Our mission to island hop didn't go exactly as expected. At stop number one, I got stopped in my tracks by a developing thunderstorm. By the time the thunderstorm passed, I got completely stranded due to the high winds. Luckily, our rescue boat was within reach and I didn't have to spend the night there. Stay tuned for the next video where I launch from this very island and fly over 130 miles all the way to the west end.

Responding from 2 years in the future, because I'm just that dedicated to pedantry. It's a common misconception, but the "desert" in desert island is actually an archaic synonym for "deserted". It's like how we say "roast beef" instead of "roasted beef" (thank you, Merriam-Webster, for the example).

I would get something to tether it to my wrist just in case. I never drop my phone, not anymore, but I would get something to securely fasten it to my person one way or another for a lot of reasons not limited to it being an expensive thing to lose -- nowadays it's more devastating arguably than losing your wallet or keyring or something.

Hard to pick just one favorite video, because there are so many great ones .... but this one I think is my favorite 😄
Important lesson in this video. Keep track of the weather and do not wait around for the wind to pick up speed, if it gets to windy you will not be able to do a safe launch. You would then have to ride out the storm until you can do a safe launch. It is nice to see Tucker taking precautions and staying safe. People do get lost or even die when just going out into the wild, doing regular things. The outdoors is nice but also real dangerous. Loved this "Bahamas" adventure, beautiful scenery.

A military ration meal for the next trip! They dont take much space and really sustain. They helped me when I was doing volunteer work for Civil Air Patrol after hurricane Maria in PR.

emergency flares. always. in the car, the boat, pocket, plane, paramotor. I think the only vehicle you can't use emergency flares in is a spaceship. Don't think i've been on one of those.

@@whtwolf100 dependent on how they work it could work in space or other low oxygen environments. So they are just impractical as who would see it. Also space ships have normal ones if they land unexpectedly or at least what I have heard.

I've watched lots of your videos, but never thought to thank you for the closed caption. So, Tucker, thanks for the CC!
As a second thought, St Lucia is very close to St Vincent, which is very close to Bequia. You can see St Vincent from St Lucia, but you have to take a commercial flight from St Lucia to Barbados, then from Barbados to St Vincent, then a boat to Bequia to get there. Bequia is very nice. The water is much clearer than the far more northern Bahamas, and the people are very nice. For cheap you can ride a 100 year old HUGE sailboat from Bequia out to the Grenadines. IDK if any of the unoccupied Grenadines have room to land, but maybe. (Mick Jagger owns one of them.)
*I can give you some local connections in St Lucia if this is of any interest to you. You definitely, in my opinion, get a lot more memorable and meaningful experience staying with them than in the Castries. I also have a connection on St Vincent, but you really want to get in and out of (or skip) St Vincent ASAP.
**Uhuru in Zanzibar is also highly recommended. You would love it, and it's less than $20/night with PLENTY of beach room and neighboring islands.
Glad you listened to the signs and decided to wait for the boat. But couldn't help to think what if you didn't have phone service to call for the boat.
It's really difficult to make a no fly call when you make all these plans.
It was definitely a hard decision! If I had no phone service, I probably would have hoped that the wind would calm down at sunset.
