:O I just picked up a hidden meaning behind the final battle, 10 years after playing the game. Nobunaga says that anyone who witnesses the golden statue will kneel before it, and that he has transfered his power to it. This is also why Jubei was capable of defating him because Nobunaga couldn't fight at his fullest, but that's beyond the point. When you defeat Nobunaga he transfers his remaning energy into the statue and Jubei is sucked into the floor, then the camera transitions through his eye and he falls through a black hole into a bloody wasteland. I believe that at this point you are no longer in the real world, you are inside Jubei. He just metaphorically fell through his own eye into himself. The golden statue is not some kind of transformer monster, it actually is a mind control device, the mere sight of it threates to break your will and that's what happened to Jubei. He sees the statue as an undefeatable enemy, well beyond his capabilities. Now, so far in the game the orbs have been objects of actual tangible progress, working mostly as keys for doors, but if Jubei really wants to defeat Nobunaga he has to embrace the orbs' power from the inside. I really could go on for a long while explaining the meaning of each of the orbs and even arguing that they're not actually real, but I don't think anyone's gonna read this so to the point: Jubei embraces the traditions and value of his family through the orbs, and within them he finds the strength to face the golden statue. Once you defeat it there is a second eye transition. Jubei has endured the mind control and he is seen leaving the demon castle as it crumbles. This game is rad as fuk yo
this was the best onimusha game hands down ! best gameplay ! best graphics! best boss fights ! not to mention branching storylines and best replay value
Only complaint I had about the game was the analog mini game for the gate where you would fly out on the dragonfly. Never could beat that part. But that’s what older brothers are for 😏
So much nostalgia. Onimusha 2 is in the Top 10 for best PS2 games of all time. It was such an exhilarating game. Boss battles were amazing. They really need to remaster this masterpiece and make it a remasterpiece!
@@Eddie_the_Kidfalse. The real reason they haven't touched Onimusha 2 and onwards is because turns out the original OSTs for the first 2 games were stolen compositions which is why the remaster for onimusha 1 has a different (and much worse) soundtrack and which is why I didn't even bother to finish it because it ruined the experience since the original soundtrack was amazing.
@@Eddie_the_Kid yeah and I truly believe that's a big reason why the remaster failed. I literally stopped playing it because I didn't like the new controls and the textures looked weird and of course the soundtrack ruined my immersion altogether I felt like I was playing a knockoff version of the original

Onimusha Warlords, Onimusha 2, Onimusha Blade Warriors, Onimusha 3 and Onimusha Dawn Of Dreams. He lives out his life and rebuilds his village, his granddaughter is in Dawn Of Dreams and you can play as her.
i would get a lot of hate for what i am about to say but whatever i think that the last bosses from Oni2 and Oni dawn of Dreams are the wrost designed,i mean they could have done better job like they did on onimusha 3 last mission
I agree on this one. The thing is here is you just shoot the final boss, no fighting at all. Dawn of Dreams at least make you must fight the final boss.
Jubei wasn’t powerful enough and didn’t have the Oni gauntlet to take Nobunaga’s soul like Samanosuke did. Now if Takajo bestowed a similar gauntlet to Jubei, potentially he could’ve ended Nobunaga’s evil ambitions earlier.
Killing Nobunaga is not enough he needs to seal his soul as well so he can never be revived unfortunately Jubei didn't have the oni gauntlet and his soul escapes.
The fact that Jubai performs a front flip for his final attack with the Thunder Sword always puts a smile on my face
The Chad Jubei vs the Virgin Samanosuke
His war cry when he does it use to give me chills when I was younger now that I’m older the nostalgia puts a smile on my face 😃🙂

Maybe if sales increased for the first onimusha game they remastered on the ps4

I read that Jubeis face was molded by a japanese actor who died in the 90s
Yeah, I believe so. When I first saw his face, he looked a bit familiar.
Yes, Yusaku Matsuda. He was a famous Japanese movie star and made his final appearance in Black Rain (1989), which was directed by Ridley Scott.
