Finally! Aretha Franklin's Birthplace In Memphis Sold!

5 years ago I visited Lucy Street off of Wellington in South Memphis and discovered Aretha Franklin's house where she was born. It was in deplorable condition. Why did it take so long for someone to buy the property that would obviously return the investment very quickly. Sad. It doesn't speak well about the people of Memphis -- or the world at large I suppose -- about how little they regard the Memphis community and legacy.
