Why is no one telling her the knees were 100% legal?
One landed in the back of the head not all were legal
When it happened live.. she def. had a full hand down after taking a shot on Grasso. and Grasso kneeing her.. so it wasn't like she was trying to do the "oh let me put my hand down to avoid knees"... the following knees Bullet had her hand down like "hey wth?"... but the first shot coulda def. been called illegal.

I felt like more then one landed on the head but camera angles so we know one for sure landed some were clean n some miss n struck her elbow

if he wanted to do it intentionally he would have done it for the second round where she actually hurt Shevchenko, giving it a 10-8 and it wouldn't have this much of big deal

@@yaniyuhara8165how would Mike Bell know the other judges scorecards ? All 3 would have to somehow be in on it. Or the whole promotion. He would have to know for a fact, the other 2 judges had it 1 alexa and 1 Valentina. If both went 1 way or the other, it would be a majority decision and the 10-8 wouldn't matter at all. The only way it works is if he's stupid or knew/predicted the other 2 scorecards.

Oh well, VS the great did get dominated in rd 5 and crumbled again just like in fight fight rd 4, kneed across the ring and just couldn't get it done, outworked. Whom has ever done this to VS? Not Amanda, Taila nobody so fools need to get things in perspective here. VS was in trouble alot, did no damage again except for a Fn jab and one elbow, got dropped on her ass and also was tired AF again while AG outworked her and was in far superior conditioning. VS got a "choke" that wasnt in and all she did was exhaust herself while hoping AG would panic, no das. She brings nothing to AG that can submit nor defeat the latter, and if one fights long and often enough theyll meet their kryptonite. VS didnt improve, she merely didnt do a spinning back and was done in rd 5 vice 4. She s too old and stubborn to change and improve. 15 seconds.more and we arent here debating jack, let that sink in. But yea, lets to do it again since AG won 2, 4, 5 in Dec. 3 months and not 6, F that and we will see who is ready. Fools need to take off the glasses and watch the fight again.

I don't agree with the 10-8 even for a bit, but imo Alexa won 3 of those rounds :P Could maybe agree with the draw, but Valentina def did'nt win that fight in my eyes. The takedowns should'nt rly matter on the scorecards if she gets "cut off" and can't do anything with them. Even in some of them Alexa actually had more strikes and success from the bottom than Valentina had from the top.
I actually had Grasson winning round 2, 4 and 5 as well but it was a close one. A trilogy would make sense next. It's a shame that the draw overshadowed how brilliant this fight really was.

I had it 2-2 going into the 5th.
Imagine you are one of the top performers at your job, you consistently perform well and are well respected. Suddenly, your boss tells you you’re only going to get a fraction of your pay this year, because a person who has no idea how you do your job said so, and unfortunately, there’s no way it can be discussed or resolved, you just have to accept it. You’re also ineligible for any bonuses this year. You would think your employer is a joke, wouldn’t you.
These judges are actual cowards. Ruining careers and refuse to explain anything.
They are just serving their masters(so yeah coward is a good description). They are in the back pockets of the ufc and the big sports books in vegas. Dont for a second believe when there is a horrible decision(especially in a big fight) that it is due to incompetence. It is corruption.

I think that rules of Nevada Athletic Commission have to change and that judges must explain their thoughts on their score card. They must be accountable for scores they give !

It was a great fight. It was a very close fight so I"m not surprised it ended up in a draw. I personally think Valentina won the fight. I completely disagree with the 5th round being 10 -8 Grasso.
It was not a draw. That judge gave that score PURPOSELY so that Grasso would be able to keep her belt. If he would have given the right score which was a 10-9, giving the rd to Grasso, Valentina would have won the belt instead of it being a draw. Grasso didn't do enough to win that fight.

@jorge5275 Valentina didn't fall short. One judge screwed her with a score of 10-8 making the fight a draw. If the correct score was given in rd 5, which was 10-9 to Grasso, Valentina would have won the belt. The judge gave that score purposely so Grasso wouldn't lose the belt and it would be a draw. A 10-8 for rd 5 is disrespectful to both fighters.

