You also need to watch Chris sing Cold at the CMA awards I believe it was 2021 or 2022 CMA's. Chris and Justin Timberlake's live performance at the 2015 CMA's performing Tennessee Whiskey and Drink You Away. Also the lady who sings backup with Chris is his lovely wife, Morgane. who is also a very good singer.
That’s his wife Morgane she’s talented. They met as young songwriters in Nashville and have 5 children. He has written over 200 songs that have been recorded by other artists, but he didn’t write this, it’s an old country song recorded in the 1980s by George Jones and others but he changed the beat.
His rendition of It’s A Man’s World by James Brown His song Death Row is absolutely amazing! I’m Canadian but I gotta see your reaction to Chris Stapleton sangin the National Anthem for the 2023 SuperBowl! I’m here for you going down the Chris Stapleton rabbit hole!! Awesome reaction 💜💜
This song was originally written by Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove for David Allen Coe. It has been covered by many artists over the years, but no other artists has had the success with it that Chris Stapleton has. His style and voice is unlike any other. He’s so talented!
The first time hearing 'Tennessee Whiskey' is like discovering a musical treasure chest. Chris Stapleton's voice and the soulful melody are simply enchanting.
Bro you CAN NOT GO WRONG if you look up either of Chris Stapleton's live performances of "I was wrong" (I think it was the Austin City Limits version) or "Cold" (CMA's performance). Chris blends country, soul, and blues like nobody I've ever heard before. This man is simply generational talent personified!! Love your vids bro!! Keep grindin!!
Chris Stapleton's 'Tennessee Whiskey' is a masterpiece, and the first time hearing it is a special moment. Brace yourself for the raw emotion and soulful vibes.
Chris is a story teller - one song called Fire Away is so powerful and the video is compelling. It's about mental health and Ben Foster heard about it and wanted to be in it so badly and he did a great job.
He has a lot of great songs. Check out I Was Wrong live at Austin City Limits, Cold live at 2021 CMAs, Sometimes I Cry live at the Bing Lounge, Fire Away, Broken Halos, Either Way, etc.
There are two he-only-did-it-once covers you might enjoy, “Man’s World” and “Nothing Compares to You” both were in tribute and unique scenarios when performed but the really do justice to highlight his voice.
It is blues. He’s a country artist, but this pure blues. The time signature, chord progressions and phrasing is text book blues. He does a great live performance of James Brown “it’s a man’s world” so so good
If this is your first time hearing 'Tennessee Whiskey' by Chris Stapleton, get ready for a musical journey that will stay with you. It's a song that leaves an imprint on the soul.
Ah, the joy of the first time hearing 'Tennessee Whiskey' by Chris Stapleton! You're about to discover why this song is a timeless classic that transcends genres.

Oh, MAN, now you've gone and done it---this is a rabbit hole, of no return!!! That's okay; relax, breathe deeply; let it envelope you!! ❤ I suggest Chris Stapleton and Justin Timberlake, live, at, I think, the CMA Awards!! They sing "Tennessee Whiskey", and Justin's song "Drink You Away"!! It's probably the best Country awards performance, EVER!!! So glad you enjoyed this!! Hey, is that a Baltimore hat? GO RAVENS---WOO-HOO!!!
The first time hearing 'Tennessee Whiskey' is like stepping into a musical wonderland. Chris Stapleton's voice and the emotion in this song are absolutely breathtaking.
You're in for a treat! The first time hearing 'Tennessee Whiskey' is like discovering a hidden treasure. Chris Stapleton's voice and the soulful melody are pure magic.
Dude, if you haven't gotten into that album there's more. He hit me out of nowhere too and you'll notice that this version is very close to how it was recorded. No auto tune no tricks and no tracks. Straight up Chris, six strings and a voice you can't explain. I want to say that's his wife singing with him but don't quote me on that. Be careful rooting through the country music catalog. Most of the stuff in the past five or six years isn't country although they wear hats and sing with a twang. I put this album on at the pool one day and the crowd there was white, black, hispanic and there might have been a couple of Asians hanging around. The reaction I got was "turn it up!" so I did and he gained a couple of unlikely fans that day. Every song on that album struck a cord with me and they're in my playlist permanently now. It's funny how the world would make us believe we're so different. We all vibe. Carry on and keep that mind open it's wonderful what you run into every now and then.
