For me it is an absolute winner. Worth noting that I have medium sized hands so if you have XL hands, the UKPK would probably fill your hands a little better. Something about that Titanium Luna though. Nice size and weight, Nicely made with no rough edges. Feels great.
Consider the Byrd Tern. It's a cheaper version of the UKPK but it actually has safer ergonomics. You can't close the blade on your finger in the same way you can on the UKPK, it's perfect in that sense.
I dont know if you learned after this however it is not a 3 inch cutting edge it is a 3 inch blade length that is from the handle scale to tip of the blade.a lot of people have been caught out by that.
I too, have both of those ukpk's, and the S110v version is my number one favourite, (but I don't have a "luna",, 😀,) Not sure why the HH version has the full length backspring, it makes it much heavier, and stiffer to use,,?? Was going to get the LC200N version to complete the trio, but someone beat me to it,, ha ha ha,,, cheers,, John....
The S110v UKPK is still one of my regular carry knives. The full spring on the HH one does make it slightly heavier but it seems to improve the balance by shifting the centre of mass back slightly when the blade is open. The FRN is so light that it feels a bit blade heavy. However, at 49 grams, the FRN ones melt into the pocket and you hardly notice them. The HH Luna is a bargain at £30 though!
Love the Luna had one for a while now, where did you get the thumb studs from they look a bit better shaped than mine. Cancel that just reviewed you vids, new subscriber thanks for your efforts
If you check the other videos you can see the ones on the Real Steel Luna thumb stud. Available on the Real Steel Shop website and on the Luna Boost and Luna Eco models
i dont have the issues with the ukpk because i have my index finger in the second finger troil so the cant possibly close on it. once i've broken the tension on the backspring with my thumb, i can reposition my hand out the way and close it fully, never cut myself since doing it that way with ukpk or urban
in my opinion you would have to place your index finger in the finger choil with UKPK in order to avoid it accidentally closing. Greetings from Germany
Can you please add an Amazon link from where I can get one of top 3 knifes you posted ??? many thanks in advance 🙂 also I wish I could see some other options which are 100 % EDC in UK .
Thanks for the comment. Amazon isn't a great place to buy knives to be honest as they don't have much choice for UK legals. NEWS JUST IN: The red Luna has just gone back in stock on Heinnie.com for £29.95! It's free delivery over £30 so just find some stickers or something to bump the price up. It's a great knife to get if you don't have one. The black handle and blue handle Spyderco UKPK is also available on Heinnie.com. I think they do worldwide shipping
An interesting collection of one-handed opening knives, but I've never understood the appeal unless you only have 'one hand'. It's always safer to use two hands to open and close a folding knife irrespective of their design...being in my late 50's and having always carried one (EDC), safety has always been important. Just my thoughts - thanks for sharing the video
Thanks for the comment. I use the official Real Steel studs which I bought from the real steel website. I also have one "premium" Real Steel titanium stud which I bough through a facebook group. The studs are expensive for what they are but they really transform the knife.
Interesting what you say about the ukpk. Being close to your finger at the half stop . All the spyderco slipits are like that . But the byrd tern has improved on that issue and actually pushed your hand out of the way of the blade with the forward choil . I have spydercos and the byrd is far better built and designed. It's by far the best edc I've ever had .
Think you need to try a titanium Stella premium pal. It's not deep deep carry but much better steel. It's very comfortable also ! 😉 if you like titanium and not worried about it getting too cold to handle. Nice video 👍 oh and HH have just released a load of different blade style Real Steel Barlow's to add to the conundrum 👊
Can I ask in your experience with the titanium real steel luna's skull print- does this not then classed as a zombie knife? Been keen on your no 5 but I do hear you regarding its look. Keep up the content.
Hmm, interesting point. I think the definition of Zombie knife is suppose to capture those typically large, fixed blade "fantasy" knives with serrated edges and aggressive looks. The logo on the Luna is the makers mark (Poltergeist works). I'd be interested to see if anyone else wold consider that logo to fall under the definition of zombie knives.
bryd tern, which is the "cheap" copy of the uk pen knive is seamingly better, it has better steel and you cannot cut yourself while closing it because its a bit wider designed, also 7cm thats why i bought it, we have the same laws here in germany regarding one hand knives sadly since 2013, before that i always had a letherman freestyle....
Thanks for the comment. I've had the Tern on my radar for a while. I might still get one but I'm such a huge fan of the UKPK that I'm not sure why I would grab the Tern and not the UKPK. I also love metallic scales and there seems to be more scale mods available for the UKPK.
Böker do a nice leather magnetic pocket sheath with a strap that goes over the edge of your pocket and is attracted to the sheath that goes inside the pocket. It does the same job as the pocket clip except the knife is hidden and only the strap shows. The XS fits nicely into it without the pocket clip. Congratulations on the 200, you're now at least 201. :)
Interesting choices. I’d probably only concur on the Urban, possibly the Böker XS (though I prefer the Manly Wasp). I really didn’t like the HH UKPK, as that G10 made my skin crawl. I like the Spyderco ‘volcano’ frn, but the stuff on the UKPK, and the Urban, does feel cheap… at least the Urban is cheap. I’ve not fallen in to the Luna fanboy thing. I’ve only had a G10 one, and I saw nothing to like (except the 1/3rd stop), so gave it away! I fell out with HH over the Pillar so I’ll never, ever know!
Thank you for the info. I’m in the US and am partial to Spydercos. My wife and I are traveling to Ireland, Scotland, and England next year and I’ve already obtained the UKPK.
This is the video I’ve been looking for!
Your content is genuine and real! Keep it up
love the supporting vocals....
Every new video brings me closer to getting the titanium Luna. Thanks to your helpers too.

im lovin the sound affects
Congratulations to your achievements.
Well done 👏
Congratulations buddy 👏👍

200 is pretty good for a UK knife channel, congrats

Isn’t the Ukpk longer than 3” if you measure like that?
@@justhetip No it is just bellow the legal limit it was very carefully made for that. However some "UK legal" knives are not legal.
Great help. Thanks

Great vid 👍but could you of listed your top 5 in show more for me to look up without replaying the video several times please.
Where do you get the thumb studs for the Luna please.
HI Graham, I got most of my thumb studs from the Real Steel website. I got my black thumb stud by buying a Luna Boost Eco knife from the website too.
i dont have the issues with the ukpk because i have my index finger in the second finger troil so the cant possibly close on it. once i've broken the tension on the backspring with my thumb, i can reposition my hand out the way and close it fully, never cut myself since doing it that way with ukpk or urban

Thanks for your comment! I think you are right. That would minimise the risk of jamming the blade into my finger. I'll give that new technique a try.

What thumbstud do you have on the luna

I have been tempted by the Stella but it's showing as out of stock today :(. The Barlows have also caught my eye. Damn, this game gets expensive!

@@SomeoneSmarter yea i hear you. UK has some weird ones.
Kizer ZipSlip is better that the Luna in my opinion however I do like the Real Steal Solis but it's getting very hard to get the stud...
