2013, I found out I was pregnant, started bleeding. Waited for 4 agonising days for the scan. It showed a healthy heartbeat. I cried so hard, couldn't wait to see my mum to tell her the good news. As I crossed the road from the hospital, she happened to drive by. She pulled over, as I got in, "one day like this a year would see me right" just played, I cried so hard with joy. That moment, this song, means the world to me. 6 years on. Mum had dementia, but still remembers that day.

Summer 2011, Leeds Festival, UK. Sun was scorching, I was with my mates, we had beer aplenty with Elbow on the main stage belting this out and the easily 100,000 person crowd singing along. A memory that will live with with me forever.

My mother loved this song so we had it played at her funeral 29 Oct 2021. Made me smile through all the sorrow. RIP Mum. She was 85 by the way. Loved her music.
What gets me about this song is how amazingly I associate it with waking up on an early summers morning with the sun glaring through the window. Knowing it'll be a beautiful day. Perhaps it's nostalgia, but this song truly captures that feeling.
Andy Haldane best keep them out of the school system then. Group/shared home schooling is best if you can arrange it, and keep them away from the TV. When they start asking for branded goods, give them the talk before they are lost forever.

This song was played at my youngest brother’s 3rd birthday party when we had a slideshow with a load of his pictures on. The song is beautiful & the video is tremendous. The young man has his headphones in, hes doing his thing. He hesitantly starts out, likely conscious of peoples reactions & as the video progresses, his confidence grows & he starts to showcase his talents. Tremendous
Our human talents and genius are raised in the direction of excellence and transcendence by the Holy Spirit. Helping us to see more, and be better disciples, and encourage others in love and truth and peace.
Inspiring is connected with being filled with the Spirit. The one who inspires human genius into transcendence. It's the Holy Spirit in and with and behind and beyond the song that can allow us to hold on to hope. And of course He is the Spirit of love and truth. When we truly "see" the curtains have been thrown wide...
Played this song at Grans funeral a few months ago. She was 93 and this was her favourite song of last 30 years. Everytime it was on tv/radio we would put it on for her, or even just stick this video on tv. She had great taste!
Played this on the morning that I officially retired. Was living /working in Beijing at the time... bags were packed, sun was shining, car was waiting to take me to airport.... I needed a song to get the journey/retirement life off to a good start.. 40 years of working Bye ! 5 years in polluted Beijing Bye... One day like this year will see me right. Yes One day like this indeed !
I just found this thanks to my son Cameron, who shared it with me. What a great song. I thought the singer was Rufus Wainwright at first and I mean that as a high compliment. Great song indeed and a it is a beautiful day today and that is a rarity lately.
I never get tired of watching this. The exuberance, the life of that kid is an energy i wish for the whole world. And that music is so tender and affirming. What a combo.❤
I listen to this song for the first time when I was in a bad time four years ago. Today, I listen to it and it makes me that I have hope for a brighter future.
Hi Gabriel 👋 You should also check out the song This is the Sea... by the band The Waterboys. Suggest you watch the video with the huge waves. Someone special just sent this clip to me, and deep in my heart I felt so very special and loved. The lyrics is superb..it just hits the point, "Cause holy cow, I love your eyes (One Day Like This a year would see me right) And only now I see the light".
Pish tosh! Dance like no one's watching! That's the secret to a well spent life!
This song forced me to hold on to hope many a day. I love it. The lyrics for me are inspiring. ❤️☮️
A beautiful sentiment.. well received brother ✌️☮️❤️
This is one of my all-time favourite uplifting songs. You can't fail to be mesmerised by the lyrics. ❤
Favourite always!! Amazing powerful tune favourite
What a beautiful song!!
Still a beautiful song even after all these years.
Some songs are timeless..
I just found this thanks to my son Cameron, who shared it with me. What a great song. I thought the singer was Rufus Wainwright at first and I mean that as a high compliment. Great song indeed and a it is a beautiful day today and that is a rarity lately.
Think of my departed brother every time I here this fantastic song it was played at his funeral
Why the hell have i only heard this song now at 39 years old! Hard to admit but it makes me extremely emotional. Its a masterpiece.
Lucky you! I just discovered it today... and I'm 50% older than you! Cheers to music that hits one's soul... no matter their age 😁
A kind of psychotherapy and much better than an expensive therapist that does not help at all.
Hi Gabriel 👋 You should also check out the song This is the Sea... by the band The Waterboys. Suggest you watch the video with the huge waves. I was stuck in a holding pattern, not sure where to step next. That song helped me out tremendously. I hope it does for you too. Better days ahead... better days ahead 👍
This song holds one of the biggest memories of my life and I cry every time I listen to this sing wishing I could re love it.
One of the most beautiful songs ever written. Just perfect.

Beautiful lyrics, but the violins and orchestra just magical.❣
The best vid ever!!!!!!!👋 One watch and I’m happy again 🤩 up North ❤️
An all time classic ... mark my words this will still be popular in 50 years time
Hope so. Not convinced by the view count though.
@@seankilburn7200 Most ppl who love this song come to YT somewhat infrequently; they're busy with everything elsewhere 🤗💜 - they mostly get their music live, & listen on cd or streaming. (YT?! Well,
occasionally🙄🤭🙏🇬🇧)
Watching this time after time....still makes everything better.
I'm here after the final episode of Doctors on BBC1. Xx
Simply beautiful song.
Beatiful Lyrics
So brilliantly executed! I recently discovered this band and I absolutely love their music. This video is so brilliant and captures the mood of this song perfectly.
Love that Guy remains true to his Northern roots by signing with his natural accent.
The harmonies really reach out and grab my attention
One of the best videos I’ve ever seen. Just love it. What an uplifting song. It’s so good to be alive. I love Jesus. Hallelujah.
What a beautiful song
Has been, is and always will be.
Like the Holy Spirit who raised the talent of Elbow just that little bit higher.
This song has a calming effect on my mind
The Ultimate go to song when feeling a wee bit down .. never fails.

Brilliant song and video 🎉🎉🎉
Such a strangely beautiful video. I love how they've slow motioned the kid's moves.
Someone special just sent this clip to me, and deep in my heart I felt so very special and loved. The lyrics is superb..it just hits the point, "Cause holy cow, I love your eyes
(One Day Like This a year would see me right) And only now I see the light". Thank you Green eyed for pushing me hard just to see my worth, to have, to dream and to carry on. I appreciate you for doing it.
