I upgraded from the MPC ONE to the MPC X SE, I got it Saturday. I have been one it nonstop. I love everything about the MPC X SE. The full amount of Q-Links and Buttons and size is just game changing. For me this is the best MPC. I put mine right in the center of my studio. I got mine from ZZOUND.
looks just like The Renaissance in my opinion. i still use mines. and i have a SP1200, mpc 3000 mpc 2500 , mpc live 2 retro and still use the Ren the most

As an X user, stand-alone, it’s a dream come true. I’ve had the plug ins since they became available, if you haven’t invested in the instruments, you’re missing out on an entire library of killer sounds.

When I started producing over 10 years ago I "WANTED" a bigger studio filled with my dream analog synths, did I NEED IT? No, because I was able to make a living with my corner studio but when the opportunity presented itself I got it.

However, do you know how many so called "producers" own at least one Akai mpc and don't make a living. They're collecting more Akai MPC workstations than they make beats. Seriously. You wait years for a machine with the same workflow like 35 years ago and because it has a nice color, more ram and sound you want to spend over 2000 dollars. This is called a-negro-must-have-it-syndrome and Akai knows it. I hope native instruments or Roland will step in real quick and release something special. Linear sequencing to begin with.

If I didn't have my X, I'd get one SE. I'm on the X daily. I don't even play on the keys to create Melodie's anymore, I use the mpc pads and I feel I like what I come up with and I don't even care what key I'm in. It's all about feel and if the feel sounds and feels good. I like that experience 😊

I mean - I still see a few of the older units for $1700 probably a better bet...I am glad you are happy with your purchase though. My personal favorite the the Key 61 (which I do have) and if they upgrade the Force I will probably be on that, and depending if they upgrade the ONE to 4GB and 32GB built in I might take the plunge there. I really like the format of the one.
The MPC X is pretty much king at the moment... you will get that familiarity with it real quick... so many different ways to get your work flow going...

The only thing I hate about my MPC X is that you CAN'T press the main encoder...I really wish they made that change for the SE...still probably getting the SE tho lmao

You're going to be sorry about that SE in a few month the real release will be MPC 3.0 with linear record screen. Akai has to do it the MV is still years ahead of Akai and that's a fact 20 years later

The 5000 is the grandfather to the X, what your missing are plugins, big color touchscreen & improved work flow. If you good on the 5k then just use that

What ever happened to caring about sonics??the sound??even when Andy Mac was with Jermaine Dupri on this new machine JD still told him the Mpc 3000 was the one..that’s due to its converters the sonics..they put a vintage face plate on it stuffed some sounds but the sonics aren’t there out of the box..I took it back.and the owner of Newmark did Roger Linn dirty!!look at his video..I was hoping one of you guys being content creators would be honest about it for the culture..they sell “workflow” instead of sound..that’s what music is about..that’s why people “listen” to music not for “workflow”..yes it’s “pretty” but what good is that whenever u gotta do so much processing to get it to “sound” warm and thick..so I bought Isla instruments S2400 sounds wayyyyy better!!!like a drum machine sampler is supposed to.and I have the key 61 and force..I feed sounds through the S2400.all I have to say is check out E-A Ski video the best review I’ve herd..but I rock with your channel im a new subscriber..but remember the sound and culture brother
