This looks so easy!😂 It has been such a nightmare on my cab using pi4. I finally figured out the problem. Rasberry Pi4 does not remember the port for the trackball. It does not matter the frontend. I built several in testing. Sometimes I start the machine and it works, 3 out of 4 times it does not. I'm finally just going to buy a mini pc off of amazon and build my own image on that. I lost soooo many hours tracking down that problem and I'm a nerd. I can't imagine somebody who just wants it to work having to diagnose that. What a nightmare. FYI if you're not using a trackball, Pi4 should work fine for mosty retro gaming. But, my prebuilt arcade cabinet came with a trackball😡 Maybe this will help some poor soul out there...
@@ShowtimeGaming101 It was the pi. I got the pc in a few days ago. I built a fresh batocera and have none of the issues I had with the pi. The pc recognizes the trackball "every time" without issue. I just have to tweak Retroarch like you have shown. In some games may have to go into mame and tweak that a bit however, it is working.🤗
ok i have a question. my trackball works fine in trackball games (example capcom bowling) my joystick doesnt work in burgertime. works perfect in batocera menus/mapped correctly/detected encoder correctly. I cant seem to figure out why?
@@ShowtimeGaming101 tried that but no go. i then grabbed mame 251 rom for mr do and set emu to mame. now it lets me access mame ini(with tab button) to set the left right up down. its weird only some 4 way im having to do this. yet all menus and 8 ways are fine. just weird lol. all good so far. thanks very much for the reply.

If you “save core remap” it’ll save that players slot permanently.

I had the same trackball, so can i replace the white ball for a 50mm pool 8 ball?

Try changing the emulator in the settings
