I used to have a job that I got up to start work at 4am and I would fall asleep as soon as I got home from my shift, so I didn't do things with my day anyway hahaha. I think the reason why it’s difficult to establish new habits/routines like your 5AM one is because we try to establish extremes as fast as possible. If you wake up at 8AM typically, while your ultimate goal can be 5AM, your immediate goal should be 7:40AM. Once that becomes easy you make it a little earlier until you reach your ultimate goal.
