Today i show you how to fix the dreaded "Black Screen" or "No Input" error on a "Xbox One X" the method i am showing is what helped me fix my console. However if this method does not work for you your console might have a much deeper problem. Apart from that really hope this has helped you save spending more money! haha.

How long does it take to reboot?
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!! Just so people are aware...I was getting the ‘THE SIGNAL’ problem. I couldn’t even get to a black screen or anything. I literally did what this guy said and it worked! Power on ur xbox, unplug it at the plug without powering down your Xbox. Then plug it all back in, hold power button AND sinc button, and you get to choose to reset console :)

Hey guys , I turned out to be my TV. If it is a smart tv , reset it. I don’t know what happened , but my son likes to chew on the remote( he’s 9 months old) so he must have chewed his way into some setting . Cheers

I hadn't heard of this Black Screen of Death thing before, so I was really shocked when I encountered it just now!
Your fix totally worked, although I didn't get a troubleshooting screen - it just cold rebooted as normal, and my profile and apps were all intact, so I guess I was lucky? :D
One thing to other people trying this, you might be holding the sync and power buttons for quite a while. I wasn't timing it or anything, but it felt like close to a minute of nothing, and then my One X rebooted, I heard the power button ba-beep and then the fans kicked in, so hang in there if you think nothing's happening. I was about to give up myself when it started rebooting :D

damn man got the black screen last night and have been all over the internet like everyone else looking for solutions but nothing works..farthest i made it was to the troubleshot screen but not by pressing the buttons cause that wouldnt even work for me, i just left it on for almost 2 hours and it went to troubleshoot ..then i chose reset but keep games and apps my console froze and restarted back into the troubleshoot and now even that option is gone! so i can either fuly reset and lose everything ..do the usb update if i can find this OS Build # that keeps evading me or just turn off.sigh...i dont know whether to just get an S (i have the 1TB Fallout 4 Edition had it since 2016) tomorrow or keep mashing at this ..so random man.. i even have an external plugged in if i wouldve known i wouldve started migrating way earlier...any help would be greatly appreciated from anyone

ohDRPZ it just happened to me this morning but I can still barely see my home screen especially when my light is on idk if it’s my brightness or what but I can seee my home screen barely and I can hear me moving threw the home screen with my controller but I can barely see it it’s like my brightness is down all the way
Do the same solution im sure after so many notifications of console over heating i think it just protected it self from really over heating. My xboz is now working
Don't give up and if I say one thing suggestion I mean try replacing your HDMI cable or two of them cuz I have to cuz I have it set up to watch my TV and play my Xbox
Such a simple fix which seems to have helped heaps of people. Unfortunately no matter how long I hold the buttons the display never comes on. I've tried multiple TVs and cables so I guess my Xbone is Xboned. Thanks for the tip though! 👍

I’ve got this problem at the moment. But you mentioned when it came to reset the Xbox and to click “keep all games and apps” then it says underneath that “erase all accounts, saved games and settings” will this actually erase all my games and stuff
Sorry for slow reply. But no the only thing i had to do was re download my xbox profile.
My xbox turns on, but takes unusually long on the green screen, and then where I'm supposed to sign in is all black. If I press my home button it dims the screen but no menu appears. I can still hold the home button and get access to the shut off menu. I have an Xbox One S.

Same thing happened to me- I reset the Xbox 3 times and pulled the hdmi several times and then finally the menus showed up. This has happened several times in the last 4 years of owning, I was thinking it was updates trunk to load but I think it’s the Xblock of Pandora’s consumerism algorithm to make people think it’s broken.

I went through video after video of people telling me fixes that didn't help. I thought I was going to have to spend a fortune on a new console. This has genuinely fixed it though, I don't know why Microsoft don't have this fix on their website.

Black screen.. Switch of console.. Unplug all cables .. Now power down your xbox x by holding the power button for 10 seconds. Plug all cables in switch on.. hopefully you should get the troubleshoot screen..

I'm not sure on that one maybe you can try and remember in your head what to press. For me I had to do it pretty quick as only showed for little amount of time.

Even if you have the vanilla XB1, press the POWER and the SYNCH button at the same time. Pressing the EJECT with the POWEE button does not work.

I did this and when I was setting everything up again I connected to my internet and got a message saying can’t connect to dchp server and I can’t fix that now.

