      Is the Neo2 enought? is there a mount adapter to utilize 2 neo2s in the Illuminator for more light? or is that over kill?

    • @Rotolight
      @Rotolight 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@craiggerald371 Hi Craig, there isn't a standard mount that would mount two NEO 2s inside but you could DIY rig it with an arm if you wanted. Jason gets great results using just one NEO 2, and you might need to be careful with hotspots/uneven spread if you had two inside. We think one is plenty!

    Would've never thought to use the car light and city light background.. I'd love to do some pinup shoots at night like this using the Rotolight Illuminator. You carry minimal and get the maximum with the minimum.. That's why I follow you.. Great teacher u are Jason Lanier.. Your sidekick Em is easy on the eyes too and I really like the shot of her with the graffiti style abandoned building with the net body suit.. Not being weird just way to really think outside the box. Love your work..!! You've made me a Sony fan for sure..

    An affordable substitute - 3 second hand Canon flash units on a triple bracket - Yongnuo Trigger and large inexpensive octo softbox on cheap stand - Not as good obviously but will allow you to develop your skills.. You find out many say they use their expensive TTL flash units on 'Manual' setting anyway ! Well in that case old units are perfect...

    1) Expose for your ambient setting without a subject
    2) Add subject and light
    3) Adjust the light so it matches the environment

    I think I'm going to get that combo the next time I get paid. I just bought a surface pro for editing and it was expensive, but not as expensive as my 70-200GM. That lens really put a dent in my bank account. I'm trying to go as light as possible with my lighting gear and get good results continuously.

      @wendystumbaugh695 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oliver Rensch you’ll only be able to trigger the light with the Godox/pc Sync option. You’ll need the sky port/Elinchrom trigger to allow remote control of the other stuff. (I’m not Jason, but just thought I’d answer in case you hadn’t already figured things out!)

      Depends on the country!

    • @jeffreywrightphotography
      @jeffreywrightphotography 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@paulbentley2709 In the United States it depends on the city typically, sometimes the county, state, or, federal jurisdictions such as when you are at a county, state, or federal park. These fees and paperwork these laws enforce are usually very onerous for small operations and insignificant for large ones. In San Diego, where this seems to be shot, if it is a commercial shoot you are required to obtain permits and provide proof of insurance to shoot on public land with a special review if you are shooting in any kind of public right of way like a street, alley, or even sidewalk, where you might cause a disturbance or cause injury due to the use of your equipment. Most photographers I know take their chances and don't get permits. Also, the determination of commercial photography is vague at best and even if it is a student project or club if you are using any kind of lighting equipment or other equipment on a stand you will usually be considered a commercial project. That is unless the law enforcement officer has a good attitude and leaves you alone.
