    Great list!! Some other places I would suggest are Bari, Lecce, Capri, Amalfi (the town), Catania & Taormina, Caserta, to name just a few. You cannot go wrong with a trip to Italy -- every region is blessed with amazing towns & cities. A lifetime isnt enough to see it all!

    Your video just came up on my recommendations.
    Four years ago I retired, sold everything, bought a boat in the Mediterranean and decided to take it from France around Italy and into the Adriatic.
    On the way down the west coast I stopped for a few days each at a number of these towns, and several more not mentioned.
    After about 9 months, including 6 months in Ostia over winter, I eventually arrived in Tropea to stop for a few days rest before moving on; that was 3 years ago - I’m still here.
    You did mention our amazing (blue flag) beaches but it’s so much more than that. An Incredibly friendly , medieval old town that’s just been voted “the prettiest town in Italy (Il Borgo Dei Borghi)
    Within easy reach of the Eolian islands by boat or ferry and surrounded by so many picturesque villages you really need to allow yourself several weeks stay.
    As for me I’m not going anywhere else so if anyone visits Tropea , come down to the marina and join us for a drink in the lounge bar!

      Thanks so much for taking the time to share your travel journey with us. This is such an inspirational story. You made me want to leave everything behind and follow your footsteps! Southern Italy has so much to offer and you are right, we need to allow ourselves at least several weeks to explore. Before starting MultiCityTrips to share our love of European travel, I spent a lot of time in Italy and this part of the country is still my personal favorite. Oh and I also stayed in Ostia for months as well (if you are talking about Ostia that is about one hour out of Rome). Anyway, if we have a chance to visit Tropea again in the future, we'll definitely join you at the marina!

    • @steveosborne2297
      @steveosborne2297 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MultiCityTrips yeah, in the marina there. Still in touch with a few of the guys there.
      Did you have the chance to explore Ostia Antica, it’s incredible!

    • @MultiCityTrips
      @MultiCityTrips  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@steveosborne2297 Yes, twice! Loved it there. It reminded me of Pompeii but much closer to Rome.

    • @steveosborne2297
      @steveosborne2297 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MultiCityTrips to be honest if anyone was thinking of going to Rome I would suggest staying in a hotel in Ostia, it’s sooo much cheaper. Depending on where you stay the Metro station is a 10 to 15 minute walk and an all day ticket costs less than €10. With stops by all the main attractions of Rome and going as far as Fiumincino airport
      Personally I’d recommend the Aron Blue, just outside the marina, with a bus stop just behind that goes to the station. (Mid price)
      Also the marina is full of bars, restaurants and shops

  • @sannubonu1980
    @sannubonu1980 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The centre-north is more touristic and organized , but the south, has the greatest architectural variety in Europe ... You can see an intact Greek temple from the 5th century BC. And a giant royal palace of 1700 like Caserta (bigger than Versailles) , baroque churches, ancient towns, and much, much more ...
    And the coasts, especially in Sardinia and Sicily in many places have a swimming pool water.

    Great idea for a video as southern ttaly has so much culture and scenery to offer. With that said, if the narrator is going to try to pronounce in Italian, at least apply it to all cities on the list, e.g. Naples should be introduced as Napoli. Be consistent.
