    I do this every day on my guitar. Just got a ukulele, so, this is a great plan.

    Learning this was transformational for me. I notice you rest your thumb on the string lower than you play, and pick with fingers 2 and 3. Very cool.

      Yes. I always had that! It helps get rid of the resonating noise of the strings :)

    Wow, very powerful excersise. Like you said - it's nice to play songs and all, but let's not forget about the basics. Thanks a lot, I'm going to add this to my routine, it definitely will help me improve my playing!

    I am really getting a lot out of this exercise, and i loved your calm relaxed vibe. Can you tell me the reason why you keep each finger held down?

    • @MarcoCirilloUkulele
      @MarcoCirilloUkulele  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hi Bella. I keep each finger down so I can stretch them as much as possible. I hope this helps.

    I sure would give the world to have more country song options. Especially the classics... I'd also love to see a good tutorial on Havana by Camila Cabello.

    Another way to the 1-2-3-4 pattern, keep your fingers on the fretboard as you move the 1 finger to the next string. The point of this exercise is to keep your fingers close to the fret board the whole time

    I tend to use my chording hand to hold up my ukulele which involves mostly using my thumb or palm to holdup the ukulele up as I move down or up the neck. I'm not entirely sure how to utilize my chording hand properly, but I am noticing that the chording hand is not supposed to use any effort to hold up the ukulele at all to help you play, so how do you keep the ukulele up as you play?

    • @annalievanrensburg8875
      @annalievanrensburg8875 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think because the top string is not a low G string. It would not sound good when you move downwards to the bottom strings

    • @MarcoCirilloUkulele
      @MarcoCirilloUkulele  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can do it if you have low G

    • @adityaksengupta
      @adityaksengupta ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MarcoCirilloUkulele then are you skipping the 4th string only because a high G will make it sound weird along with the other strings? Thanks for these videos-- very useful indeed.
