    I almost mustered the energy to go to Le Sureur this year after last been some fifteen years ago. Alas not to be. The big steam threshing and engine show at Pawnee Oklahoma is the must do regional event in this part of the world.

    I hope you bought that disk plow! Those things are hard to find nice and way cool for plow days to have something different. I would like to have a big disk plow for my 820 Deere someday but they are super rare in Kentucky.

    • @squatch253
      @squatch253  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      They’re kinda rare here too, but what ends up being the deal-breaker for me is how poorly they perform in rocky ground - of which I have lots of lol 😂

    It’s nice to see what was at the show this year. I couldn’t make it until Sunday after church and at 10:30 am it was a complete ghost town… I get it there was a rain coming but it was sad that nobody was there…. Oh well I was the late bird and all the worms were gone 😂

    • @squatch253
      @squatch253  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yep by 3:00 on Saturday the vendors were really starting to pack up and leave. I've found that if there's nice weather, Sunday is well worth sticking around for. But if there's already been rain and mud earlier in the weekend, and more is forecast for Sunday, then the main buying and selling rush happens Friday and Saturday and by Sunday everybody is gone because they've had enough of the mud and have conducted enough business to be satisfied.

    We have them here in Europe as well, but swap meets in NA are something wild. I try to match my trips over the pond with a few every time. Always go back with plunder in the finest of nordic traditions.
    6:00 always felt that for the rock crusher, the best wheels to move it about would be pulleys. I've seen this done with heavy duty equipment of the day (at least here in Europe). When the pulleys came down from the ceilings, when the electric motors overtook the steam powerplant, a lot of factories ditched these "wheels" and people made use of them. One really cool unit i saw once in a museum in UK was a big mining operation water pump mounted on a gun mount like construction, presumably to be pulled by strong horses, the wheels were pulleys. Clearly seen by the pulley lock and the wide belt crowned "thread". Neat stuff.

    Enjoyed meeting you and Senior at your booth on Saturday. Did a lot of walking and looking but you really have to know what you are looking for or at. One guy had a 1917 Smith Motor Wheel mounted on a 1918 Colson wood-rimmed bicycle, kind of neat. An AgriCat crawler was there for sale as well. Always a lot to see at this show. Hope to repeat next year!

    It almost didn't seem like LeSueur this year until i saw two young ladies trying to push a SUV out of a mud hole, and getting sprayed.
    I remember the guy who owned the steam engines. You didn't dare go on the property without a invite.
    I took the Super H as a Franken H.
    The oil filter was early H.
    The tin was off of a H. You could still see brighter paint where the Farmall emblem had been.
    Thanks.

    • @squatch253
      @squatch253  14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The old guy who used to own that ground was quite unfriendly to trespassers though, due to having had so many “souvenir” hunters lifting pieces off his steamers, so you only dared go on that property if you were invited. Can’t say that I blame the guy either. After he passed on, the land was sold and all of its contents auctioned off, several of those steamers are now restored and in operation at tractor shows that I attend every year 👍

    Hey squatch, a neat idea for these videos, if you still have the old gopro, set it up on the top of the trailer and do a time lapse with it. I think it'd be neat seeing the amount of visitors your booth gets.. Or at least see the rain come and go. It'd be a neat thing to try with your new editing software. Who knows, it might be a neat thing you'd put in for some disassembly videos on scrapping days.

He had a Ferguson Tractor and a Ford as well. . I've always enjoyed watching heavy equipment run.. my uncle was in the Navy Seabees and operated cranes and dozers etc. my brother & I always looked up to him.
