Hello You Four - greetings from Poland How lovely to see you all again. So glad you are all safe and well and settled in for the winter. "To New Beginnings" is a great toast - have a wonderful time. Thanks so very much for bringing so much sunshine into my life sduring 2022. A Very Happy Christmas and A Happy, Healthy 2023
Love Preveza marina and his very serviceable crew, but also the lovely village , good restaurants and bars. Great place for overwintering. Been there two times on a friends sailboat , fine to sail there to. Wishing you great times there !
Love you guys! Great video. Great berth so close to everything. Laura ... You are Stunning! Sharing a story I was told on a tour during a cruise tour while visiting a Greek Island. There are more churches in Greece per capita than anywhere. Some are very small (one person size) and larger ones. The reason there are so many churches is because when Greek Sailors got caught in severe weather, they would make promises to God...that if he got them home safely, they would build a church in his name. Of course, it is not a good idea to make a promise to God and not keep it... thus lots of Churches throughout the Greek countryside.
Wow - that’s an awesome story - never knew that but makes a lot of sense! We have been to hundreds of churches now both big and tiny…..Patmos island actually has the most churches of any one area in the world! It’s incredibly spiritual. Merry Christmas! ♥️🎄⛵️
@@SailingHollyBlue of course it could have been just a tall tail that the tour guide told gullible tourists who wouldn't know if it was true or not... 😉

Wow , such a nice guide tour! I have had my eyes on that marina for wintering next winter and now I'm even more convinced that it's the right place! By the way guys, your videos are so professionals ⛵🤩❤
Hello, Nice to have some news from you. Your video is a very good one and Preveza Marina seems to be a very nice place to stay in for winter. The staff is « très accueillant » as we say it in french with a lot of services… I guess Laura will appreciate… I hope to see you in next videos… I wish you all a merry christmas… Bye

Full of history and full of life😁 Although technically not part of the Ionian, it is in Epirus, a very old Kingdom Enjoy, see you at the washing machines 😂

Hi Guys, You have found the best Marina in the Ionian! When I need a hiding hole to escape a storm, Preveza marine every time. Have a great winter and I hope you will still be around in April it would be great to meet you again. I bet the boys will have grown quite a bit. Take care and best wishes for Christmas.
This was such a lovely and personable episode guys ‼️ Should our vision be provisioned in our heart Greece, what a perfect spot to "get started." ✨🌊💨⛵️🏝️👙🌞✨🎄✨. HAPPY WINTER 🎉🌨❄️☃️
Wow, that is some marina, take note all marinas. Chichester is my nearest and although not so fresh as this one, it is a great place and the people are friendly and helpful too. My first sail was from there, it was extraordinary and a life long memory, I'd like to tell you about it, if interested ? In the meantime, have a great time and a fantastic Christmas as a special family that you are.
The Ionian is beautiful, a little busy at times but you will soon find the quiet areas which are amazing. We hope to see you and give a wave when we return in April. Sailing yacht “Alchemia”. Happy holiday season.
Love the video. Got to get myself to Greece, someday. Joke for Josh: "Imagine you find yourself in a room with no windows and no doors. How do you get out?" Answer: "Stop imagining !!"

14.04 - know Preveza Marina and Preveza very well. Used the marina and town quay many times when we had our boat share of The lovely 36 ft Canigou. Love Preveza town -really buzzy and very very Greek. Fantastic range of restaurants and cafés. Have you been to Paxos yet? Our daughter got married there in 2019, after several visits on Canigou in previous summers. Love the Ionian, but getting very crowded now in summer. It was great in 2020 and 2021, when we managed a couple of weeks on board during breaks in Covid lockdown. No cruise ships, and very few boats out, so easy to anchor off or moor up at tiny quays. Like sailing 30 years ago, we were told …
Highly agree especially about the town - we can’t believe how vibrant and atmospheric it is even in the middle of winter when most islands and smaller towns have in our experience been so quiet. Perfect for liveaboard families ♥️⛵️🎄🦋👌
@@SailingHollyBlue Preveza town isn't that small there are over 20,000 permanent residents and then there are many more in surrounding areas. It's a fishing/agricultural area, not a tourist town.

Actually as a Greek I'm a bit surprised that these facilities exist in Preveza. I wish other places had this kind of amenities too. Greece has the potential to be a far better country but corruption, bad politicians and the fool mentality of people 'll always keep us back. Anyways hope you 're enjoying your adventure. Luckily for you this autumn and the beginning of winter has been the mildest for years. The West is always a bit warmer but very rainy. This year has been so far pretty damn dry and warm.
🙏🏻... Funny you guys mentioned bicycles in here, not only because almost anything bicycles are one of my favorites...🚴🏻♀🚴🏻♀ And, here's something for Josh, about bicycles; Why does the bicycle fall over whenever it stops? God Bless Everyone🙏🏻⛵🦋

Very nice facilities. Only downside of overwintering in Western Greece as opposed to Eastern or Southern is that the weather tends to be much wetter though quite mild temp wise.
True! Though it’s much colder on the eastern and southern areas during winter and we prefer to be toasty. Lovely and warm but defintely more wet….a plus of this is that we have noticed it’s much greener and colourful as a result. Have a wonderful holiday season 🎄🦋⛵️♥️⭐️
@sailingnona so far so good! Leros Island (Dodecanese) we had sub zero temps for 2 years running and so far here not much below 20 as yet. We don’t mind a bit of cold but coming from the UK we don’t care as a winter in sunshine is always a bonus! 👌
@sailingnona Western Greece receives almost double the yearly rainfall that SE England receives. If you also consider that this is concentrated mostly from fall to spring you'll realise how wet the place is during the winter. In 2021 Preveza area itself received more than 1200mm of rain while the London yearly average is less than 600mm.
Don't miss the opportunity to hire a car and travel around the mainland. Lots to see in Epirus region if you like snowy mountainscapes, gorges, rivers and remote villages and the Peloponnese is almost a stone's throw away. If you avoid the festive seasons of Christmas, New Year, Epiphany and Greek Orthodox Easter, it is not too expensive either.
@@razisn Patra is the beginning of Peloponnese from this side and people rarely stop there (not the nicest of cities) People generally head to Sparta/Kalamata/Mani area which is over 5hrs drive
There’s a dry dock called ‘Cleopatra’ just across the water from Preveza Marina and we will dry dock Holly there when she needs maintenance…also a very good place! Winter wise we probably spend less than in the summer because we work harder online and travel less….our main expense is food! We are massive foodies haha x

Hi . Love the videos. As a fellow brexit sufferer can I please ask if you have managed to get an extended visa for Greece and if you have what's it called and where do I apply 🤞. Thank you
We were in Greece with a beige card when brexit happened which automatically gave us the opportunity to apply for a biometric card (see recent episodes where we apply in Kos) - we now have temporary residency for a few years x
