In this video Jason uses two Rotolight Aeoses in LED mode. One light used as a key light and the other used as accent lighting from down below. This is also one of the first shoots ever where Jason uses the Sony A99ii, Sony's premier DSLT camera.
Lenses used for the shoot include the Sony Zeiss 24mm f/2, the Minolta 50mm f/1.7 and the Sony Zeiss 85mm f/1.4.

Sony A99 II - I love this camera. Thank you for another great video from the master.
Thank you Jason! We got the Neo2 and Aeos kits,,,turned out to have saved $3K CDN over local suppliers!!! These lights have completely changed the way we shoot,,,no more Chinese strobes and modifiers that topple so easily in a breeze. Our location kit gear is so much simpler now. I've constructed barn doors out of coroplast for the Aeos and a snoot from black cinefoil for the Neo2's,,,saved $400CDN over local suppliers! We like the 'new' look to our sessions. The Illuminator is amazing in that the full body coverage wrap of soft light is a look that separates us from the local competition. We are equine photographers. These constant soft light sources are ideal in stables as they don't spook the horses as our strobes sometimes did. And in strobe mode for action shots, the zero refresh rate gives us more 'keepers'. Lastly, when we unpacked the kits we were so surprised at the build quality and thoughtful engineering touches - this stuff rivals ProPhoto gear and we expect a long service life from these products.
Jason the black and white with Emily in modern pinup and the twigs was so awesome. The girl of color in black and white squatting was timeless.. Love your work..~Chet

Great vid - just starting out with AEOS 2 and this gives great inspiration. One ask (apart from doing a workshop in Cardiff, UK please????). Could you please add some comment on what AEOS settings you are using? Temperature, colour etc - be most helpful. thank you......
I would love to see a video using the Sony a9 ii with the Roto Light setup. There isn’t any videos/shoots using the a9 ii. I am considering that camera, and would love to see you in action with it.

Just did my first photo shoot last week (with Humans), with Roto light of course and i used all the skills i learned here. Not saying i used them right but its a learning process LOL.

Jason, I've wondered this for quite some time. The video has very warm and rich skin tones, yet the stills on the video have much more cold and almost pale/silvery tones. I've obviously shot Emily myself, and looking back at the photos, I have the more rich tones. Is this a TH-cam artifact, the way you edit the photos? I'm just trying to get my head around the disparity. Thanks!

I have to ask ....after seeing all of your amazing images taken with the Sony Zeiss 35 mm 1.4 as a portrait lens and seeing this 24 mm used as such...I’m am torn to choosing .I already have the 90 mm and love it!, IF YOU HAD TO BUY JUST ONE... of the two the 35 or the 24 which would it be other than the obvious wide angle advantage..please any help from other viewers would be welcome in making a decision...thanks so much...

The color rendition in the video is so different than the photographs... Something is off. Probably over edited?

Nice video Jason. Thanks! You do need to work on your Spanish city names a bit. It is pronounced Hacumba. In Spanish the "J" sounds like "H" in English. Just like "La Jolla" which you do get right.
