    For the last 5ish years, Rolex has gone completely insane. Their prices have gone through the roof and with the insane long wait lists, you can hardly get one! In this episode we'll have a look at some Rolex models that have gone up in prices more than 10 times its original value.

    Your perspective and analysis is spot, on the Rolex Oyster perpetual Turquoise! Being retarded/stupid is where society is at, no reality check! Wait until the economy crashes/tanks, see then when the prices will be! Rolex is trying to surpass, Audemares Piguet and Patek Philippe! Haute Horology vs mass machine produced Rolex, made by Robots not Hand!

      you are 100% correct! It's our stupidity of not going and getting other watches is what gives Rolex so much power.

      @@romanmoruz your right! Try a grand Seiko or Audemares Piguet Royal Oak 15500! These are pure beauty and elegance, handmade and crafted to the highest level! I’m tired of Rolex and their games, build a relationship! Buy other less desirable watches, just to get maybe a GMT 2 Ora Submariner in a couple of years, make your AD Rich! There are no waiting list’s, it’s how much you spend, the more you spend the easier it is to get the hardest models! The total Joke, is on the ignorant stupid consumers!

      I mean lately I got to a point where Im actually thinking to get a Cartier Santos 100 over the New line of Rolex Oyster Perpetual. No more status and name over the things that are actually better and I actually like more.

      @@romanmoruz Hi! Try many brand’s on your wrist, see which one gives you the wow factor! For me aesthetics, history, heritage, function, and fit is where I make my choice on buying a watch! Tried on a Cartier santos a week ago and a couple of days ago, don’t really care for it! Good luck!

    You are 100% correct. Values of OPs are insane on the secondary market. Rolex is a charitable trust and is not as concerned about short term profits as they are about the long term status of their brand. I will never pay grey market prices for any Rolex. I got my Rolex from an AD. Sadly, they are very difficult to purchase now at ADs.

    • @romanmoruz

      Buying a Rolex on the grey market is pretty stupid considering the insane prices!!

  • @timothythomas1626

    The NAME is EVERYTHING. Even to pay retail price for a steel Rolex . It is Only The Name that hold value. Not the Stainless Steel Not the Ceramic, Not the Sapphire and Not the Movements and it is not the hands. It is the Name 99% Name one percent steel.

    @WatchUnwind 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    It’s absolutely bananas but you can’t even blame the flippers, they are too tempted. I would never flip my watches because I just can’t do it but for like 99% of people to buy the tiffany for 6k and sell it for 80-90k that’s like winning the lottery. that’s a giant down payment on a house, paying for your kids collage in full, or buying two brand new cars. It could dramatically change your quality of life overnight.

    • @romanmoruz
      @romanmoruz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you said it right! And if I was to own it for 6000$ and know that now it costs 80K or so, I'd be so tempted too. Just insane!

  • @SG-Photography
    @SG-Photography 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think some dealers are inflating the prices on purpose , so if the offer it later for 30.000$ , people would buy it thinking this is a good dead , which in fact is not.

    • @romanmoruz
      @romanmoruz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi. Thanks for the video😃. My Dad, God rest his soul, used to say “you know , son you don’t know the value of money.” This has taught me well. I can derive value from a Rolex at MSRP or maybe a thousand max. At 10K, 15K, or 2x or 3x its price, I see no value. Thats a fu*kload of money. Excuse my language. Impulse buyers tend to lose track of the zeros.

    The watch is beautiful, but the inability to buy new from an AD at the moment means the prices pre-owned are absolutely obscene. In the UK, it's £4750 AD price, 2021 model pre-owned it's £28000. I did a quick game and for £27500, I could put together a 2020 Piaget Polo steel, a white gold 2020 JLC ultra thin moon phase, and a 2019 steel and gold Omega Aqua Terra on rubber strap. That's a pretty good three watch collection for the price of one way overpriced entry level Rolex. Crazy prices.

    Don´t rely too much on the asking prices for watches like the Rolex Tiffany blue on Chrono24....it´s not because the asking price is 50.000 € that it will also sell for that price....in the end it might be sold for "just" 18.000 €....what is still much of course but puts it better in perspective.

    Rolex shouldn’t be part of the Trinity and I hope things don’t ever get that crazy. Rolex is a popularity contest, no finishing, no masterpieces. Not saying they aren’t good, robust tool watches, just not in Trinity running IMHO.

    What rolex meant is affordable to the folks that the AD's groom. Then they flip them for 30k. I don't see this madness ending until Rolex decides to distribute their watches a different way.

    Hello Mr Roman, the reality is Rolex dealers doing this hype artificially. For 35 000 usd or 100 000 usd you can buy much better watches even a watch and a car. ı bought my 114060 at retail price and happy with it. I only buy from Retail prices. The people who is actually buying these earn easy money so they can happily spend it.

    I realize that you are ranting. However, we are in a financial crisis right now whether you know it or not. Everything is rising in price very quickly. There is a lot of money out there and no where to spend it. You cannot make any interest on your savings account. The stock markets are already way over priced. The real estate markets are over priced. So, people are thinking that luxury goods might be a way to invest their money. This is driving the watch market right now. So yes, as a collector and enthusiast in watches I feel your pain. Personally, I wouldn't buy a Rolex on the grey market. That's just me.
