One change I may need to point out is that in the original Gamecube version, Link starts with a wallet capacity of 200 Rupees. In the Wii U version, he starts with a wallet capacity of 500 Rupees. Another change I'd like to point out is: In the original Gamecube version, Forest water lasts for 20 minutes. In the Wii U version, it lasts for 30 minutes.
I remember playing the HD version being weary of opening chests because I was nearing 200 rupees. I got more than 200 and realized something was different.

They have also given the Deku Leaf an improvement. When you fly with it, you can see a green mark below where you will land.

This is hella funny... having remembered how hard it was to keep track of the fishmen's tips, I've written every single one of them down while replaying it in HD. I had just one more fishman tip to collect before watching this video and seeing that the game saves all the tips for you, lol.
It's been really fun keeping track of all the tips (the fishmen's and others) in a journal though. I'm the kind of guy who draws maps for Metroid and Dragon Quest. It's something about creating something physical with the game that I really enjoy.
Yes, the satisfaction of having a map, the excitement. It is like you were the one on an adventure!

Let us not forget that on Wii U, the Forest Firefly is the most useful Zelda item ever.
You can catch it in a bottle, and be told you have a Forest Firefly, and then release it later! Very cool! You can also probably try to sell it to Beedle and then be told that he can't buy those kinds of things.
You can give it to Lenzo(? The photo person) for a Joy Pendant, I guess...
Isn't Beedle called Terry in Wind Waker?
Its the other way around. The forest firefly can NOT be caught in the HD version, only the gamecube version. In fact, it is required to get the pictoboy deluxe

gamexplain forgot one more aspect which surprised me, in the game cube version before you receive any wallet upgrades your minimum amount of rupees that you can hold is actually 300, but in the wii u version when you start the game if you collect enough rupees you will see that you can hold 500 rupees at a time before any wallet upgrades. that was actually the first new modification Nintendo added that I noticed

TheKingstonTube I just love the whole color and presentation of the game. I feel like I'm at disney world or something and the game just makes me smile when I play it. Classic Nintendo at it's best.

Honestly, I think the original GC Wind Waker looks better. Such a simplistic art style like this one doesn't work well with bloom, gradients, and advanced shading effects, especially when the geometry hasn't been upgraded at all. It actually hurts my eyes, and that's difficult for a game to do for me. That's just my opinion though.

Those new swinging controls on the grappling hook may have finally convinced me to buy this version. Even when I first played WW, those swinging controls always felt a little awkward to me.
Also, when you play the WW to set the direction of the wind, after the first time, it no longer plays the entire tune, it just goes straight to letting you pick the direction
The same goes for most other songs.

If I had seen this a few months ago I wouldn't have known about these changes since it's been a long time since I played the original but since I just started playing the original wind waker again for my channel I have to say I have definitely noticed a few of these changes (Except the camera controls)

So many minor improvements that made the HD version of Wind Waker easily more superior than that crappy outdated Gamecube version. This beloved HD version is easily one of the best Zelda games ever & one of the best remakes ever. Fudging genius from Nintendo who regreted the fact that the Gamecube original has the worst pacing ever in Zelda history. WIND WAKER HD IS FREAKING AWESOME! To all those Broken Fanbases(I'm looking at you fucking Gametrailers) who are watching this video, TAKE NOTES OF THOSE MINOR IMPROVEMENTS!

