THE WOLF YOU FEED // LYRICS
    The dark, the night
Only linger when you won’t open your eyes
    To seek and find
A world whose bark outweighs its bite
    Bite the hand!
    Life’s a battle you command.
    A great divide
Dictates the howling of the mind
Though the moon outruns the sun
    She reflects her light...
    Tell me everything you need
    To kill the numb
And find the strength to become
A storm that never loses speed
    When it’s said and done
You become the wolf you feed
    Two halves, un-whole
    Twisting stories to be told
    Tightropes we tread
Bridge heaven and hell inside our heads
    Heads held high
    Contemplating fight or flight
    You ask me why
I say the answer lies inside
    Tell me everything you need
    To kill the numb
And find the strength to become
A wolf that never needs to feed
    It’s said and done
You’ve become the wolf you need

@UC-pDs4Gv6S0Qa0_fMMYOSqw Yeah, we’ve followed The Warning since their viral “Enter Sandman” video (when my daughter was barely more than a toddler!). Their recent album is excellent. Evanescence basically falls into the category of “classic rock oldies” for her 😅 but she can sing along with the hits. I should check out some of the others with her; I’ve been meaning to check out Jinjer anyway. 👌🤘

In ONE TUNE, Alyssa shows that: one can growl and do a "death grunt"/throat-singing, but then break out into clean vocals that would bring most "Pop Princesses" to shame.
And Nita can write melodic hooks which make most producers pull their headphones off and ask: "WTF did she just do?"

i am sure she would love to do more cleans but the issue is shes the singer for Arch Enemy and the fans expect the growls and screams its been that way since the band started and apparently she does not have the time do side projects with as much touring the band does especially in Europe and South America and Japan.

I like the music, don't mistake me, but 2 sets of lady lumps is why it got the view count it did. Tons of metal bands deserve this viewership, but get maybe 10% because us bearded longhairs aren't nearly as eye catching.

    • @northwindkey
      @northwindkey ปีที่แล้ว +32

@@differentfins They are letting her sing a bit more and more though. Tbf, the classic Arch Enemy fans would've probably thrown a fit if the band immediately shifted to a focus on clean vocal chorus' after literally 20 years of staying true to a pure screaming melodeath focus. Phasing in the clean singing gradually is the right call, it's exactly what people say In Flames should've done instead of just randomly changing genres.

    • @northwindkey
      @northwindkey ปีที่แล้ว +28

@@ghjebus3 AE is literally the band that inspired Alissa to be a musician (And a lot of bands, AE is one of the most influential metal bands of the past 30 years). And you're all saying she should ditch it just because she isn't using clean vocals a whole lot in it (Which was partly her decision may I remind people, she wanted to focus screaming on AE and singing on her solo project she never got around to actually doing)?
The disrespect to one of Melodeath's most important and influential bands in this comment section is astounding. Do you people realize what kind of an opportunity and honor that is, to not only join one of the most acclaimed metal bands ever but also do so as a replacement for Angela Gossow, one of the most beloved vocalists of all time?
Also, you people clearly haven't listened to AE since like 2014. Alissa has done plenty of clean vocals in their more recent stuff, and it's been increasing steadily. They're phasing in clean vocals to AE gradually, the right move, instead of giving their fans immediate whiplash.
