This is based not only on Portal, but a specific fan-made mod that includes time-traveling portals for the said game.

I like the reference to the trader at the end of the third level, when the terminal indicates to not exchange packaged fruits and flesh (caged farmers) for the spudgun, which you do in survival mode. It also indicates to package the trader itself, turning him into a caged farmer.
I wonder if they hid an Easter egg farmer in the hidden vents. And somewhere to obtain the needed fruit.
I like the mounted spud-guns and potato duplicators, and how they work like the lasers and laser-reflecting cubes from Portal

Technically it does have portals, but it's just done in a different way
I also like how the potato duplicators are basically mirror cubes, and the mounted spud-guns are like the lasers

The second I saw the FIRST frame of the video, I freaked out!
I instantly recognized it as the starting chamber of Portal.
Portal (1 & 2) are some of the best games ever made. (According to me)
the room that changed was a reference to the portal: reloaded mod, which added time traveling portals to the game. if you notice the color of the door change, it is quite interesting

Wow this is really cool, this is scrap mechanic combined with portal, and the potato gun is the portal gun. It even has the time traveling aspect of portal reloaded! 10/10, Even the lore of scrap mechanic is combined with portal, maybe glados is actually the trader or an enemy of the trader, maybe the bots that run the warehouses, or a CEO of them.
I got a multiplayer idea, you make a revolver like machine where the barrels are spud guns. Then you have a one spud gun be able to shoot, but only that one can shoot the explosive a explosive, the other ones can't shoot at all, and you guys get to play spud roulette (warning; I do not advocate for playing IRL Russian roulette, I just think it would be a fun game to play in scrap mechanic because of the sheer anticipation and paranoia)

This is basically just Portal: Reloaded in Scrap Mechanic
That is totally correct inspired by the starts of the both Portal games, as well as Portal Reloaded, a fan-made mod for Portal 2.
there was a user mod made for portal 2.. added a third portal, a time portal. 20 years in future. thus where the idea came from

Well, not really. The potatoes are the closest things in scrap mechic to lasers. So they used them instead. The potato multiplier is the laser reflector cube
You try portal, and if that gets a lot of attention portal 2 then there’s also what’s like a portal 3 which is fan made

Packaging the Farmers means putting them in cages which means this map is for training bots.

wait a minute... at the end there it talks about a farmer selling spud guns and if a farmer tries to, package him. this might have some connection to the trader in survival (bc he sells guns) and the caged farmers...

I’d say the way scrapman did it was the correct one. The spud drop mechanic was explained on the wall, implying it was the correct solution.

Day 77 of trying to put a comment to let people ask me about the music he uses. Just ask me a question that's related to the music he uses like the names, among other things. You can do this by leaving a timestamp or a description of the music you're looking for. I have a playlist that has a bunch (specifically 197 tracks) of the music he uses.
