Back in the 40s, my dad was friends with Tommy Cleator, whos dad (James) the town is names for. My dad and Uncle would pick up Tommy and theyd drive to Jerome. They would take the Senator Hwy to Prescott then drive over the top of Mingus Mtn. I guess, from the stories I was told, fights with the miners was not uncommon. Have lots of stories...
❤
Great story.
Have you ever been to Jerome @brianwalker? Awesome place!
The school had a beautiful floor and ceiling! Just 1.5 hours away from Phoenix.
Great find Sarah. I live in AZ and now Cleator is on my list.
Very cool little town, Sarah! It was awesome of Corey to open up the general store and schoolhouse for you as well. I'm just glad that I don't have to work that type of gig when there are no more than three people backing me up with hundreds of tourists at once! Good for them though; that will probably tide the town over for another year. I hope someone can fix that freezer!
Good Video!! Was reading about the Bradshaws a couple of weeks ago ...
Wonderful. Thank you.. I waited with anticipation to see if you went through the door haha
Ha ha! I remember when "Hippies" came into Jerome Arizona, started selling home crafted items. Actually brought in more and the town saw a growth spurt, tourists equated money. Most who moved there just wanted some space. So, when Sarah points out the Hippies use back door sign I remembered that. A lot of these old Ghost Towns are good places to live....if you are accepted by those there ahead of you....and the small gold/placer miner can make some bean money!
Thanks for such a cool visit Lady!
That dog was super friendly. Loved the general store and school. Great ghost townand I love Arizona, especially Apache Junction and Prescott.
Neat place! Arizona has beautiful areas for sure!
Didn’t see Little One, miss that face♥️

LOL! I would need to use the back door too.
I'm from Berkeley, they wouldn't even let me in the town
Sure enjoyed! Glad I found you again.
What a awesome place ❤. Thank you 😊 🙏
Great video cool bar lots to see. Thanks for sharing❤
Great video👍👍❤️❤️
What a cool General Store!! And Bar. I can see me picking up a few things there….and leaving a dollar for wall decor!! 🤣 if it’s in Arizona…..it’s very cool to explore! Have fun!! ❤️❤️❤️ you really should check out Jerome!! I am in love with that town!
Cheers! My first video I have seen of yours. Cleator I have been to many times (they have PRR at the bar there) but you have shown me more history than I have explored when I have been in my groups. Must explore your other video's to see more. Thank you !
My Hero's Have Always Been Highways Have Fun
Don't know where your from...glad you enjoyed your visit... your no where near off roading but if you do happen to get deep in the Bradshaw mountains you will be very amazed at the beauty and will infact see many old mines. Cleator is just scratching the surface....
6 miles past Crown King is a little lake called "horse thief Lake". It's really nice up there in the summer. If you get a chance try to make it to the lake.
That's the next video coming out 🙂
Cool place. I might get a chance to check it out soon
You should go to the town of Young in Pleasant Valley. Crazy history in that area with a feud between ranches similar to the Hatfield's and McCoy's. Also ancient Indian dwellings.
You definitely find some off the way places. Lots of history there. I bet during the get together that place is awesome. I wonder where they get their electriciy and their water. Perhaps a well out there somewhere.
People do consider me a hippy, so...🙂😃😁😅😂🤣
I enjoyed your video and you are very much alive, Sarah. 🙂
Thanks!
Thank you!
I see a horror movie starting when you found the headstone
It was great having you in our little slice of heaven! I love this place so much, and always get excited when someone shows a genuine interest in what we're doing. Safe travels, and best of luck!
It was really great meeting yall Cory! And thank you so much for the lil tour and telling me some history of the place! Hope you put your stickers somewhere good! 🙂
@corymiller3554 and @wanderingjeepsy so happy you visited our Ghost Town, thanks for such a great mini documentary and Cory for being awesome!
My brother and his friend have gold claims in the Bradshaw mountains.. and all over that area. I'm out there all the time off-road than I do on. I'm surprised we haven't past each other.. my picture is a picture of my Sequoia in front of summit 4x4 right after they got don e building it las year. Anyway this is the first time I've ever seen your channel I'm surprised..