I 2nd the national anthym from last years super bowl. Chris Stapleton killed it, has to be in the top 2, or 3 ever. But, also Chris has a lot of songs that are worth a listen to; : (Live) I was Wrong" "What are you listening to" "Cold" "Fire Away"
Your first time hearing 'Tennessee Whiskey' by Chris Stapleton is a musical milestone. This song has a way of weaving into your heart, and every note is a delight.
Get ready to be blown away. Chris Stapleton's 'Tennessee Whiskey' is a masterpiece, and the first time hearing it is a moment you'll remember. Enjoy the musical journey!
I hated country music when I was younger, but have really come to appreciate it! 2 other faves of mine from Chris Stapleton are: Broken Halos and You Should Probably Leave.
Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove wrote the song and it was first recorded by David Annan Coe first in 1981 and reached # 77 on the charts with his version then in 1983 George Jones with his version who topped the charts at number 2. I loved his version it had a lot of heart but Chris Stapleton’s version is just wow with so much more heart and soul and reached #1 on country charts and #23 on the billboard. I love both version for different reasons. You mentioned another person singing this but I have never heard that version yet but am going to check it out. Loved your reaction.
Keep going on Chris. You won’t be disappointed. His live performances are incredible. He did not write Tennessee Whisky, but he does write most of his own music and has written hundreds (yes, hundreds) of songs for other artists and not just country artists. He’s considered country, but he’s so much more. Check out his live performance of Cold at the 2021 CMAs and his live performance of White Horse at the 2023 CMA. He’s also collaborated with several other artists, such as Pink, Carlos Santana, Sheryl Crowe, Justin Timberlake and more.
Ah, the joy of the first time hearing 'Tennessee Whiskey.' Chris Stapleton's voice has a way of reaching into your soul. Get ready for an emotional musical journey!
If you're the type that likes to hear more than one song from an artist before forming an opinion, there are a lot. Check out his live performance of Cold from the CMA's. Or the songs South Dakota and Higher from his new album Higher. Or, to be honest, any song from Chris is phenominal, including his rendition of the national anthem at the Super Bowl - which had no musical accompaniment except his guitar. He's amazing.
@WiseReactz great reaction! Just sub’d. Chris is always so good LIVE!! Please react to Chris’s performance “2021 CMA Awards “Cold” he won Grammys,CMA’s,etc., for it! Also his recent performance “2023 CMA Awards “White Horse” he performed days before it was released on his new album’HIGHER’. It’s 🔥🔥🔥. Chris is labeled ‘ Country’ but he’s soul, blues,R&B,a little rock & Outlaw Country all in 1 amazing voice. He writes his own songs unless singing occasional cover. His wife Morgane is lady singing harmonies with him. Chris is a living Legend!!! Thanks friend.
Welcome to the world of 'Tennessee Whiskey.' Chris Stapleton's masterpiece has a way of making every first-time listener a fan for life. Enjoy the musical bliss!
Tennessee Whiskey was originally recorded by David Allen Coe in 1981. It was written by Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove. Chris definitely made it his own. And, in my opinion, it’s supremely better than the original. A good David Allen Coe song to react to is You Never Even Call Me By My Name.
Prepare to be captivated. 'Tennessee Whiskey' by Chris Stapleton is a song that hits you right in the feels, especially the first time hearing it. Enjoy the soulful vibes!
If this is your first time hearing 'Tennessee Whiskey' by Chris Stapleton, get ready for a soulful journey. It's a song that transcends time and musical boundaries. Enjoy!
Everyone wants to put down country music. They are still musical artists. My father and grandfather were both jazz musicians and play multiple instruments. My father used to say that country music was not music because he didn't like the twangy sound of all the old music from the day. But country artists have been changing country music. Look at Darius rucker from hootie and the blowfish. I've been to several country concerts. And the best one, the most enjoying, and the most exciting was garth brooks. Thank you for opening your mind, your soul, your heart and your ears. You felt it!!!😉 To something you don't usually listen to. What's that old saying don't judge a book by its cover.
Get ready to be hooked! 'Tennessee Whiskey' by Chris Stapleton is a song that leaves a lasting impression, especially the first time hearing it. Enjoy the magic!
Everything Chris and Morgane sing are soulful, powerful, heartfelt and amazing. Chris has written loads of songs, including for many other artists. Check out "Watch you burn". Live. The only way to watch him perform is live. Better than recorded. His voice is better live as well as the emotion and rawness. He can make his guitar speak to you.
