Gavar 500 gms
Water as required
Salt 1 tsp
Mustard oil 3 tbsp
Jeera 1 tsp
Green chilli 2 pcs
Garlic chopped 1 tbsp
Green chilli chopped ½ tbsp
Ginger chopped 1 tsp
Onion 3 medium sized pcs (paste)
Potato 2 medium sized pcs (peeled & diced)
Salt 1 tsp
Turmeric powder ½ tsp
Coriander powder 1 tsp
Kashmiri chilli powder 1 tsp
Splash of water
Tomato 2 medium sized pcs (chopped)
Blanched Gawar
Sabji masala 1 tsp
Water as required
Coriander chopped 1 tbsp
Roti dough
Ghee

Hallo some Hindus in South done pithru karma at KASI AND GANGA have left the above vegetable what is the alternative vegetable to be used reply or say in Friday preparation
I am from Odisha and for some reason my father always used to say gawar khane se intelligence kam ho jati hai 😂 but my mom makes it in typical odia mustard paste which is delicious and i always loved it. Then coming here in Pune its so loved by everyone that i feel validated.

The bitterness of the Gawar is what I love. So I never boil it. And I like it without any onion, ginger-garlic or potatoes. Just relish the taste of Gawar with some powdered peanut in it..... One of my fav sabzi since childhood....

गुरु जी टमाटर डालते ही नाश मर जाता है Subji ka
ग्वार की फली में जो कड़वाहट होती हैं वही तो सब्जी की जान होती है. वह निकालने के बाद सब्जी की पौष्टिकता ही निकल जाती है.
ग्वार की सब्जी बिना उसे उबालें ही बनानी चाहिए जिससे उसकी पौष्टिकता बनी रहे...
ग्वार की कड़वाहट कोई इतनी ज्यादा भी नहीं होती जो उसे निकलनी पड़े....
हम तो करेलेकी सब्जी भी बिना उसकी कड़वाहट निकाले ही बनाते हैं. करेले पर भी नमक डाल कर उसका पानी कभी नहीं निकालना चाहिए....
Authentic ग्वार की फली की सब्ज़ी अजवाइन में छौंकी जाती है - जिस प्रकार भिंडी की सब्ज़ी भी अजवाइन में ही छौंकी जाती है - आप की स्टाइल से निश्चित ही स्वादिष्ट लगेगी