Like regardless of whether you believe Val won, or grasso which either is fair most people would think it’s fair to say it’s 2-2 going into the 5th and unfortunately Val fumbled a 5tj round she was winning and ended that round getting teed off on by grasso and then almost choked unconscious so if anything on a LOT of peoples cards she should have lost but it was a draw so I don’t understand where all the crying is coming from. She lost her belt the first time and in a rematch in a super closely contested fight it came out a draw and I think it’s fair because for me personally grasso edged that fight by winning the 5th and then at worst it was a draw. You can’t cry about judges in this sport when you leave it to the judges in a closely contested hard to score fight but at the end of the day she will get her rematch again despite losing one and a draw in the second

Exactly well said the fight was as close as it gets so a draw makes perfect sense. The fight was back and forth up until the end. If Valentina is mad she should be mad at herself for dropping the ball in the 5th round.
She is totally being a brat because she’s been losing a bunch as of late. Didn’t even rewatch the fight lol by her own admission. The judges “sucking”in close fights is perfect for the sport, motivating for fighters to not leave it to the judges.

Just look at nunes and pena as a prime example, super fluke win from pena but still, a crazy win and huge upset and in the rematch this fluke was thoroughly corrected by nunes absolutely battering her the entire fight but despite this and despite the fact in just about everyone’s minds even though it’s 1-1, pena being dominated meant we didn’t really need to see a 3rd but they still made the trilogy and it was pena who fumbled that at the end of the day but it still got made so I don’t see why in this scenario they won’t do the rematch outside ofc nobody caring to see it because as much as people wouldn’t care to really see Val grasso 3 I’m sure grasso vs santos would be even less interesting to people so idk, I guess I could be wrong but I think even if Val isn’t immediately given it and they do let another contender get a shot, Val won’t have to fight again and will get a rematch despite being essentially 0-2 against grasso now.

She has more than 200 amateur fight in muay thai before turning pro more than 80 fights muay thai /kick-boxing and 28 fights in pro mma. That take a lot of toll of mileage to her body with how many injuries. I know coz i watch her old interview and she came to my country to fight when she was young. 35 with that mileage is old brother.

The unified rules state that a fighter does not need to dominate all five minutes of the round. Grasso nearly ended the fight the same way she did the last if the bell had not stopped it.
Didn't Valentina nearly end the fight in the 3rd with a sub on top of winning most of that round. She nearly ended it in that round more than Grasso in the 5th. How come that wasn't a 10-8? Fake news too, bc Val was out of danger when the bell rang & round ended. GTFOH

None of her subs were close in the 5th and was getting out boxed for 4 minutes. Valentina dominated round 3 for about 3+ minutes and wasn't given a 10-8 by the clown mike bell.

20:00 this is why Ariel is the best in the business. He hosts a show where if he offends a guest he could easily lose them forever (especially a superstar like Shevchenko) but he wasn’t afraid to tell her she was wrong about the knees, something she’s been complaining about non stop since the fight.
It’s unbelievable actually that the fight was late Saturday night and by Monday morning, after complaining at the presser, no one on her team, no one in the media and none of her friends told her those knees weren’t illegal even though everyone who watched the fight knows that because Cruz and Cormier mentioned it several times.

She said she broke her thumb on her power hand(which def can be enough to alter the course of the fight seeing that you can’t hold grips as hard, close your fist as hard when punching), she said that 10-8 in the 5th was insane, and she said that she felt robbed…all very valid and logical. She’s not complaining. She’s stating what happened.

It was a good fight. Let's just be clear here. Val said she was going to show Grasso "no mercy" and that this time she is going to pretty much kill her, no more games, etc., etc. The fact is, even if she did win the decision, that did not happen. Val has met her match in Grasso. She needs to stop pretending like she's the dominant fighter in the women's division who got fluked in the first fight and then screwed in the second. She may be a more well-rounded fighter, but the fact is, Grasso in both fights made Val have to work for that belt. Give the girl respect.
Trilogy is a must. Good fight.. May the best win.
This kid had the potential to become the people's champ and the highest paid woman's MMA fighter of all time, but she never shows any emotional part and connection, is just too hard on herself, never shows the extremely intelligent personality, never shows vulnerability, and etc, which doesn't connect with the fans except for her being arguably the most technical woman's fighter that can be appreciated, and she is superb most of the times. Anyway, she deserves the trilogy because both fights were simply fireworks.
Have you ever taken the time to think maybe it had a lot to do with her culture, she’s very likable, she’s been a martial artist longer than most fans have been alive, give this woman her respect period, this is the 2nd fight she’s be cheated out of, yet she’s still talking about continuing to fight.

