      @LightsTeamEuphoria 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Huh? I mean yeah Fahnbulleh is the favorite for sure but Boling will obviously be the one challenging him. It comes down to how Boling runs, when he relaxed and gets into form then he’ll win the final. If he gets too tense because he knows Fahn is closing super fast then he’ll get passed up. If I has to bet I’d bet Boling, just because I don’t trust the closer to make up enough time in the finals when his main competitor rips around the bend. It’s going to be a lot of time to make up and I can’t say I trust him to catch. I do have more trust that Boling can hold off though.

      No one in this field or any of these short sprint heats has a chance at the US team, with the exception of Micah Williams in the 100m. Lyles, Knighton, Kerley, Bednarek, Norman would humble these kids easily.

    It looked like Harding may have touched the line but it didn't look like he crossed it. I'm not very familiar with the rules of track & field, but man that guy lit it up. You would think the organizers would want their best runner in the finals, even with a slight brush with the line in this one. I understand there are rules and if they made one exception there would be everyone wanting exceptions BUT this guy was flying.

    I think Fahnbulleh takes it but it is hard to see him getting under 20 until he works on getting a better start, he is just letting his raw speed carry him in the final 100...if this kid would get off his butt and put in some hard work this off season and focus exclusively on his starts, like making his goal to win the indoor 60 type starts he could become truly world class. Seems like Matt put in the work to work on a more relaxed back half for the 200 but in this race it looked like he was back to his usual struggling to hang on and grimacing final 50 and with Fahnbulleh closing hard while he is fading it's going to be hard for him to win.

      The rules are extremely clear. You don't HAVE to run that close to the line. Indeed the benefit gained from running that close to the line instead of a few inches off it is virtually imaginary. It doesn't make a difference to winning and losing the actual race so no one should do it in the 200m because the only thing it CAN do is get you DQ'd. Runners would be far better off running in the center of their lanes and giving themselves some breathing room if their body starts to drift a little bit.

    I'd say 19.9x would win and remember that Tommie Smith of the 1968 Olympics won the 200m with 19.83 (WR & OR then). So breaking 19.85 puts you into TRUE WORLD CLASS Territory (at least at the collegiate level) as anything that matches or goes below what Tommie Smith did...regardless of the freakishly SUPER-FAST times of Bolt, Blake and Johnson is impressive. That 19.49 of Erriyon Knighton ...at age 18 ...is astounding as that hints at him maybe breaking Bolt's 19.19 in 6 or less HEALTHY years from now, and only assumes a 0.05 PER YEAR AVERAGE improvement rate for 6-7 years (to age 24-25).
