I visited in 1980. What struck me about Perth was the complete lack of litter. The people were also nice as could be.

There is litter and it's right in the heart..in kings park, when you stay close to the railing to have the panoramic view just lower your look a little and look in the bushes...you will see quite a bit of rubbish. You can also go on the beach...I used to collect a lot of rubbish there

I have been playing euro million since i was 15 and i have never won and i decided to stop instead of i wasting my money in buying ticket. I met a friend in the train who told me that there is a great priest that can help win this lottery. He was so sure of it. I say let me give a try because i was so curious in becoming a millionaire so that flirt round bitches. I decided to give a try and he assure me in 24 hours i will get result and i went to buy ticket with the number he sent me and i did just that so for sure in time result was out and i was a winner of the highest draw of £56 million. I could not rejoice too much cause i was expecting this but was not sure if it really work but now that i have tested it and it work i will forever be grateful to this priest and my friend. When i went to show appreciation to him, he told me that he is here to help people who are in needs. The offer to show appreciation to the world is to spread his name across the world so that people will be helped and that is the reason i am online. Do not waste time, the email is templeofpermanenthealings@ gmail. com and whatsapp number is +2348163083041 he is the only help you need

Not sure if anyone below has pointed this out, but back in 1962 it was a big event that John Glenn would be passing over Perth at night. Consequently, everyone was asked to turn on their lights, get out in the backyard with torches, whatever they could do to make it a very brightly lit night on the dark west coast. So when John Glenn passed overhead, the sea and surrounding country were pitch dark, but Perth stood out like a beacon on the coast. John Glenn mentioned it several times from space and again when he visited Perth.
Also, I think there are other candidates for most isolated city, but Perth is definitely the most isolated state capital anywhere in the world and the most isolated city of its size.
Glad you enjoyed it though :)

Liked your walk and talk. Just a correction, Perth was settled in 1829 but convicts were brought in later from 1850 to 1868 upon request of the Colony to undertake needed infrastructure work. Gold was discovered in the Eastern States (1851) earlier than WA (1890's) but like 'Magwitch' in Dickens' 'Great Expectations', convicts might have been overly keen to get here with a free trip thrown in.

Great video! Just a few things:
Perth was established as a free-settlement in 1829 however in the 1840s the British began bringing in convicts due to labour shortages.
Also the marketing campaign that Foster's is Australian for beer is total bogus! I've only ever seen Foster's outside of Australia.

Great video, but as a native i feel I need to correct you. Perth (then the Swan River Colony) was not established as a penal colony. The convicts were brought in for labour as they'd been successful over east, but that wasn't the original intention.

Came here to say this. Also I’ve never heard a shark called a guppy, and I’ve never heard a Perth person called a perthie. We do have some really unique sayings here though. I would also say Australia is much much safer than America. Very strict gun laws. You’re not even allowed to buy pepper spray here, and no one has a reason to carry it.

Move to Warnbro WA! Houses at 350K, 5 minutes to beautiful beaches, shopping centre and schools! WA is expecting a 3.1 Billion $ surplus in September 2021 the state is booming, tons of employment ;) That's a 7K deposit for a $280 a week mortgage payment for a 3-4 bedroom house often with pool or outdoor spa. Don't miss out!

  • @GL-ii5dn

Piss is Australian for beer. Perth is in Western Australia.Fosters is a brand of beer from the eastern states of Australia exported overseas but not popular in Australia. It's like our joke on the rest of the world. I could be wrong but I believe Perth is the only colony established in Australia by free settlers not convicts.

Yes and the America was a penal colony too. The British sentenced thousands of people to transportation to the American colonies. After America revolted in 1776 the convicts were transported to Australia. What did Oscar Wilde say?... "The Americans are certainly great hero-worshippers, and always take their heroes from the criminal classes." The latest: George Floyd.

Perth and Western Australia is a very mediocre place to live. I swear it’s cursed and has a hold on people bringing them down to a false sense of security with limiting beliefs and lack of growth.
The blue skies, weather and beachs seem to be part of the curse to make people stay.
After living there for 8 years I finally had enough and moved away for a more prosperous life.
Don’t let this place trick you and eventually suck your soul from you. Get out while you still know your worth!

It is an interesting place, but WA is a commodities, mining state. It has a very old blue collar mentality. The working people (often FIFO workers) are not bad: they are salt of the earth - They are not complex or have any real respect for cultural or intellectual sophistication. Some themes dominate: Drinking, TV, beach, fishing, football... WA has one of the highest Indigenous incarceration rates, and one of the lowest populations of Gays (for an Australian capital city). I am not sure what the average IQ is. Perth people are not deep thinkers. There is a relatively high incidence of inter-racial coupling. Perth reminds me of mining cities in South Africa, but without the extreme crime. Public transport is OK but it will bring you into contact with a lot of people that you really don't want to know (and generally they just walk onto buses without paying any fare). Australia has a generous welfare system, but that only seems to finance the antisocial behaviour of a certain minority group who claim true ownership of the country. Perth was the last place in Australia to receive convicts as forced laborers, during the 1880s. Most people are of Anglo-Celtic in ancestry, but it is very racially diverse, and attracts a lot of Asian tourists. Virtually none of the UK nobility ever moved to Perth. It was populated by the poor and destitute of the UK in the 19th Century, and then by those who left Europe after WWI and WWII. So, the people generally have a great deal of empathy with the downcast and don't foster pretensions. And when the government issues propaganda such as: "Australia is the lucky country" they all tend to believe it. Even though the nation was created for the interests of the British. After WWII Australia was annexed by American politico-cultural interests, and it has developed according to that relationship ever since. Australia has a trade surplus with virtually every nation it deals with except of course with the USA, and Britain. The lucrative profits of Australian manufacturing were taken by the US and English companies leaving Australia in deficit for decades on end. It was only after Australia became a commodities economy that they started to go into budget surplus. But, of course, being Australia they are now selling their mining companies to China and Australia is now facing record national debt. It doesn't make enough money to support itself and lives on credit; credit provided by foreign banks.
