    That’s an everbearing June plum. It fruits two to 3 times each year. It’s also dwarfed. The fruit is small and the seeds are softer so your mouth doesn’t get torn up. Boil the Chaya leaves for twenty to thirty minutes before you consume (throw off that water and then prepare for consumption). You need to go see LadyD in Ft Pierce. She’s right behind the main campus of IRSC.
    Shake the tree and the bugs will fall off then dispose of them.

    Hi Pat, I love your videos and watching all the progress your plants make in this beautiful weather. We moved to Palm Bay in July and since then started planting different fruit trees and veggies etc in our yard. I love seeing a fellow Palm Bayer making the best of their space as well by planting. Would love to visit your backyard in person some day.

    Also plant more of the comfrey plant around the property especially near the trees that are struggling it will nurture them and allow them to grow healthy it’s an amazing plant. You can make tea from the leaf too.
    Comfrey roots and leaves contain allantoin, a substance that helps new skin cells grow, along with other substances that reduce inflammation and keep skin healthy. Comfrey ointments have been used to heal bruises as well as pulled muscles and ligaments, fractures, sprains, strains, and osteoarthritis.

      Hi Mark. Glad you came over to my channel. I used the comfrey recently when I broke my Pinky. It really helped a lot. I've been told it's dangerous when ingested. Lots of articles in that. Thanks for the great tip about planting near struggling trees. One just popped up in my veggie bed. I'll transplant by my mango tree. Hope you make it to Florida. Check out my 1 year update I did end of December. Here it is th-cam.com/video/d8iX2L1qEsA/w-d-xo.html

    Leave the bugs, they act as nature's cuttings on certain plants, just as you cut back on your plants to have them grow more or blossom faster, that's what these bugs do, they won't harm your plants the are actually helping your plants.

    • @backyardfarmerpat
      @backyardfarmerpat  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting. Are you referring to these specific bugs or all bugs?

    • @RDixon-jh7rn
      @RDixon-jh7rn ปีที่แล้ว

      @@backyardfarmerpat that's for all bugs that does not harm the productivity of the plant, if the insects keeps the plant from progressing then you want to stop those ones, but it the plant is pushing new growth and the more mature leaves are being eaten by the bugs that's perfectly fine. Nature is awesome and it may seems strange to some of us when bugs do certain things, but we use wisdom to make sense of it all.

    I'm on the opposite coast, north of Tamps. First time watching your YT. Your plants look really healthy! I read all the comments because I too was curious about the white beetles but didn't see an ID yet. I would love your work even more if you mentioned which side you are showing (North, South, etc) .I love the way you get right into the plant to show the fruit. Just asking if the camera work could be slower. Did you put down a lot of mulch before planting? And/or is it sand there, or do you have some soil? Thanks!

      Hi Charlotte. The white beetles are Sri Lanka weevils. This video is now over a year old. I didn't put any mulch down before planting. I'm in sugar sand. I did build up the soil before planting each tree. Check out the updated tour video I did last week. Thanks so much for stopping by. Please subscribe and stick around.