Love watching people discover Chris Stapleton! Don't let the cowboy hat fool ya, he's a very bluesy type.. well, actually he does it all, R&B, Rock, bluegrass, southern rock, and country. You must do his live performances if possible cuz they're better than the studio version! Next do "COLD" LIVE AT CMA AWARDS 2021 (if ya want to do a country artist that is popular today do the artist 'Hardy' song is "WAIT IN THE TRUCK" you won't be disappointed) Oh, just sub'd cuz of chris Stapleton!
Buckle up for a musical rollercoaster! Chris Stapleton's 'Tennessee Whiskey' is a gem, and the first time hearing it is an unforgettable experience. Enjoy the soulful ride!
Im just going to say Chris is always better live in my opinion. COLD live is the next one you need to do. I haven’t seen anyone leave it without being in love with it. 💗🙏🏼🇺🇸
The lady is his wife Morgaine, you can always see it in their eyes, and I believe she is his rock😊 I saw him live, it was awesome. If you are near Kentucky, go see him there... it's his home state. He loves playing there!
I don’t like country music but like you said this has more of a blues tone. I absolutely love the Chris Stapleton version. 100 times better than original by David Allan Coe. That’s his wife singing with him.
Love your reaction! I suggest reacting to I Was Wrong live at Austin city limits, either way live, what are you listening to live, sometimes I cry, live, barely alive, and the video for Starting Over, and Fire Away. Those are some good ones to start with.
Yeah, Chris is a great singer/performer and this is a classic. Maybe you might be interested in Dax(Canada)& Darius(USA) "To Be A Man" which has some similar heartfelt elements but is more Rap/Country. Also there is Dirt Miller "Kansas City" which is a unique Rock, Blues?, Country? blend. He is a young talented artist from California and has a unique twangy voice and great guitar skills. 🥰🥰🥰🇨🇦
.....I believe you will find that George Jones(old school country) might well have been the 1st to record this...and a great job George did with this too.
Welcome to the world of 'Tennessee Whiskey' by Chris Stapleton. The first time hearing it is a magical experience that hooks you from the first note. Enjoy the soulful ride!
I forgot to add Tennessee whiskey with Drink You Away by him and Justin Timberlake LIVE from the ACMs. To this day, definitely on the top 3 of my favorite live performances EVER and I’m a music person.

Your about to go down the Chris Stapleton rabbit hole..."Great reaction by the way" check out Chris doing the cover of the great James Brown's "It's a man's man's man's world" it will blow your mind!
The female is his wife Morgan and yes she is amazing in her own right!! Oh, and I don't think you can put him in just a Country category... he is an enigma in his own right!!
I haven't found anything that Chris has done to be bad. He is a song writer from Whitesville, Kentucky. The young lady singing with him is his wife Morgan. You can't go wrong with Chris Stapleton.
How about some 1970's Southern Rock? Charlie Daniels Band - The Devil Went Down To Georgia; The Marshall Tucker Band - Can't You See or The Allman Brothers Band - Whipping Post. There's also Southern Blues, most notably Stevie Ray Vaughan - Texas Flood at the El Macombo or ZZ Top - La Grange. There's so much good southern music out there, last but not least, Hank Williams Jr. - Family Tradition.
That's his wife Morgane. Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Chris Stapleton! Try..."Cold" at the CMA awards (he wrote it); "I Was Wrong" at Austin City (he wrote this, too...killer guitar); "You are My Sunshine" (with his wife); "White Horse" at CMA awards (he wrote this one)...he is so much better with the live videos! Have fun and welcome to the world of Chris, he's multi-genre and incredible! HAVE FUN WITH IT!☺Oh, hope you can find tickets!
Ok now you as a southern gentleman have to go down the Chris Stapleton rabbit hole. He has no bad songs. I Was Wrong is another live performance you need to hear. Chris is a Kentucky boy.
There is a street performer in south Florida he plays guitar people from audience sing. There was a black guy that sung this put Stapleton in the shade.
I think you would enjoy his National Anthem performance at the Super Bowl, it was truly beautiful 💕
I second this rec
the best I have ever heard
Thanks for lookin into one of the greatest talents ever! P.S. I am not a country fan...but I am a Chris Stapleton fan!

Chris Stapleton sings this song better than anyone , but I am a huge fan of the George Jones version also
Chris is a generational talent. IMO he can’t be placed in any genre. He’s in a genre all by himself. Check out Cold live. You’ll be amazed
Chris is considered Country but he has a great bluesy tone to his voice.

Ok now you as a southern gentleman have to go down the Chris Stapleton rabbit hole. He has no bad songs. I Was Wrong is another live performance you need to hear. Chris is a Kentucky boy.
