Atomic Punk sounds great and not a easy song to play or sing live. It's not Dave 1978, but it's as close as you can get. This was the reunion tour to see live and I am glad I did. 2012 was decent still, but 2015 was a garbage tour and Eddie knew it. The Mighty Van Halen will always be Mighty, but it's time to kick back and enjoy the legend. I wish Eddie well with his health. Love you Edward!
To be honest, Atomic Punk is one of his easier songs to play compared to the likes of I’m the One and Eruption. It just goes to show how gifted and talented Eddie really was.
@@fatjuicytaco that’s true, someone asked Satchel from steel panther if he missed playing Van Halen songs and his response was “I surely don’t miss playing I’m the one.”
@@kingzriot976 I tried learning it and the opening riff is probably the hardest part of the song just because it is nearly impossible to go as fast as Eddie does while keeping the bouncy-swing feeling he created. Plus I’m not the greatest at doing all the fills he throws in.
The 2007 reunion tour Dave sounded great and the band was on top of their game . the whole concert was very entertaining. i was there ,but watching the concert brought back some memories and even some tears because of Edward . God bless him!!!!!
I was a kid when it happened but I remember my dad coming home from the Detroit show and he was telling me it was the coolest concert he’d been to in a while. It’s a darn shame a lot of people (like myself) never got to see him live. He was the coolest guy around.
Thermonuclear rock as good as it gets. Few bands ever write one song as good as this, even fewer have a batch of this quality in their portfolio. V H is one of them.
I had seen Van Halen 4 times in my life. I was able to see this tour in Mpls, MN. This morning, I paid a re-visit to the VH debut album. When THIS song came over my speakers...it suddenly hit me, like...wholly SHYT! That right-hand technique (plus phase-shifter) that opens the sang...and then is repeated just after the guitar solo....was sooooo INNOVATIVE! Who ELSE was soing that? EVH revolutionized Rock guitar on every level you could possibly THINK of...and THEN some! As a guitarist myself, Ed changed my life FOREVER! He will own the Throne of Rock Guitar...into Eternity!
Simply the best of the best!. Dave is without doubt exceptional!, Eddie!, the Guitar God!, and Eddie's Son, Brilliant!, and never let us forget the almighty Alex!!. Would love to see Wolf, Dave, Alex and Michael have a world tour!.
For those that don’t Play guitar AND WHERE fortunate to see EVH LIVE . He was one of a kind ! FOR GUITAR PLAYER HE SET THE BAR SO HIGH IN SUCH A SHORT TIME . Not just the guitar playing FLASH STAGE PRESENCE INNOVATOR AND HE ALWAYS SMILED 😅 LOOK AT ALL HIS VIDEOS AND PHOTOS SMILING 😊
We all know how great Eddie is , but his rhythm and timing is often overlooked .. great example of this 1.15-1.20 .. comes back into the riff on time with song
I love that they tipped their hat to Punk, because punk is rock too. And trust me, van Halen influenced lots of punk bands, so did acdc, and so did maiden.
Damn people give Dave a lot of shit but he sounded great during the initial reunion tour it's just a shame that he lost it by the Different Kind of Truth tour.
The music is spot on, despite missing Mikey... but DLR, man. Horrible. I watched Sammy & Mikey play the other night and Mikey did DLR's songs and sounded just like DLR did in the 80's. Sammy sounded just the same, no change.
My favorite Van Halen song.
So sad.. another Legend lost. Rest in Peace .. Eddie Van Halen.
how cool how he was playing with his son, RIP Eddie you were one the best for sure
I would love to play music with my son too when he grows old.
Being a father myself I love that....but it should have been Michael Anthony.
@@shannonlucas2980how they did Michael was dirty.

V H is one of them.
That's about nearly the best I've heard Roth sing, and Eddie and Wolfie are having a lot of fun. I'll give it a 9 on the Van Halometer.
I love how Eddie and Wolfgang are both having so much fun with it.
Rest in peace, Eddie! Gone too soon.
Ooh crap I was there. 10 th row! Great show & I saw them in 1981-2? Yeah I’m old!!! Women and children first obviously much more perfected since then.
Super surprised by how good Dave actually sounds live here. My favorite rock n roll band of all time. Rest easy Eddie Van Halen 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 🎸

I'm convinced that thrash and American hard-core bands were directly influenced by van Halen and that California custom vibe.

How absolutely EPIC! With his son. Priceless....
Eddie is so great to watch...the way he dances while playing!
Liberace Dave hates it...

Just Beautiful KIDS Again

wow, still jumping around the stage at 52 years old. Impressive! RIP
I’m thirteen again,
And it’s 1978!
Miss you Ed.
Age is a bitch, I sure miss the screaming voice of Dave from the 80s , RIP Eddie
All on board for this number, as a group... as Rock & Roll hard to beat 💓 🔥 👌 💪 cat scratches from above.... the best....

Man this is perfect. Thanks for posting. 🎸
The absolutely greatest rock n fucking roll band EVER! Van fuckin' Halen man#💛🇺🇸💖

I believe this is the only VH song without backing vocals.
JEEZ!...BADASS

BS, Dave sound great here. VH doesn't even mean anything to me without Dave. No disrespect Sammy, love your sound also.
So glad to hear this live VH 2 was the best Roth record .
This is on VH1 though
@@FerusZaz im sorry dont understand your point not being rude
@@danadabrowski1936 never mind, lol no point to be made :)
@@danadabrowski1936 Facts don't cared about feelings....
Dana Dabrowski he means that this song is not on Van Halens second album it’s on The first Van Halen album
People can say Diamond Dave was an asshole, but after what Eddie and Alex did to Michael Anthony, I'd say he isn't the only asshole in that band.
Ahh que buena rola
The Van Halen that should have been.
Saw VH once, 09/10/1978, I'm sure i saw this live, what device is he holding in the beginning?
eddie was TOO GOOD for his OWN GOOD. !!
Maior guitar man de todos os tempos
Billions brought me here
Almost sounds like ???im in your heads
Atomic Punk, that's any person born in the 70s
Lol 🎉Rocks ✨️back forever
Not bad with William Shatner Lee Roth.
You must be a SJW that needs a safe zone.
Diamond Dave to you mortals... Rest In Peace Eddie
This is just badask
Dave lost his voice a long time ago
he lost the lyrics a longer time ago. most dissapointing concert ever.
dave was always the weakest link
Dave from basically 75 to 81 was pretty fuckin solid after that tho he embodied Diamond Dave
DLR is pathetic in this
At his best
