FIX YOUR B35AM (Smoking + Throw Increase)

  • The B35AM is overdriven in the Emisar D1V2, Noctigon KR1, and the DM11, and smokes on Turbo as a result. Here is how to fix that using Anduril 2. This video also shows you how to increase the throw of the DM11 with the B35AM by using the standard DM11 throw optic.
    For more information, view Hank's official BLF thread:

    This is a fix for all D1V2/KR1/DM11s that have been sold up to this point. Going forward the driver for these lights will be tweaked to reduce the maximum current to prevent this issue.
    This fix is possible due to the features built into Anduril 2 by ToyKeeper. Consider supporting her here:

    NOTE - You need to have a version of A2 with the features shown in this video. I believe everything with the boost driver + B35AM will have the newer firmware, but you may need to reflash.
    It seems not all lights are experiencing this issue. I recommend you remove the optic/lens from your light and run turbo to test it.
    Regarding the throw increase, Hank is selling these lights with modified tighter optics by default. This hack is for those who bought the floody optic and want a simple way to increase throw without actually modifying anything (...but you do still need another throwy optic)

    Thank you for making this, since I usually use my DM11 on turbo and I just checked, mine also smokes.

    Hey mate! I just got a D1K with B35AM, and I'm wondering if this is also necessary with whatever default driver that comes with? I'll probably set the ceiling just to be safe.

      It's effectively the same driver, but Hank has since adjusted all of his lights such that the B35 shouldn't smoke anymore.

    Do you have any info on whether or not Hank has fixed all his lights using the B35 that he currently has for sale?

    • @LuxWad
      @LuxWad  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He hasn't said anything officially but it seems to have been fixed in new models

    Oh no. Dirty LED or poor heat transfer? My build was smoking too but it was a 5A 519A with poor reflow. Had to redo the reflow to fix the issue.

    • @LuxWad
      @LuxWad  ปีที่แล้ว

      The B35AM lacks a thermal pad for heat transfer to the MCPCB, just like the 144AR. Apparently it's just being driven too hard

    What advantage does the B35AM have over the 519A?

    • @LuxWad
      @LuxWad  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Compared to a single 519a it's much brighter and has the most realistic color you can get (519a is also extremely good but it's more pinkish, its like 98 CRI while B35AM is almost 100)

      @@LuxWad Is it brighter though? Hank lists the dedomed 519a as 1200 lumens vs the B35AM as 1000 lumens in the new D1 and that's before the output is adjusted so the B35AM doesn't smoke.

      Where did you post it? BLF or Reddit? Those are the only places this kind of info seems to get traction, and even then it's easy for it to get buried. The DM11 probably got overlooked because it was hidden by the optic, the couple cases I saw months ago were concluded to be dirty LEDS or similar

    LOL11 You'd think people /companies like HW's would do the necessary testing before letting his lights leave his door. :) Sounds like he deson't have a QC dept....heh....sadly lots of Chinse companies do this....weak QC...."wining it"....quickly putting together lgihts then sending them out the door...heh...