Can anyone help. I can’t get the boot screen to come up. I have an Xbox one x & one minute it was working fine, the next it wouldn’t display the screen. I’ve held down the Xbox button on the console and the controller sync button & the console turns on, fans move however no image appears on the screen. I usually get two/ beeps from the device? any ideas

@@aliciaharris8234 it’s a real problem for me, my console is currently un-usable. I can turn the console off via the controller however I get no input on the tv. It just stays a black screen. I followed this video and the console did not go into reset mode, it just stayed as a black screen

Anyone else having a issue with their series x where your watching tv on tv from sky when suddenly it goes completely black screen but you can still hear the sounds etc and can’t even see you guide to return to home.
Every other app works fine and so do games. I have done a hard reset to fully reset my console but keeping my games and apps. It’s been happening since a week ago.
i remember having a black screen on my xbox one (this was in 2017). i was so sad that day because i thought i couldnt play again. the next day, i searched up on how to fix it. i have to download files in an usb drive which would reset the entire xbox one. it worked and have to download all my games again. it was worth it and i was able to play again. now these days are sync and power buttons to work again.
Yeah unfortunate thing to happen at least you don't have to buy a new console. Having to reinstall it all though is pretty annoying .

THIS STILL WORKS I recently got an older Xbox one from a family member and it would not show any Home Screen or anything after powering up I removed cables and was about to punch a hole in the wall till I saw this and it ended up saving the Xbox

So i just clicked continue instead of deleting my account and whatever else and it ended up working still. Thankfully bc idk my passwords ever. This was my 4th account name smh well at least not 5th 💪

That's unfortunate, I'm not to sure what you can do for this maybe there is another guide showing a different method on youtube. If this does not work the only option I can recommend is talking to xbox support and going from there.
If this does not work for you, my Xbox would not give me the troubleshoot screen to pop up when I held down the two buttons upon start up, but I held the power button down until it did a factory reset when it was on to turn it off, and then when I turned it back on I held down the power button alone until it did something weird after about eight seconds, then the next time I started it and press those two buttons it did allow the troubleshoot menu to come up

Just an advice, If you have a TV Roku you need to go setting on tv and go to power options and reset tv and done !

I almost put my head through a wall but this does work. Have to unplug ur system for 30 seconds then plug it back in. After that hold the sync and eject buttons simultaneously for 10-15 seconds then press the power button one time while continuing to hold the sync and eject button. You will hear one beep and then shortly after you will hear a second which is when u release the buttons and the troubleshoot page should pop up.

Hey ya don’t turn off console if you get second thoughts after holding both buttons . It will just factory reset ON ITS OWN with no games and apps saved. Now I have to download everything….again

It didn work 😭 i put my fresh rate on 120hz and my tv couldnt handle it and went black and i think i accidentally pressa button and now it shows xbox is on but doesnt load any xbox

@@VisualGamingHQ i fixed the problem all i had to do was go to my other tv ( my other tv could handle 120hz) put all the cables into the tv and my screen wouldnt be black but very glitchy then to stop it from glitching i went to settings>tv and display >and turned refresh rate from 120 to 60 and my tv stop beiing glitchy . I put my xbox back at my original tv and my tv wasnt black anymore 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄

When I hold the sync and power button it turns on but never beeps. I held it for like 3 mins then I tried to hold the power button and eject button but that didn't work either.
Not sure on that one unfortunately only option I can give is to talk to xbox support and see if there is another problem with the console.

*hint* before doing these things.... check to make sure you plugged into the right hdmi put, u may alhave plugged the hdmi to input

I have this same issue but when I do the step of resetting and keep games and apps, It resetting but it stop at 50% then it takes me back to the trouble shoot screen. I’ve tried everything on that menu even offline update and nothing has worked. Any help would be appreciated!

So what if every day my game works and every morning I get black screen of death. So I factory reset it works for the day then by tomorrow morning black screen of death again 🥺

Thanks for the info, I'm sure it worked. After 3 days of fighting with a straight black screen no matter what I did, I gave up and went to playing my PS4. I click over on my smart TV to input 4...turn on the PlayStation...same damn thing. Black screen! Didn't understand how or why because other than the OneX and PS4 every other input worked fine. Had me so pissed, went through 8 beers in a matter of 38 minutes, because I thought both consoles were dead. Then we had a power outage. When everything came back on, so did the Xbox and Playstation lol. Thanks anyway...I'm sure I'll need this trick in the near future as many time as I reset this thing under an input screen that wouldn't display. 👍

In my experience it always goes to that screen so you should be fine