In fact, the Gamecube original has the worst pacing ever in Zelda history which is why this HD remake existed in the first place. Don't listen to that fucking Gametrailers since they claimed that Zelda 2 is better than Wind Waker. Now will you just leave me alone already. I haven't played the original because i started playing zelda games almost a year ago (last september) and i started with Ocarina of Time, i beat that in like february and recently got done with Majora's mask like a week ago. I also downloaded this game with my Mario Kart 8 promomtion and so far im loving it

Have you actually played it or are you going by videos you've seen online? I was skeptical of the look too till I actually played it on a TV (and not even an HD TV, I might add) and it looks amazing.
Ignore them, you speak fast enough for me not to get bored, and I love it. This is my first video I've seen of yours, but I love it. Which seems weird since you're just talking about WWHD, but still, love it. Don't stop doing this, because I don't think your 2,500 videos will be enough for me to watch lol
I didn't know about that fish man icon! It'll come in handy for all those side quests involving the moon as well as that ice island
I beat the GC version 4 times and I beat the wii u ver. once (gonna do 2nd quest soon :] )
and the thing I like most about GCN version is the item switch glitch (start + X/ Y/Z items doesn't get used up if you switch it)
and the HD swift sail is awesome

Question: Cab someone confirm they when you adjust the left/right camera, it changes both the third, and first person camera? I really hate that, but that’s what BOTW does too. Who in their right mind would push left to look right IN FIRST PERSON? Makes sense controlling the camera that way from a short distance in 3rd person but not 1st... so jacked up...
I have a question. You can now hold more photographs, which makes the figurine side quest a lot easier, but do you still have to change the time ahead one day after each picture you submit? Thanks!
In the hd version, you dont have to get a forest firefly from forest haven to get the deluxe picto box. In fact, you cant catch forest fireflies at all anymore. Also, the game now forces you to free Tingle first time you are on Windfall island, otherwise the boat wont let you leave. In the original version, this was not the case. As a consequence, the boat's dialogie when giving you the triforce quest doesnt make a lot of sense anymore as he tells you you will need someone to decipher maps and to try looking in places where many people are. Originally, this was a hint to go to Windfall and find Tingle but in the Wii U version, Tingle will already be freed and on Tingle Island
Here are a few you didn't mention. I just got it yesterday, and this is what I've found. When training with Orca, he doesn't knock you down every time you use the wrong attack. It doesn't show the fire coming back where you have to press down switches to get rid of fire, you just here the sound.

@Gamexplain Some changes I didn't hear you guys mention (so you may have missed) are notable improvements. Two things I noticed are
1) In the original game, if a monster, cannon ball, or any other attack hit you while you were in your boat, you'd be knocked into the sea. Super annoying. Now you just take damage.
2) When you defeated an enemy on the sea, a glowing goodies "gem" would appear. You'd need to smash it and then retrieve the goodies. Now, rupees automatically come to you.
One I had no clue about is Lenzo gives you the deluxe picto box with the firefly quest where in the hd version he just gives you a joy pendant
No problem.
The swift sail is probably my favorite addition. I didn't mention it because I only wanted to say the changes that were not talked about on this channel or the comments of this video.
The Tingle Tuner that was originally required for Tingle Statues was also removed, so you don't need a GBA to get them now. In fact, regular bombs work now!
I don’t think that every change was necessary, like the songs not playing after you stroke the notes or the inclusion of the swift sail, but I am glad that they fixed the swing on the grappling hook.
With the turning while swinging, is that using the gyro controls, the analog stick, or both like certain weapons?
I know you can have more pictures in your pictograph, but I still want to know if Carlov makes figuring faster or if you still have to play the Song of Passing a million times. I never want to hear that song again!
in the gamecube version you could have a friend play along with you using the gameboy as tingle. is there something similar in this version?

What about the Hero's Charm being at the bottom of the Savage Labyrinth? And the heart piece that was relocated?
I just got the original I use my Wii to play in 480p and it's a huge diffrence from 360p to 480i
You can buy some decent cables that can play Wii, ps3 and ,xbox 360 all on the same cable so you don't need to change the cords to play any of those consoles if you desire.

