My mom invites them on our dock and let’s them use our scale and everything. We have cameras on our property and it’s always just kids with their own gear and it’s always kids who aren’t old enough to drive and go to a lake or park on their own. The only rule she has is make sure you release the fish that’s why she lets them use the scale so they can get a picture and proof. But that’s her being a problem solver not a problem causer

When kids are hunting and fishing they arent gang banging and drug dealing. I used to be very calm in these situations, years back a few incidents got physical. If people are in your face you can "use appropriate force" as needed. I would recommend shutting the camera off and doing what you gotta do. As long as you can fish there the cops usually haul away the other person 😃 I've had several people arrested after I tossed them a beating. I think it's good for them, too many angry people and they need to understand to relax or consequences can happen. It's a public service in my opinion, just make sure before you throw hands you can fish that area (as you did). Great job man, hope you catch some monsters

“I’ve gotta be careful, I’ve been yelled at here before, this pond is on the golf course.” So, he’s admitting that he’s trespassing to fish the pond. Then does the typical lying, “My grandmother lives here” bullshit. He also threw the first fish a good 10 feet back to the water, that will at the least stun the fish when it hits the water. I guess little bass don’t deserve to be handled properly. I encourage fishing where it’s legal and standing up for your rights as a fisherman but people that fish illegally and then wanna bitch about being confronted piss me off. And quit using the excuse that well at least I’m not out doing drugs, I’m sick of it. This is the reason so many of us catch crap when we fish.

As a retired person, I would much rather see young people enjoying the outdoors fishing than all of the other crap they might be getting in to. Every video I see dealing with this issue, the young kids are ALWAYS polite and it is the "adults' that get nasty and make threats and cuss. Carry on young Sir and ignore these unhappy people.

My living area had posted signs about fishing in the area was only for the community. I didn't mind people fishing near my home but plenty of times people would leave trash in the area. I would walk out and mention cleaning up after themselves.

In Canada, water ways are owned by our government, and also 10 ft of shoreline along with it, no-matter whether it be a stream, lake, or pond surrounded by a person's land. If pond is surrounded, you just have to ask if you can cross their private land to get to it. That's the only way they can stop you from fishing at that location. If you can boat in, or walk along side the waterway (within 10 ft of the water itself), , we have full legal right to fish that said waterway (even float in on an air balloon if that's possible), your fishing legally.

    1) By his own admission, he is not a resident. He said his grandmother is. According to the handout one of the men gave him, she is allowed to fish there. He is not. 2) During most of the video, the fisherman claimed the property line extended to within 2 feet of the bank. At the end he claimed 2-4 feet. Watch the video. He was only within 2 feet of the bank for a minority of the time. He was often more than 4 feet from the bank. By his own admission, he is breaking the rules, even if he is allowed to fish because his grandmother supposedly is a resident. 3) No one yelled at him. He yelled at the old men. 4) No one harassed him. I personally would not have asked him to leave if I lived there, because he was not bothering anyone or doing anything out of line. However, he is not entitled to get irritated with homeowners and make false statements about the way they interacted with him. And he should not make false statements about complying with the rules while filming visual evidence that he is not. The homeowners paid for the right to be there. He has not. Why is he irritated with them? I hope granny sits him down for a good talking to, the arrogant little dude.

First, I wouldn't have the balls to walk through all these folks backyards, yanking fish out of the HOA ponds. Second, If what you say is true, 2 feet doesn't give you enough room to fish, and you encroached on that 2 feet the entire time you fished. These people worked their asses off to be able to afford these homes on a golf course with a lake in their backyard, so leave them alone, and fish public lakes like everyone else. Taking fish from these ponds, to put in your "pond" is really arrogant too. Just leave dude, your an embarrassment to real fishermen.

Actually, I'm gonna side with the homeowners. It's SO close to their homes, it really does feel like an invasion of privacy and trespassing. This isn't some stream that runs along acres private property with a house in the distance. This is RIGHT in their small yards. That would annoy the living shit out of me. I would feel uncomfortable just walking through people's backyards like I belonged there, regardless of the 2 foot nonsense; and YOU'RE not a resident. Your relative is. You gotta respect the boundaries of the people who PAY to live there and don't want you there. I can see both sides of it. But, they really have more of a gripe. Especially today. People are crazy and the world is dangerous. You could be a thief posing as a fisherman to case people's property. They don't know. That's why a lot of those communities require you to be with the resident while fishing. It's THEIR right as the homeowner, which is not transferable. They can simply have guests with them. Bottom line, they live there and you don't. The right thing is to respect their rights and wishes, as frustrating as it is.