Maybe one day we'll run into each other 😁
Oh yeah I just subscribed 😁🎉
Have you been to Crown King? My brother in law keeps trying to take me up there but I don’t trust his driving 🙄😅 I hear the road up there is a bit dicey 😉
The cleaner bar a hopping place
You know you’re in Az when there is a sign telling to use back door
They’ve expanded over the years
They recently sold the property. I believe it belonged to a Cleator until recently.
... sooo they like bud light... hmm? 👍🐾
Ouuuu, look at that chandelier..
This little ghost town was for sale for a little over million not long ago. The guy bought and is fixing up that school. Didn’t know about the general store. That’s cool. The Bar is actually the Cleator Yacht club. Hence the boats. It’s a joke lol. But you can pay 20 bucks or something a year and get a discount on your 🍺 beer. And say you’re a member of a yacht club in the desert 🌵. I live just a little bit down the hill in Black Canyon City. Cleator is a regular trip. And Crown King.
That's cute about the "member of a yacht club" 🤣
😎💖👍
Entire town sold for just under 1M a few years ago
Wait, you didn’t know about burning man?
Did they hide from you in the bar
So I actually really still love you alot ..
Modern American Primitive gen x'r
I had a girl friend in creator
Cats aren't grumpy.
They are just kings of earth and are annoyed by humans, unless you have treats
Those two cats are only grumpy because they're outnumbered by the dogs. That and they probably aren't getting enough treats. ;-)
😂😂😂 right ✅
Amazing video Sarah I really envy you getting to discover and explore all the back roads of America
Keep Smiling Beautiful Lady Gypsy❤
Oh Ms Jeepsy!! What a find! 👍 Just love this little ghost town in Cleator, AZ 😁 So thankful that you stumbled upon this quaint little town! The weekends there must be happening big time there, with ATVer's running around all the roads! 🍻🌭🪕🎸🎤🎶🎵 Thanks so much for sharing this cute little ghost town....🏜️ A diamond 💎 in the ruff!! 😁👍
They're doing some really nice work there. Love these types of remote locations.
Was little one mad at you with the other dog's scent was on you? lol, I have a little dog that looks like little one, his name is Otis, he was a rescue dog from hurricane Isaac, he's an old dog, but dances around when he sees me getting food for him. P.S. he loves french fries ☺
Ghost towns are always interesting and sometimes a little spooky if you stay the night. Nice review of this location. Thanks!
Cleator and Crown King are assume!!! Hung out there for years when I lived in Cordes Lakes. 🐾🙏🏻✌🏻
❤ hello Sara I love you you make me happy thank you so much for sharing your friend Gary❤❤
Please use your SEAT BELT
I do wear my seat belt! Can't drive my jeep if I don't! It's under my arm.
Good video and thank you much. 😅
I love Arizona. So many cool places to explore. Another great video Sarah!
Some of the places that your journey takes you to, I would love to live in at. And it doesn't matter whether it's a ghost town or not. I'm not scared of ghosts. Thank you again for a great journey
How cool. Wish that people would do something like that with the little ghost towns I have around here. Would make for more interesting things to do. One ghost town not far from where I am is where my grandfather was born in the depot. Safe travels for you and little one 😊
Awesome, see that pressed tin ceiling.. cool
Great camerawork as always! No surprise-you are so kind to the canine population-among others!
Very nice video!👍 Looks like Cleator is a happening place these days. I enjoyed seeing some of the other buildings, as the bar is the only place I have been in. Nice restorations in progress. Thank you.🙂
Nice tour of Cleator, thanks!
Great video! Love your vibe! Can't wait until the next one❤❤
Grumpy cats? I thought cats were just smelly. "Smelly cat, smells cat, what are they feeding you?'
Loads out here 😊
So cool! Thank you for finding a little bit of history tucked away in these fabulous old towns!
I love ghost towns , this one is so rich in history. Thank you for sharing 😊
I told my sister next time I’m out to visit her in AZ she needs to take me to Cleator. Great video Sarah! ❤😊
I live in Montana, so I see that sign everywhere
we have a Bar named Roadkill Cafe and they do have a back door for Hippies
Such a cool little ghost town that Korey was willing to share. Thanks for sharing.☀️🌻😊
Hi Sarah, great video. I enjoy small towns with lots of historical stuff and can't wait to hear about the old railroads. Cheers 😊
Thk u Sarah 👍👏 great video!!!🥰🫶🇨🇦
Nice drone footage Sarah. Great perspective of how out in the middle of nowhere Cleator is! Boats in the desert, well after
all it is a bar and yatch club. Awesome tour of the older buildings there thanks to Corey and his fur buddy.
