as a thank you to someone who had wanted this deck and had helped me in my card-reading studies. The deck arrived, I did a walk through, read the guidebook and knew I didn’t want it. I could have just returned it to Amazon, but gifting it felt right. I have a few indy decks I asked my husband to buy as gifts over the years and even though I love them, I rarely use them. I can’t re-home them because of the sentimental value.
@@karensorrentino9498 OMG yes! The gifted decks are the worst (in the best way). I have found though that sometimes I can find a niche use for the decks I didn't think I could use but also couldn't part with 🥰
Using the Drifting Moon for and with your grandkids would be a dream. It is a blessing to look forward too❤ this video was so helpful. Thanks so much! Hugs from the Netherlands 🌷
I heard that they are gonna finish Drifting Moon too but haven't heard anything new about it recently. I love the illustrations on that one so much. Funny that you mention it, I keep some of those more childlike/storybook decks around because I have this fantasy that I might use them with my future kids one day! I'm excited to see more of your deck 🥰
Lovely video! I love seeing how different people react to different decks - I often find decks i really love through those videos, or ill see one Ive been wanting in a different way that helps me make a decision. The Golden Tarot looks gorgeous on that cardstock! Ill have to snag it one of these days. I get why you don't vibe with it though. It's all kinds of weird. 😂 I can't even imagine how bad the brady tarot is to shuffle. It looks like a painful experience all around.
All of those decks are beautiful. I’m not an animal tarot person, so I probably wouldn’t ever use the Brady Tarot either, even though I think it is stunning. I love the Roots and Wings deck, I think it pairs beautifully with so many decks. I don’t usually like the white space either however in that deck it just seems to work for me. I don’t use all majors decks either, but I think that is a great idea using it with your grandchildren or something along that lines. Thank you for sharing beautiful lady. ❤
I feel like there has to be a way to immerse myself in the Roots & Wings cards. Maybe I just need to stop trying so hard and just let them be what they are! Thank you for being here!
What a great tag idea! Really nice video too, you're very calming. I too have decks I like but struggle to use! I considered the Golden Tarot, but I purchased the Medieval Europe Tarot instead and it is hilariously Punch-and-Judy and tongue-in-cheek, so maybe that would scratch a similar itch for you? The Brady Tarot I was really intimidated by, but I forced myself to use it for a month intensively and now it's one of my most "powerful" readers. The booklet for the Brady is awesome, and it helped that I did a daily draw of one or two or three cards, plus a few longer readings a week. Also, your table cloth is fantastic! Is it a particular print? I'd love to have it for reading too!
Hello! Thanks for stopping to comment!! Ohh I'll have to check out Medieval Europe Tarot it sounds interesting! I need to just bite the bullet and use the Brady tarot because I feel like it'd be a great reader for me if I can get in the right mindset. Ah, my tarot mat is a William Morris print. There are so many to choose from. I bought this piece from a shop on Etsy - it's called Blackthorne :)
Roots and Wings is a favorite of mine. It's one of my travel decks when we go on vacation so I use it as single card draw. With the white space I think it fits with several decks but I like to use oracle on its own a lot.
I have the Brady Tarot I never use the deck but I did read the book. The deck is just that texture that is really difficult to work with sadly. I've been thinking about selling it.
1: Roots and Wings: too flat and not enough detail to read. You are right about the white. For me, its too far out for me to read even if I understand it. 2: Drifting Moon: Love the back. Way to over child like for me. I feel the RWS needs to be taught first but maybe to begin with a Dr Suess like deck maybe 3:Unknown Shadows: The person who made this deck has his/her energy of a past life in it. It may have been a trauma learning time for this person. This is not your energy. Sell or trade it. It looks like the beginning of the 1900s just before WWI. Some of the dress is Victorian and some more toward the new era of that time. City environment. I don't care for that deck either. It is too period work. It has to fit a person who loves that time in history or love pictures of history. 4: Golden Tarot: yes it Too religious and though it is a clear Bosch deck I agree. I want a religious deck, there are better for me. Again this is made in the Dark Ages. Way too period art. 5: The Brady Tarot: I agree It is beautiful art but not even close to RWS for me. I am not too fond of Animal decks and this one is not for me either. I know you love the author but if you can not connect at all, it is time to sell or trade.
I do! I should be getting the deck/box & guidebook set any day now. The deck is finalized but this will be my first draft of the guidebook. Barring any major edits, it should all be available by the end of the month. It's called Little Bird Tarot and you can see a few sneak perks on my IG @sincerelyshannadee. Thanks for stopping to ask!
I never bought into Roots and Wings. I am sure you can rehome that one. As far as the majors only deck, it's a beauty, and I think you could get a lot of joy from it. Try doing a one card draw for a month or so, you'll be surprised how good the majors can be. I think the dark deck just isn't for you and I would pass it on if you can. Kat Black decks are all pretty heavily drawn on the Catholic roots of tarot. You can either embrace it, or let it go. I like Touchstone better, but it is similarly super Catholic. I don't blame you at all for jumping on Brady for the sake of Rachel. Her passing was a loss to us all in the tarot world. No need to force yourself. I don't know how EMI Brady ended up getting her guidebook done, but I know Jessie Driscoll of the Crystal Skull Tarot happened to meet Rachel in upstate New York and showed her the Tarot. Rachel was always on board with something new and revolutionary, she loved supporting the people in our community who were creating with their hearts.
So funny, I just saw someone doing a walkthrough of the Crystal Tarot and heard Rachel had written that book as well. I'm not tempted by that one as much. I'll give a one card draw a shot. I keep several oracle decks on my Morning Altar so I'll add it to that rotation and see how it works for me! Thanks for the suggestion! And yeah, whole I absolutely appreciate thy Why of religion connotation in Kat's decks, it's not for me and that's ok! I wanted to try for the linen cardstock 🥰

@@sincerelyshannadee you are most welcome! Im really pleased to have stumbled across your channel!
The Art in the golden tarot is religious because that’s all they were allowed to do at that time. The touchstone is similar but less religious
That's what I assumed as well. It makes sense and I absolutely appreciate it for what it is. I think, though I knew it wouldn't be for me, I was drawn to the linen cardstock and the beautiful backs. I'll likely re-home it to someone who will give it the love it deserves ☺️💗

The art for that drifting moon is so neat. Wow ! ..if that was a full deck I would buy it in a heartbeat
It really is a sweet deck! 💗✨

Roots and Wings --- I took the cards with people on them out and was able to use it much more comfortably.
Ohh I'll have to try that then! I knew it was an option but hearing that someone else has done it is helpful! ☺️
