- My 1972 Datsun 1200 has not been on a track in nearly 10 years! I have just a few days to revive it and get it back to where it belongs....the back of the pack! The clock is ticking....

I have a Datsun 1200 tube chassis GT-L race car that I’m currently restoring. Way cool to see another similar car in a longer format video. Not many good detailed videos on 1200 race cars other than some clips. Great vid👍

I don’t remember a Datsun dealer in Chilliwack but then it was a long time ago that i drove through western Canada..
Chilliwack Datsun used to race/sponsor 510's as well!

Good question...that is soooo hard to answer. Probably the LP400S Countach. It ticks all the boxes for me, fun to drive, makes great noises and looks so good.
Quite possibly the only Datsun 1200 to ever hit 116mph...

We destroyed so many of them in junior Speedway in Australia I smashed up a few with my mini another car we destroyed😢😢

I might have raced against you if you (in your Porsche) were at Road America circa 2011 and 2012.. I was racing a blue MGB V8 (3.5L buick alloy). Good luck with the 1200...I should be there as a spectator.

btw...in case you do not know Peter Zekert in Maryland Hts, MO... he is a former 1200 competitor and is selling many parts Datsun A-series (1200; B210; 210) GX race cylinder heads, ported with valves. $1000USD each plus shipping. Both are 37mm intake and 30mm exhaust with 8mm stems. Both were built by US based race cylinder head shop. MOST of these copied each other or copied Slover Porting Services.
[For $100 I can add 8 good used Datsun Comp or Isky aluminum valve spring retainers; and for $100 I can add a set of 16 good used competition dual springs.]
