Ghosts actually started as a reminiscence to good old Swedish meldodic death metal and with that archetypical guitar riff that you hear right in the beginning.
And then we integrated it into our Xandria soundscape with lots of film score atmosphere and big choirs, because it was exciting to mix these elements and do our own thing with it (still we kept the working title "Swedish Fire" for a long time...).
It is a good example for how diverse the new album will be and how many different influences we were putting into it. We had a lot of things - little musical dreams - in our minds and hearts that we wanted to realize, and along with what you already heard in the first two new songs this is just one of them. There will be quite some more surprises coming...

We can't deny that Xandria really knows how to reborn... And always they reborn in a great way. This song is very, very good

I've heard some songs from the band's past, and this still sounds great. I still prefer some older works, but that's not to say the new album won't absolutely rock. I look forward to new music. Metal is my favorite genre for a reason. Complex and varying. Even within individual bands. Love the progression.

Korpiklaani, a well-known metal band, was coming to my city. So I decided to check out their support - Visions of Atlantis. And then that lead me to discovering Xandria, which shares a very similar style. Now I’m obsessed with Xandria and Visions of Atlantis.

They really know how to write the best songs for each vocal. The Manuela era was as graceful as but darker than Nightwish. Dianne was theatrical like an opera. Ambre is more energetic, and the songs are kinda modern. Fits really well to the status quo too.
If we compare (wich i dont like) to nightwish, this is like anette olzon era.

Both Lisa Middelhauve and Diane van Giersbern wrote most of the songs they sang. I tinknk dose are the best albums of the band.
The other singers have greay voces, but not de appeal of Lisa and Dianne.
I think that she is more like Floor because she knows how to do death growls🤘

Lisa also was composer and could continue her musical career after Xandria until she completely gave up music.
Dianne was not and is not composer at all. Her band clearly shows this. This band has only quasical musical noice but not music (melodies). And BTW Lisa also could make growl. New singer is enough good. Now it is enough for current Xandria.

@@SMJSmoK yep. Just because a metal song is catchy it doesn't mean it's pop. Symphonic metal is typically catchy, I don't understand what genre they've been listening to so far. Plus many bands got tired of operatic voice, Xandria are only updating and evolving. If they want something hard they'd better switch to trash metal

The music is metal, the vocals are pop. With a proper symphonic metal vocalist, no one would call this pop.

it's funny because i've seen really creative and amazing music vids made with almost zero budget. you can tell they spent a good bit of money for this to get a warehouse to shoot in, a oldies car, and the little smoke flares and costumes. but at the end of the day the video has no soul and nothing about it makes me want to watch it over just browsing through comments or going on my phone.