In a championship fight, if you arnt dominating start to finish then high chances the decision wont be in your favor. The way how she came off before the fight indicated that she was gonna mop the floor with grasso. That didn't happen, so you didn't do enough, all I see now is a bunch of complaining and finger pointing... what better result ? Don't leave it to the judges.

The judge who scored round 5 a 10-8 needs to be fired. While it was a close fight and could have been scored 3-2 either way, the 10-8 was just terrible.

Alexa won, Valentina got lucky with the draw, alexa had more moments and reversed positions and was getting back to her feet. Showed her more looks on grappling, gave her clinches, punched her up.. if Valentina didnt land the cutting elbow, everyone would cllearly see she lost

Mike Bell made two mistakes. The first was to give Valentina a 10-9 in round 4. Then he tried to correct that by giving her a 10-8. If he hadn't made his first mistake, he would have given Alexa a 10-9 in round 4 and a 10-9 in round 5. Then Alexa would have won the fight. His mistakes actually benefitted Valentina. It saved her from another loss.
She should congratulate Alexa and move on, or maybe someone should give her some cheese with that whine.
I think he shoulda said he mistakenly wrote an 8. that's how bad it was.. her comments were a bit misplaced. but.. I do think he was heavily influenced by the crowd's reactions to Grasso taking her back near the end of the fight.
I rooted for Grasso, and after I saw the robbery, I come back to still give this woman her props, for winning 3 of 2 rounds with one hand. The UFC is despicable for not removing the belt from Grasso.
Objectively, they gave the Mexican fighter slated to perform on Mexican Independence weekend a Noche Belt that looked made for her. As a Grasso fan, I can admit, what happened was not the UFCs fault, almost a month later, they have not corrected this error. And it sends a horrible message for MMA.

It was a great fight!! It was a very close fight. Four rounds were competitive and easy to judge. The fourth round was extremely close. Though a judge made a mistake in judging the fifth round 10-8, it should not diminish the fantastic performance by both Alexa and Valentina. I do not blame Valentina for making a fuzz. But it was not a robbery. Alexa won the fourth round. Valentina is lucky that two judges also saw Valentina winning the fourth. Alexa showed great humility in accepting the decision. But Valentina is making a mountain out of a mole hill. To me NO ONE LOST!!
Well said when that fight was over I literally felt like no one lost or won. They should've done a 6th round to decide it.
I was encouraged by round 4 because I enjoy how Alexa improves with every fight. The end of the third round proved that Valentina was gaining ground. The fourth clinched an even fight. The fifth round proved that the first fight was not a mistake costing Valentina the fight. In the first fight, I saw Alexa gaining ground towards the end of round three. The momentum had shifted in Alexa´s favor. I knew that Alexa would win even if she had not submitted Valentina. In round four, Valentina tried to get a foul this time by putting her hand on the floor while being hammered by Alexa´s knees. The referee did not buy it. How is it that we can have an opinion about her fights and she can't have her own beliefs about her performance and the judge’s decision. Valentina has yet to watch the fight. She reasons on a gut level that she was cheated by a judge who scored the fifth 10-8 in favor of Alexa. In this sense, her objections are correct. When she sees the fourth round, she will admit that that round was very close. It could have been called in favor of either fighter. In fact, it was called in Valentina´s favor by two judges. But Alexa won that round. But I would accept a draw because it was that close.

She rolled backwards to avoid a takedown. She was not hurt from the shot she was off balance throwing her own hook. Watch their feet when they trade hooks, Grasso was set and balanced so she was able to stay up.

I am from Guadalajara and I love Valentina so much, I was with Alexa this time, and from my perspective looks like Valentina is a better fighter and has more tools, skills Alexa is stronger younger tough as F and she is improving, there is nothing bad about losing everyone does it, and a draw is not a loss. Valentina legacy will live forever, I am so thankful for having the opportunity to watching her fight, and also Valentina maybe is slowing down since the Santos fight she didn't look the same she has 20 years fighting.