Did you guys know if nintendo fixed the command melody dungeons? is there some kind of instant switch? or is still mandatory to replay the song multiple times?
One change I've noticed in the trailers (I'm waiting for a physical copy so I haven't played the actual game yet) is that when you get attacked at sea, you no longer fall out of your boat. This may seem like a minor change, but that falling thing was the bane of my sailing experience in the original, because I always fell out just as I got back into the boat. I might be wrong on this, though, so do correct me if I am, because no one seems to mention it. Maybe it only bothered me. :)
Triggers that can tell if they're being held down partially or all the way. Like how the GC controller's L and R buttons could be pressed lightly or hard enough that they clicked. They could also tell how far down you were pressing. Wii U's triggers don't have that.
OK is there anymore changes like items and others like twilight princess HD version?
These are all of the exact improvements I would make as well. They are basically little things that are fixed with patches these days, which obviously didn't exist in the GC era. Can't wait to get a wii u someday and play through the hd version of the game
Sweet mother, I think being able to change directions while on the grappling hook is my favorite improvement. That always bugged me in the old version. Woo!
Well that one about the fish would have been perfect earlier today just started playing for the first time since I never owned a GameCube and just recently picked up a Wii u.
You forgot to mention that in the original, when Triforce hunting, you have to find Triforce charts, which you can't understand, you have to pay 3198 rupees in order to advance onwards. Now there's 3 Triforce charts to find and decipher, meaning that you don't have to pay tingle a single rupee till you have the 3 Triforce charts.
When creating figurines can we give multiple photos at the same day this time? I believe in the past you had to change time of day to skip to the next day and was only able to give 1 photo each day, would be really great if they improved on that.
i've beaten this game on the Wii U about 4 times, and I didn't know the thing about the fish secrets. Great! Easily the one entry with the most extra stuff in the whole series (haven't played BotW yet.)

Hey I'm watching a Wind Waker live stream right now and there's a "low battery" sign at the bottom of the screen that flashes like crazy. It's very distracting. Does it go away when you plug the ac to your gamepad or does it keep flashing until the gamepad is fully recharged?

What about finding Knuckle on Outset Island? You needed the Tingle Tuner to do that in the original.
Instead of the game being 3DS compatable for the new *Deluxe Tingle Tuner* as one of Link's items...
... We get the "Tingle Bottle" that took the fun out of both the Miiverse and the game itself.
Another couple changes I've noticed -- being hit by most enemies does not knock you out of your boat now and when you defeat enemies at sea, the rupees you earn fly to you so long as you're not sailing too fast.
I actually found out about all the improvements the couple of days I got the game

Does link get to wear pyjamas on a second playthough? I had assumed not since it seems to be replaced by a standard 'hard mode' option.
At 1:05 it shows that the Wii U Pro controller is selected as your controller, is this true? Because the only reason I'm hesitant to buy the game is that I thought you are forced to use the Gamepad (which is okay, but I like using a regular controller a lot more). One other thing, while I already have Sonic Lost World preordered and will love it, do you know if you can use the Wii U Pro controller instead? This is the main reason I bought the PS3 version of Rayman Legends, forcing the Gamepad.

I was just wondering if it's possible to turn off the Gyroscope Motion Controls on all control scheme. To be honest with you guys, but I'm not a fan of Gyro Controls.
You forgot to mention the fact you can now turn in multiple photos to the Nintendo Gallery. Normally it'd be one at a time but you can mass turn them in and skip a day and they're all done.
You can also hold up to 12, it tells you if it's a good photo and you don't need one of those weird things from forest haven to get the deluxe pictobox.

I may love WW, but I've seen the prologue countless times, and it'll be fantastic to not have to wait so long.
With how long it took you could get up, make a sandwich, eat it, use the bathroom, and still have to keep waiting for it to finish. xD
This game is 10 years old, which means not everyone has had a chance to play it, since GC is no longer being made. If you can't notice that the graphics where upgraded very nicely is because of the cell shading technique, since it's stylish the was not so much that could be changed. The game has more content than most games nowadays, they even made a tonload of things more accessible, and it's not just a graphical upgrade like most remakes, it has even if few, new elements that make it better.
It came out today digitally.If you want it physically you have to wait until October 4th.
The more reviews I see of this game the more it makes me wanna keep that Zelda bundle
