thay took the song of garry glitter and made it great in the 80`s.I can remember the time when the electric sound was around. What a time to be around. The time. the clothes the atmosphere you will never exsperence again.

The lovely irony of a new wave group with an all-electronic accompaniment singin "Rock 'n roll". The message is clear: the days of guitars and drum kits are numbered, this decade will be electronic.

often wondered why they took ages to be big because alot of their early albums had some fantastic stuff on them and so ahead of their own and the electro age.

There is now this book "Listening to the music machines make" by Richard Evans and is amazing how Ultravox/Human League, Simple Minds etc had to struggle to be big. There is the whole after-punk scene previous to the boom of BLITZ disco that made this transition to pure electronic music hard to get their slot. Many amazing albums and singles were still getting kept off number one by ridiculous traditional plays like Adam and the Ants etc...Love this performance and if I'm right, is from the one off EP "HOLIDAY 80". Consider also that Human League then we're splitting up and Ian Craig and Martyn Ware were starting the B.E.F. proyect and Heaven 17 at the same time..

This episode was just shown again on bbc1 over the weekend. Its the one that also features the first appearance from OMD. Neither had a song in the top 40 and I seem to remember Phil saying their record dropped after their appearance.
Also in a perfect bit of timing, also on the show were The Undertones singing My Perfect Cousin which included the lyrics ...
"His mother bought him a synthesizer
Got the Human League into advise her
Now he's making lots of noise
Playing along with the Art school boys"

@@gerarddoyle6376 well for starters, Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh left the band to form heaven 17 leading to the iconic mark two version of The Human League and also in 1997, Gary Glitter got arrested on count of CP with his cameo in spice world being cut, then later being arrested in Vietnam in 2005, and then being convicted again in 2015 with him being released and then subsequently put back in jail this year

And hopefully I will get a chance 2 c meet them again. I have a lot to thank Joanne Catherall ♥️ my hero 4 ever making a dream of mine 2 come true. 4 me 2 meet up with the Human League. And 6 times in Joanne Catheralls ♥️ case and 4 times in Queen Susan Sulley ♥️ s case. And Queen Joanne Catherall ♥️ doesn't know it. But Joanne Catherall ♥️ is partly responsible 4 the best night of my life so far. And it cost Southern railway company over the sum of£100 4a taxi home from Brighton 2 Portsmouth where I live in and play Chess 4. Ather I had a good time chatting with Joanne Catherall ♥️ and giving Joanne loads of hand written love letters. And all starting with the words of 2 Queen Joanne Catherall Sweet ♥️ on them ather Chess Peace's and the fact that I simply adore the Human League. And Queen Joanne Catherall ♥️ epy. I love the Human League.
