Love buying and collecting Matchbox and Hot Wheels. I met you in the late 80s. I always appreciated your honest grading system. I only bought Mint in the box or blister. Take care Brother.
Thanks! Wow the late 80's. That was so long ago. We are gradually getting older and older! But the hobby of collecting Matchbox and Hot Wheels just keeps growing and its still fun.
I love older matchbox! I wish I had a time machine . I would do several things but going back in time and shopping for now vintage diecast would awesome!

I have repurchased many of the Matchboxes I used to have in the 60s. They cost much more than the 55 cents that I used to pay for them then.
just a heads up, can u wrap them with thin tissues when u put em inside the box? it reduces the chance of it being scratched, i do this with my vintage tomica cars

No.32 Jaguar red was my first Matchbox toy sadly it was lost in 1968 during an earthquake. But life has to move on & just keep on collecting since then. 3/27/2021

Boy Matchbox is it for me. I'm 68 but act like l'm 18 when it comes to my Matchbox.

Not a hard model to find at all mint, George. And prices for a mint #36 Opel Diplomat do not impose in the least.

#25 Tilt cab, The lorry it's based on, The Bedford TK, Didn't have a tilt cab, The cab was bolted direct to the chassis.

I used to have that mustang. I used to hate that steering wheel thing that turn the tires I couldn't stand that. I wish I had it now😂😂😂.

That is a 1968 Store Display. I watched eBay for years wanting one that was new in the original box. Heavy competition bidding on that so I ended up paying $1,200 for it.
One thing I haven't seen in the videos is the Matchbox parking garage with the elevator that went up, down, sideways and diagonally.
I have a 6b Quarry Truck in the original box, and mint. All that I have is anything from excellent to mint.
Making me feel old since lots of these were to new for me to see much as after about eight years old stopped asking for Matchbox cars.

To be Mint the car and the box have to had originally came together.
The cars always included matching boxes. A child would have refused a car with a wrong picture on the box. Imagine a fire engine in a taxi box! No way!

I have been in the hobby since childhood, and for thirty-eight years, had scouted out every Regular Wheels model that appeals to me, whether before my time or not. I have one kept from when I was eight, the #74 Mobile Refreshment Canteen. It has been with me longer than any, and it got blessed just three years ago with an original box it had from new; And the list goes on and on. I have all I could ever want, and now, for the more prized ones in my treasure chest, I'm trying to get original boxes, which are extremely scarce, and often only up for auction. Women do not generally share our passion/hobby for these diecast cars; I've had a few scoffing detractor women knocking me over what I love. My late wife, rest her soul, was an exceptionally good sport and shared the joy with me, though, to her dying day. Indeed remind your wife, Janet, that there are more than one Matchbox Mavens out there. And it's not unlike a for real antique car 🚗 hobby.

Rarely are boxes for sale anywhere. If you desire a set of cars with boxes you need to bid or buy cars with boxes. The cars are a dime a dozen but the boxes are rare as hens teeth. Or just order some reproductions. Best wishes.
Matchbox really were at the top of their game in the sixties.
BTW, I had the Dodge cattle truck, and it had one or maybe two brown plastic cattle. Or is my memory "Dodgy"?

How many matchboxes do you have?
I have one of every model except no rarities. Later models after 1965 I have several of each model.
I have 3 old models with boxes from the 70's. They are lovely to own. I had so many of them as a kid.
