    Ten to fifteen percent of the population has a personality disorder(s) of varying magnitudes. Roger is one who hassles fishermen. It is easier for the police to chase off fishermen then deal with Roger. You need to get him cited for harassment by the state fish and game officers. Citizens have a right to access public lands within regulatory guidelines without being hassled. Fishermen need to stand and fight back.

    • @kurtinklern3262
      @kurtinklern3262 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Yes...THIS.
      Ironically, typical officers seemed to be handcuffed. DNR, or whatever MN calls it, needs to get involved, because they (normally) don't answer to anyone.

      I can agree with your comment. However, I did get drawn to the fisherman's statement of needing to cast real close to the homeowners wall for bites. Because I am a home owner on a National Bass Fishing body of water. I know what its like to spend 1000's of dollars every 2-3 years in repair to my shoreline features. I myself have signed petitions of 100s to close the water to fishermen. It wont happen cus the town makes MILLIONS. However, my DNR did say get a picture of them damaging my property. The officer said he would take their boat. I laughed cus I think...think he was joking. Mr. Fisherman in the video showed his hand. I would bet he has hit that wall with bait or lure. Thats vandalism... period. Now lets clap for fishermen that break laws?

    Texas has a harassment law that makes it a crime to harass some involved in legal hunting or fishing. You should approach your DNR or Wildlife office about a similar rule.

    • @andyfletcher3561
      @andyfletcher3561 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Actually, I believe that is the case for most states. It's illegal to harass folks engaged in hunting or fishing in most jurisdictions.

    • @houkikker136
      @houkikker136 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      They are Federal laws actually, that makes it a felony to horas, impair or other wise interfere with people fishing or hunting. So anytime this happens call the Game Warden never the Police they don't know the fishing regulations nor do they have authority to stop you from fishing unless your are actually trespassing then you are in their area of responsibility. So know where the boundaries are.

    • @andyfletcher3561
      @andyfletcher3561 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@houkikker136Nearly every word you wrote is utter rubbish other than your advice to take it upon yourself to call a game warden. Harassment laws on fishing and hunting are up to the states to decide and regulate UNLESS it's USDFS rangers on FEDERAL land, and even then most of the laws and regulations are the state's jurisdiction. Rangers can however enforce state regulations on federal lands, for example a national forest as opposed to a state forest.

    • @Bru_Dog1
      @Bru_Dog1 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Agreed, most states have harassment laws. They also have vandalism laws to prevent fisherman bouncing lures and bait off docks and water walls. Some owners petition to move fishing areas in order to protect their property. Then some criminals make videos as click bait pushing a false narrative.

      By me we have a great bridge for fishing white bass, walleye and sometimes crappie. There's a farm road along the river where we could park off the side of the road in the grass between the river and the road. The farmer who owns the land on the OTHER side of the road from the river petitioned the county to put no parking signs on BOTH sides of the road. He claims they can't get farm equipment up and down the street if cars park there. The only time they run farm equipment is when they plant in the spring and harvest in the fall. It's literally 2 days a year that they need room for the big equipment. What a d-bag. Makes it basically impossible to fish there because it's a busy highway and it's not safe to walk to the bridge from the highway....and you can't park anywhere down the farm road anymore.

    As a hunter from Wisconsin, how TF is DNR/Warden/Fish & Game not involved. City police shouldn’t be handling a complaint related to Fishing/Hunting. Also the proximity to the river raises the question of whose land your actually on. I’d argue state land because of the “water shed” which would definitely mean it’s not a city police problem. But yea, when you litterally tell him to stop talking and leave you alone and he keeps yelling at you that’s 100% harassment. Telling him to stop is what really helps you.

      My thought exactly! There's a law for misuse of police resources and falsely reporting a crime. After a certain number of times being called, they can actually fine or even give jail time to the person for making false claims. If the "county" put in the signs, I'd expect/ request the "county" to come out there and have him, you, the police, and the DNR walk the 100 ft out from "where the county measured it" so EVERYONE will be in agreement. And if he is upset where it is and he doesn't want to see people behind his house, he should maybe look into the local code and see if he's able to put a fence back there cause that is absolutely ridiculous. He needs another hobby than calling the cops on people for being on public property, and harassing them from their legal right.

    People like Roger are ridiculous. The fact that the cops were more worried about keeping Roger from calling them than upholding your rights is a huge part of the problem. Roger has no leg to stand on and should be told in no uncertain terms to stop wasting city resources by calling the law. If he continues they should start citing him. The Rogers of the world never have to pay consequences and that’s the biggest wrong of all.

    This is great to see, unfortunately a lot of people like this homeowner like to make up the rules to suit themselves rather then actually allow people who are doing the right thing to enjoy the water

    Man I had a similar experience but it happened 2 times then I had enough and when cops should up I told them I'm calling game warden. Warden showed up told person who was harassing me he is righting him a ticket and he told the cop that he would right him one to because cop was acting like a dush bag and told them he wouldn't right tickets every time they harassed me . I don't no what state your in but wi warden sometimes come to your defense. Never had a problem again.

    Ask the County to have it surveyed and put markers where the 100' mark is.
    Also a rolling tape isn't as accurate as the cloth tape the other guy has.
    So your measurement is probably less accurate than his. Every bump, every up and down will add distance, especially the ones with the little wheels.

    I do believe if you get the sign worked out with the accordance of the law hopefully with the dnr help so anglers stop getting unnecessarily harassed. Rodger can get in trouble for wasting public resources every time he calls for that reason. Again all depending on where this takes place.

    15 or so yrs ago I move to my present house. It was the only house in a new SD, kinda out in the country. The developer had built 3 interconnected ponds in the center of the subdivision with the "lakes" being community property of the landowners. Of course at the time the owners were just me and the developer. The land was basically still a 40 ac cow pasture with some ponds in the middle. It being a country area, it was common for people to bank fish the ponds. I didnt mind at all, I like to fish myself. Most people were nice enough to ask, which I always let them just asked dont leave a mess.
    But then one early summer weekend I looked out the back window and parked around the ponds were about 20 SUVs and pickups and about twice that many people having a great ol time fishing and tailgating. A couple of families had spread blankets for a picnic in my backyard. A few fishermen now and again is fine but a weekend party is kinda over the top. So I had a talk with a developer and he basically blocked off all vehicle access to the lakes with gates, log chains, and padlocks. That seemed to stop the big parties, although a few people continued to walk in and fish which was ok by me. I did have to pick up bait boxes and cans from time time, some people are just slobs. That was the exception rather than the rule though. Now all the lots are sold and the ponds are completely surrounded by homeowners so nobody fishes without permission from a landowner.

    Keep fighting the good fight my dude. There's a DNR "park ranger", he's the guy that checks for park passes and he ALWAYS harasses us. I take my family out there to fish or sometimes swim and he always has something to say. And I'm not alone, everyone I've talked to that's had an interaction with the guy said he's always been rude or creepy to them.

    Officer is there to keep the peace......... Its tough, disturbing the peace is what they use on surfers who are supposedly trespassing by walking on the beach or down the creek to get to the surf spot... Here in Michigan people destroy access to fishing spots, public boat launches and public right of ways... To appease angry home owners they tell us to leave or get charged with "disturbing the peace" this is western lower Michigan.....
    Its tough no trespassing no fishing signs everywhere 😪
    thanks for the video.

    The DNR could fine him for his actions. Unfortunately that may be what it takes to get him to stop. If hes calling 911 all the time thats improper use of an emergency number and he could be fined for that. Thats what I dont get hes is not only harrasing fisherman but the police department. Police dont want to be bothered with petty stuff like this. They are short handed as it is already.