Very good video, so well made, so pleasant to watch.
Very nice..you were smiling entire time..made me smile.. thank you lady 😀
cool I love old towns and back country areas.
I also like these kind of places
Hey Sarah, love the video, ive got to go there looks so cool. Bbeen down for the last tthree weeks and four day in a hospital. My heart started to act up and i was too stubborn to go to my Doctor but looks like ill be on some meds for a while. Your looking great and your very lucky to have found such good people out there. ❤ Old Kenny
Hope you start getting better! Sorry to hear you were in the hospital 😒
Awesome place!
Awesome place
Oh man that place looks really cool. has a few geocaches and is less then 70 miles from me. I do believe I will have to visit and make a geocaching cleator video
😀😃😄
Nice job covering the history of the historic town of Cleator. I thought you meeting Corey what is an exceptional find and he turned out to be a fine fellow by offering to take you inside a couple of those old buildings and showing the care he and others have taken to preserve that history by doing such a fine job restoring them. You're really pumping out the content Sarah, I just hope you're still finding time to take it easy so you don't run yourself too thin doing what you love. You're just getting better and better at finding your voice and producing great videos.
Thank you!
Great Video! Just Subbed
Just stumbled across your channel and have binged quite a few episodes. Love your stuff! You probably get asked this alot but have you ever stumbled across anything spooky or something you couldn't explain? I love anything scary or paranormal and have read loads of accounts of people sleeping in camper vans being visited by sasquatch... one chap even had his whole camper van rocked and lifted up and down by something large one night! Keep safe and keep doing what you do... can't wait to follow your adventures!
I think there's something about boats in the desert in Arizona. When I moved to Arizona there was a price if property that had a bunch uf boats and jet skis just randomly placed there. And there's also a ranch called Oceanfront Ranch. So maybe they're just hopeful about California falling into the ocean.
Great video Jeepsy. ❤🎉❤ Yuu and Sarah are the coolest explorers on the tube. Romani, savorsah Romany? Kushti rarti. ❤
Senator Tenney told me at dinner one day he would drive the old Ford truck backward up the hill the back way into Prescott. It was a gravity feed gas line as the tank was in the dashboard and when a hill was steep enough it would dog and die . So backward up the Bradshaw's . Good job Jeepsy ... Saw you with wonderhussey.
So cool! I love exploring. It's my goal to start exploring and finding awesome history and old mine sites. I would like to start a channel or something like that. I would call it disabled exploring lol. You give me inspiration thank you.
As a long time resident of Arizona (almost born and raised here) ... I believe the town is pronounced (clee - a - tor). at least that is how I was taught, and have pronounced it all my life. My mother used to live near the bradshaws, went up there with my step father hunting rabbits, and doing a little indian artifact hunting.
Of course the bartenders name was MULEY, Here's to you Muley!!!¡!
kewl find.... Great Vid, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for giving us a profile, of Cleator,AZ.Never knew about it.💙💛💙
And driving from Cleater to crown king is tops on any bucket list 7,000 ft elevation
Nice they are saving those old buildings, I'm sure the general store will be a hit with the visitors. That place has changed a lot since I was there 25 yrs ago. I stopped at the bar and had a beer, the bartender was a old guy...guess he's gone by now. History is so interesting.
Yep I know that area really well, I've taken my wrangler back there lots of times. Good fun.
I lived at bumble bee old ghost gold mine town in the Bradshaw and worked for the owners of the cleaner bar at there ranch and Robson mining world was care taker tour guide I miss the be
Radahaw mts in black canyon city
The Cleator bar is cool. Is the Yacht club still there?
I hope you made it to Crown King😊 try the fudge in the general store.
Have you been to Crown King? It's very close to Cleator. Safe travels.
I don't believe in marriage but I would make an exception for you Sarah ❤❤❤
