There is no video on TH-cam who explained how to get quantities in sketchup without messing. Thanks putting this out for free ♥️🙏 PS: can i export area and volume date to excel spreadsheet? Any plugin?
Justin, very good video, like the way you approach QTO. I also work as an estimator with a commercial GC. We use a plug in to name and export the materials and once we have in csv there we can work with it as an estimate. We are trying Dibac for 2D drawing walls and having 3D surfaces (it provides NET wall areas). Traditional push/pull or stretching dynamic components take more time for us. What do you use to capture wall info?
At the moment, all I do is group geometry by material type (after doing some cleanup), then select all the faces in each group to get the quantity data, then manually move the data for each material into a spreadsheet. Generally speaking, most of what we get in the moment once we get out of the concept stage is modeled in Revit. I'm interested in checking out the Estimator SketchUp extension, and I also like the reporting tools found in Profile Builder 2. Thanks for watching!
TheSketchUpEssentials. Agreed on the PB reporting. We'd be a buyer if they ever make it so user could set wall height. For csv data export have started using Wisext which let's user name and define custom attributes. Seems were in that nebulous area where we don't need Revit, but something just below. Dibac allows user ht input and openings are taken from walls, but no ability to build assemblies. Enjoy your videos, very informative. If you can think of something that fits our bill please post. Thanks again.
Thank you , I really like your tutorials, just wana say,can you do another rendering tutorials with twilighr render, using interior scène ,let's say modeling and rendering interior scène , thank you

I would like to upload my model to a render farm using Twilight render , if possible.
Have you used estimator?
Hi there - not yet, but it's on my list of extensions to try out. Thanks!
